Outstanding care from start to finish. I had a bit of an emergency about a month ago that coincided w/my regular dentist's retirement. After extensive research, I settled on Dr. Loflin & I can't stress enough how great of a decision that turned out to be. My experience began w/the lovely Jasmine who answered all of my questions & concerns when I initially called. On the phone & in person, I can't stress enough how amazing she is to the experience. To say she is knowledgable & pleasant is an understatement. Then I met Dr. Loflin who also was extremely pleasant, explained the entire process in detail & took his time to make sure that my crown was perfectly fitted & that I was free of any discomfort. A first for me, Dr. Loflin also personally reached out the following day to check up on me & make sure that all was well. His attention to detail throughout the entire process was literally perfect. The last thing I'll mention is the view. Top quality service & one of the best views in NYC from the dentist's chair make a visit to Dr. Loflin's office an experience. It might sound crazy, but the entire visit was nothing short of therapeutic. When was the last time anyone said that about going to the dentist?!?

View from the chair, lights off for comfort when they step out and great vibes!

Dr. Apa is a phenomenal and highly skilled dentist. I have a cross-bite. I have had traditional…read morebraces as a child. My teeth shifted back over the years. And most recently I've had Invisalign 2x. The Invisalign worsened my bite by narrowing it and dropping my top lip down and lopsided. A family dentist also "buffed" my two front teeth down and crooked because I had a minor chip, and it made my cross-bite even more apparent. This has bothered me for years. I avoided smiling in pictures. I knew immediately when I saw that Dr. Apa could aesthetically and functionally fix a cross-bite that I needed to know more and set up a consult. I wish I had seen it sooner and not wasted my time and money with retainers. I'm from Philly. It's not that far to have the best dentists in the world work on your smile. There is a parking garage right across the street. Five visits and you're done: Consult, prep for temporaries, go back to adjust the temporaries to your and the Dr's liking, install day, and go back the next day to check on everything. It really is a seamless process. They thought of every detail to make you as comfortable as possible. I opted for laughing gas. Initially I filled out a preference questionnaire. All of his team from the front of the office to the ceramists play a huge part in how exceptional your experience will be. Dr. Apa went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. I love my results. I cried tears of joy because I am so grateful to him and his whole team for fixing my bite, smile and improving my asymmetry. Hands down, these are legit the nicest people I have ever met. They truly care. The whole process went smoothly from consultation until I had my final onlays installed. Dr. Apa eased all of my fears and concerns of ruining my actual teeth. I was terrified of having little stumps for teeth. He reassured me that is not the case. My teeth look exactly the same underneath. The doctors called to check up on me throughout the process. Everything is done in the labs on premises. They provided me with custom night guards with the temps and a new one with my permanent onlays. All of the doctors and assistants consult on your case so they know every little detail that is going on. I was concerned about sensitivity too and was fortunate not to experience any. If I did, they had that covered too with a prescription on hand in case I needed it. Everything was covered from A to Z from the moment I walked in the door. It was concierge-style service. Dr. Apa and his team gave me the teeth I should have been born with. They look so natural and are a better version of my teeth. It was the best decision I have ever made. My only regret is not doing it sooner. Do your research. It really is worth going to the best in the world.

I am writing this review out of genuine disappointment and concern regarding the business practices…read moreat Central West Dentistry, as I paid for services that were not delivered as described. I returned to this practice in August 2025 specifically because of my past positive experience with Dr. Martin, who had always been sensitive to my severe dental anxiety. For my August appointment, booked for a cleaning, exam, and X-rays, I confirmed in advance that I required nitrous for the entire visit along with Valium. Instead, I was met with repeated pressure from a hygienist I had never met before about "concerns" with my teeth and gums, even though Dr. Martin had already examined me and said everything "looked good." The hygienist left mid-appointment to discuss insurance coverage with the office manager, leaving me waiting. When I asked to proceed with the cleaning I originally booked, she turned the nitrous off, switched to oxygen and I ultimately left without the full service. Because I care deeply about my dental health, I later scheduled Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing for today, the deep cleaning their hygienist recommended. I was told it would take two hours to complete all four quadrants and cost roughly $350 per quadrant. I prepaid nearly $2,000 and confirmed, in writing, that I required nitrous for the entire appointment and did not want any upsells mid appointment. Despite receiving multiple confirmations (two emails, three calls, and a text), the experience again fell far short. I flew into NYC specifically for this appointment and timed my anxiety medication with the appointment time to ensure treatment would go smoothly. When I arrived early at their request, the hygienist attempted to rush me into treatment before the nitrous had taken effect, contradicting their claim of understanding dental anxiety care. Then I was told I would receive injections to numb my entire mouth, something never mentioned during the booking process, not listed online in the procedure description, and not disclosed in any of our prior conversations. I declined and requested standard numbing gel. The "two-hour" Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing began at 4:02 pm and ended at 4:32 pm, 30 minutes total. Literally. I was then told the reason was simply, "Your teeth are in such good shape." This is especially concerning given that four months earlier, I was told (during a basic cleaning) that my gums were in such poor condition they needed to stop mid-appointment to verify insurance approval for a deep cleaning. Yet now, after paying cash upfront, all four quadrants were completed in just half an hour. It feels inconsistent at best, and at worst, like a bait-and-switch situation. I also paid $215 for nitrous oxide. Based on the photo I took, the machine displayed 60% nitrous / 30% oxygen. At no point did I feel the typical physical effects one would expect--especially when combined with a prescribed sedative. It raises the question of whether the nitrous tank was empty or improperly administered. I've had nitrous EVERY dental appointment for 20 years - i know how I'm supposed to feel, I repeatedly said nothing was coming and I was fully alert, yet another scam. To summarize, I paid nearly $2,000 for: * A two-hour Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing that lasted only 30 minutes * Four quadrants of scaling, when realistically only one or two may have been addressed * Nitrous oxide that did not appear to be delivered as represented * An exam I was told was required, yet I never saw the dentist at all. Oh and on my statement, it stated I received an Ibero scan - never happened and the receptionist said, well you weren't charged for it. LOL. I am requesting reimbursement for the nitrous charge, two of the four quadrants, and the exam fee. Patients have choices in dental care. If a practice advertises expertise in treating dental anxiety, the staff should be trained to actually deliver on that promise. Unfortunately, my experience demonstrated the opposite.
