He guided me and my fiance through color choices and he definitely knows what he is talking about when it comes to choices like that. I would come to Steve over any other place. He threw in a few free things for me and my groomsmen because I bought a suit through him. Suit was sized and tailored to my size and this is the only place with an in house tailor. When I find places like the haberdasher, it does a couple of things. First, it gives me continued faith in humanity and it also gives me greater faith in the free enterprise system! Mr. Goodwin, the dapper proprietor of the establishment is a super cool, super chill gentleman who has an eye for fashion and takes really good care of his customers! He's like a modernized version of the monopoly guy, sans the pretentious monocle. That said, he's the dude who could pull off a top hat and monocle with the sophistication of not the monopoly guy! This place is a small storefront just off Yakima Avenue, that apparently has been here for 20 years. He worked at Nordstrom for many years, and now has officially been open doing his own gig for longer than he worked at Nordstrom! He specializes in helping gentlemen look their best. They carry an incredible selection of shirts, ties, pants, suits and accoutrements including hats, scarves and cuff links. Everything is custom tailored and included in the price - as he says, "This isn't men's warehouse"! Everything here is definitely on the pricey end, but as with most things, you're paying for quality and for a bit of customization. It's the sort of place that when you stop by before a wedding or get together, he'll hook you up with exactly what you need and make sure you look like a boss doing it! Perhaps the best thing about this place however, was the fact that while I was in there, there must've been five or seven people who wakes through that he knew by name and knew exactly the sort of stuff they'd be looking for. Is the big box stores continue to struggle, it's places like this they should continue to do well. Have shopped on multiple occasions. Steve is very personable, and I have close relatives who have shopped at his establishment before I was born. The clothing sold can be considered high end. Definitely the best men's shop in Yakima, however am not completely satisfied with the assortment of sizes offered. Many items I liked and wanted to purchase but were simply much too large and were not carried in other average/small sizes. Good clothing, lack of inventory/size assortment. Will shop again. I Can't stand going to the mall. Brisk shopping with a private consultant (Mr. Goodwin)who keeps up on his fashion sense better than that of any of the box store agents. This is a shop of the highest service and quality level in the valley. If it's not your size, fit, or color Mr. Goodwin will tell you "no, I don't think so".
