After test driving the car, we realized it had some serious mechanical issues. We were still very interested in the car and had talked to the owner of the dealership about fixing the mechanical issues and then we would purchase the car the next day. The next morning we kept trying to get ahold of the owner, but we were only able to get a mechanic on the phone, who said he was only instructed to fix one of the problems we had spoken about with the owner the day before. After a few more hours of not getting a phone call back from anyone, we decided to stop in. The owner was in the office and tried to make excuses for why he had not returned our calls. When we asked if the issues with the car had been addressed he tried to convince us there were no issues and that the car was in perfect condition. My husband, a mechanic himself, knew there was something wrong with the car. The owner obviously thought he could sucker us into buying the car and not fix whatever problem there was. When my husband tried to shake his hand and say thanks anyways (because we might have come back in the future to look at other cars) , the owner refused to shake his hand and told him to " just get the hell out". We were shocked that he was speaking like that, and we started out the door. As we were walking out he yelled after us, trying to provoke my husband, saying "you can't even pay for this car yourself you f@#&king mooch, you have to borrow money from someone else." Which is completely untrue. We wanted to finance the car as an opportunity to build our credit, even though we could have paid for it outright. Needless to say, after that rough exchange of words, we will never be stepping foot on that lot again, not recommending them to anyone. Beware working with this dealer, as they are rude and extremely unprofessional.

The brakes were bad all the way around! All 4 brakes! The mechanic said when he inspected it that they were metal on metal when we purchased it. So he sold us a car with unsafe, terrible brakes. Metal on metal, no pad left on any of the brakes. Cost of 4 new rotors and a brake job: 800.00$ Ed Dunne, when confronted about this, claimed the brakes were "just fine" and called me and my fiancee liars. Ed Dunne sells unsafe cars to unsuspecting, trusting people. Please think about the type of person who would sell anyone a car with 4 bad brakes... Only the worst type of person would sell a car with 4 bad brakes to anyone. He couldn't care less if they get in an accident and become crippled or die. If he did, he wouldn't be selling a car with bad brakes. But he made an extra 800 bucks! See how well that works for Ed Dunne? The man, seriously, has no conscience. Long story short: If your even thinking about doing business with this man, Ed Dunne, simply hit the gas and keep on driving till you find another dealership. He lies, cheats people and sells people unsafe vehicles, all to make MORE profit! He is the worst kind of salesman and the type of man who gives car sales people the bad reputation they often don't deserve. And he gets extremely rude when you call him on the carpet for the shoddy vehicles he peddles to unsuspecting people. He called me an as8hole and told me he wouldn't ever sell to me again. He told me to get the fu*k off his lot. Couldn't believe it! Thank God is all I have to say! Ed Dunne also has a referral program where he gives 100 bucks to anyone who refers a friend, etc, to purchase a car. The person who referred us never even got her 100 bucks. We asked him if she got her money, and he lied to us and told us she did. We called her and asked her and she never got a dime of that referral money. So Ed Dunne is simply a liar. She also told us she purchased 3 cars there and after all the problems she had with the last vehicle, and not getting her referral money, said she wasn't ever going back to that man for anything. much less another car. He does not treat customers well at all. Total contempt would be the best way to describe how he views customers. So between me, her and my fiancee, there is 3 people who won't ever get cheated by Ed Dunne ever again! Ed Dunne is a bad person, with poor character and no morals. That is the only type of person that can sell a car with no brakes to unsuspecting shoppers. Good people couldn't do that because they have a conscience. I myself, couldn't do it. It wasn't a mistake on his part. He knew they were bad. But he made the decision to sell it in its unsafe condition and roll the dice with our lives. It's just how he does business. He is a bad person with no morals. Put his dealership in your rear view mirror now and drive to the next dealership. He will screw you too if you give him the opportunity. Don't! And lastly, Ed Dunne sold us a car with outstanding recalls on all of the airbags without informing us. I guess this is ok, if you want airbags that shoot shrapnel into your face in an accident. Not sure about you, but that's my least favorite thing to happen when the airbags go off. We took it to Macgrath Honda in Crystal Lake and had it fixed for free. Total time: 77 minutes. And that's 77 minutes of free work that Ed Dunne, if he was a good person with good morals, would surely have gotten done prior to selling the vehicle. Especially since it was free. But he couldn't care less whether his cars are road safe or not. All that matters to Ed Dunne is making a few extra hundred bucks on each sale. Safety be damned! He couldn't care less if you buy a car and die a half an hour later because it had no brakes or the airbags shoot shrapnel into your face on impact. He got paid and that's all that matters to this used car salesman. Buyer beware!

I had not purchased a used car in a few years and this dealership was new to me as it was out of my home state. He was very patient with me and while the car itself was very nice, it was Shahid's customer service that truly made me comfortable making the purchase. I purchased a certified pre owned Acura MDX Type S with less than 7k miles on 7/25. I was lowballed on my trade. My trade had low miles and looked new still. Had one small dent on the hood, they tried to say that was the reason they gave me thousands less. They put that car on their lot, didn't repair it! That's not the worst part. The day I took delivery, I pointed out interior pieces that were damaged, the car was filthy as well. Stained seats, carpet showed stains from snow, window were filthy. Miguel my salesman did his best to clean it but, it still wasn't good. I purchased a 70k vehicle, why wasn't it cleaned properly. Two days after having the vehicle I noticed a roaring noise from the brakes. Day after that my infotainment system started to freeze, go dark, not function and wouldn't connect to my phone. I went to the dealership and spoke with Sergio the finance manager who assured me all my concerns would be addressed. He called the service manager, they had me make an appointment to drop my car off, this was on Wednesday 7/29. On Friday 7/31 I dropped off my vehicle and was given a loaner. Was also an MDX so I was okay with that. Jason told me they'd be in contact. A few days went by and I heard nothing, so I attempted to call Jason. I left a voicemail, never got a call back. I called the next day, a young lady took a message and said she give it to Jason, no call back. I called again after work, finally got Jason. Told me the technician could not figure out what was wrong with my infotainment system, he had also called Acura support. Jason told me he'd call me the next day, which was Thursday or Friday with an update. He never called. On Saturday I called the finance manager, asked can he get me an update on my vehicle. He texted me back. Didn't even call me, to say Jason said he tried to call you twice. I said I never received a call from anyone at McGrath. Finance manager never text back after. I finally got a text from Jason saying their phone was acting up. He said they were going to replace my infotainment system. Still needed to do the other repairs and after have my car detailed. All of that took a week. Yesterday, Friday 8/14 I received a text my vehicle was ready. I was excited. My car spent more time at the dealership than in my possession and it's almost time to make my first payment. I get there and was told the brakes were not done. Jason told me via text that the technician found corrosion on the rotors but, they wouldn't replace them. For me to monitor them and if they get worse, bring my car back. Bring my car back after it sat here for two weeks? At this point I just wanted my car and wanted to get out of there. I open the door and my excitement turned to confusion. The car was never detailed as promised. The interior looked exactly the same as when I dropped it off on 7/31! I called Jason over and asked why wasn't the detail done. You told me it would be done after the technician completed the work so it wouldn't get dirty. His reply, our detail guys gave it a courtesy cleaning! WHAT!!! that is not what was promised. He said, let me talk to the manager. Came back and said, well they said the car was detailed prior to delivery. I showed him everything again and asked does this car look like it was detailed to you? He replied, I can only do what they tell me. You can talk to the managers. I just shook my head, got into my vehicle and drove away. I have owned a couple Acura's prior that I purchased and had serviced at McGrath Acura Westmont, my cwr buying experiences were great and the service was excellent, every time. I went to McGrath Morton Grove because it was near my job. and I figured same name should be the same level of service, I was so wrong. What should have been happiness and excitement over my new vehicle, turned quickly into the worst experience I have ever had. Only reason I gave two stars is because Miguel my salesman tried to make my experience the best that he could. Should have followed my first mind and went to McGrath Westmont.

I came to drop my Hyundai Kona off for a recall on the engine. My car had been stalling and the…read moreissue started very recently, just about two weeks (1 month new to Chicago). I dropped it off with Carlos and he estimated my car to be done that day so I waited around. Unfortunately, it was not done that day, but estimated it could be a few days to weeks since it's an engine problem, BUT I was able to utilize the dealerships shuttle service home (a huge help throughout this whole experience)! The next day, I got a text from Carlos asking to approve 2 services on the car, an oil change ($109) and a crankshaft position sensor ($451). Carlos did mention that replacing the crankshaft position sensor would help diagnose the other problems with the car. I declined both services for now because, 1. I am unemployed and 2. I was just hoping to fix the engine. Going through the notes, it looked like my engine had passed their tests with flying colors (so no replacement despite the stalling and recall). Because I declined both services, my car was ready for pick up. I was able to utilize the shuttle service again! Once I got back to the service area, I paid the $250 for the car inspection/labor. Carlos then let me know that the reason my car is stalling is not because of the engine but because the crankshaft position sensor needs to be replaced. IF I knew this was the reason for the stalling engine, I would have opted for the replacement of the position sensor. Anyway, I opted for the crankshaft position sensor to being replaced. So once again, I utilized the shuttle service! This time, I got JOE COZZI as my shuttle driver. Let me tell you, this man is a saint and super knowledgeable with all things cars. During my ride home, Joe asked was going on with my car, I explained, he said check to see if you have a warranty with carmax. They are always trying to offer their warranty. He said call them as soon as you get to the house. And I did. I had purchased a 5 year warranty with carmax and a replacement of a crankshaft position sensor fell under the warranty. All I had to do was let Carlos know to call my insurance and pay my deductible. I would have never thought to look into whether or not I still had a warranty on my car. So I am extremely thankful for Joe for asking questions and sharing his knowledge with me that day. Side Note: Joe picked me up from home via shuttle service when my car was done! So I extend all my thanks out to JOE COZZI for saving me nearly $500 I didn't have.

Via the website, we expressed interest in a specific used car that matched all the things we wanted…read more- manual transmission and color made this a very unique find. Was immediately contacted about coming in for a test drive. Scheduled a test drive and, day of, while on our 90 minute drive to dealership, was contacted and told that the car couldn't be located. The car couldn't be found for two days. Eventually it was supposedly located at some outside vendor...for the next two weeks it was a bunch of run arounds and we eventually found a similar car at a cheaper price with fewer miles and better upgrades through another dealer. Their overall organization needs improvement and the people who answer the phones need a serious 101 on costumer service. Just an exhausting overall experience. Will not consider this dealership in the future.
