***Buyers Beware***
My experience with Xchange Motors occurred in March 2021, I am just now able to write a review because we have been in litigation and they are still avoiding responsibility. So I been grated permission to share my story publicly and I will do so on every single website I can review them!!
March 2021 I bought a 2008 Suburau Impreza from Xchange Motors, the car was driven less than 500 miles and I owned it for 11 days when the engine blew up! Illinois law requires used vehicles be sold with a 15-day/500-mile powertrain warranty to protect consumers who buy used cars.
So I contacted Xchange Motors informed them of the problem and asked them what they were going to do the rectify the problem. I contacted them three times and they refused to return or fix the car. They told me I bought it "as is" and they weren't going to do anything. Illinois Law States that when selling a car "as is: the dealership must state exactly what is wrong with the car and they obviously didn't do that, because if they did I wouldn't of paid $20K for the car! BTW...the engine repair cost is at least $11k.
So that's when I contacted an attorney and learned that I signed an Arbitration Agreement. An Arbitration Argument is when you give up your rights to sue them in a court of law! It is completely voluntary but shady dealerships sneak the arbitration agreement in the contact (in several places) and act like you have to sign it, but you don't!
So two years later my case came up with an Arbitration Judge, of course every representative from the dealership lied to avoid responsibility. However, the Judge ruled in MY FAVOR and they were ordered to fix the car at no cost grater than the purchase price. In classic shady Xchange Motors fashion they have ignored the ruling because there is no one to enforce the ruling.
Over two and half years later that car is still sitting in my driveway unused and not fixed! Xchange Motors owes me thousands of dollars and they are still avoiding responsibility.
This dealership is shady, avoids responsibility and treats their customers poorly when they have to take responsibility. Oh sure, they were "great" when they were making money off of me!
Don't sign an arbitration argument with this dealership or any, its your right to refuse! Xchange Motors give me my money!!! YOU LOST IN ARBITRATION NOW PAY UP! read more
