Don't even call this number for a quote (805-668-9759). I called to get a quote for a duplicate key for my car and had a bad connection so I hung up and figured I'd call him later. An hour later he calls me demanding money saying that I never paid him for a job he did. He never touched my car, he never even looked at my key for duplication and I've never met him. However, he calls me up an hour later (caller ID) demanding me to pay him via Venmo. Not sure what kind of scam this guy is pulling but don't ever call this number. I'm guessing he thinks he can bully money out of people. read more

WOW! they were great, out to our house in 1/2 an hour and had us in fast even though the house didn't make it easy for him. I own a small vacation condo that I rent and stay in on occasion. Recently, it was remodeled, and the door hardware as well as locks for the owners closets were changed out. The new keys were supposed to have been at the front desk; however, they were the wrong keys. I tried every other possible key of the same brand to determine if the keys had gotten swapped, but no luck. Therefore, I called both local locksmiths. The first had a voice message, but the second one, Sterling Locksmith, answered! Issac, the owner, arrived within minutes! He was able to open the locked closet and solve my predicament, quickly. As a business owner myself, he was the most unprofessional business owner I have ever dealt with. I had a jammed door lock and called to have him come look at it. When he arrived he instantly started drilling at the door before introducing himself or saying who he was with. I was busy with customers and didn't see him right away. By the time I was able to come see what was going on, he said he was going trying to fix the existing lock instead of replacing the whole thing. He told me it was going to be $150 if he could (which he said he thinks it was working and was already almost done with the job), otherwise it would be $300. Without providing a quote or consulting me before he started he just did it and told me to pay the $150. I was again busy with customers and so I paid him between them. When I went to look at the lock and check it, the whole thing was scratched up and looked awful, with super loose pieces and was so incredibly poorly done. I immediately called him and asked what happened and why it looked the way it did and he instantly got defensive and told me because I didn't pay the $300 to "do it right". He completely argued with me and told me, "who cares what it looks like, does it lock easier now?". Wow - if that's how you care about your product and the service you provide, that's really sad. After 20 minutes of arguing with him and him basically yelling at me, he refused to fix or replace it if I wasn't going to pay an additional $150. Later I found out that I can't even unlock the door with my key anymore. When I called him about it, he again got extremely defensive and told me that it was because I didn't pay the $300 to fix the mechanism. I explained that it is broken and won't unlock now (when it did before) and he refuses to fix it without me paying the additional $150. Every interaction with him has been extremely unprofessional, he is instantly defensive, argumentative and refuses to listen to anything I say, just talking over me. Now I have a chewed up looking lock that you can't unlock from the outside using a key and I am out $150. Please don't ever use him. He is a crook. Also, look at his stock photos, it's not even his work...be careful of this guy. read more
