Just got a new key for my car! I called and was told my quote (around 170 for a 2013 Mazda 2) and I was happy with that price. I had lost my key for my car so he was unable to copy it, but that did not stop him from being able to create a key for me. The guy came within an hour and had a new key prepped for me within 30 minutes of arriving. I called sterling locksmith to get a replacement key fob for my car. He said he could do the job. He then asked for a down payment for the key and said he needed to order the key. I paid for the key ahead of time. He attempted to make the key he ordered and made two different trips. Finally he said the key does not work but I would still have to pay for the key anyways. I explained to him that I don't think it is fair for me to pay for something that does not work. I asked for a refund and told me he would not do that. He got angry and frustrated towards me and made me feel very uncomfortable. He got aggressive with me and went on to say that I have a new car and that I should think about the little people and that I was spoiled essentially. I work hard so that I can have a new car. I found him to be very unprofessional, sold me something that did not work for $200 and refused to make it right and give me a refund. Unhappy with the service from this company. I had a lock rekeyed and asked to have 6 more Keyes to match. The service technician said his key machine was not working and could not make extra keys. Seriously you are a locksmith???? I was charged for the install and then a few days later the lock did not work. I would NOT recommend this locksmith. Not sure why I chose to go with them , when I couldn't get an estimate before they came out. It was cold outside and I have two toddlers and was desperate so I googled a locksmith near me and found one of the first ones having a 4.7 rating. I thought it would be a good try. I was completely wrong. The locksmith came out grumpy/mad. Without a word being said to him , he was in a terrible mood. So he begins to try, 10/15 min go and jt didn't seem as if he knew what he was doing, I told him if he couldn't get it , I'd be ok and get a hotel He insisted he'd keep trying. Another 10 min goes by and I said he could stop trying and I'd get a hotel. Someone he worked with ended up calling me to lower the price because they were adamant about opening my apt door. I was surprised they wanted 200 at first , than the coworker who called me dropped 100 dollars because I was asking them to stop. They than called him to let him know on the price agreement. They spoke in another language. No discrimination here, but would make me feel a lot more comfortable if I was aware of what was being said. I agreed on the lower price and he kept trying . Another 5 minutes goes by and nothing. I finally put my foot down and felt bad but also didn't because of how unprofessional this man was being. But he said "No if I don't get it open I will call my boss to come" .... I said that wouldn't be necessary because Im getting a hotel. He replied with " you'd rather save 40$ on a hotel than sleep in your own bed" . Wow! Tif that wasn't judgmental. Finally he stopped trying with a huge grudge against us. Then I was told I owed them 29$ . ??? Ok I understand time and gas , but it would of been nice to know before he even came out. So we proceed to pay him and he takes minutes to find my change and in the process calls his coworker/boss and hands me the phone to talk to that person. WOW, that person was persuading me in the rudest manner to let him open my door, talking about this and that. I put my foot down because first of all , im out of work due to a car accident injury so spending money on a locksmith wasn't ideal but my little sister needed to get in because she had school the next morning, and she despises missing school. Secondly the locksmith was just outrageously rude the entire time. Why would I give my business to a company like that. I had lost my key fob for my 2014 Camry and called around to 4-5 places. Seemed like the median cost was about $350 for the key to be replaced. Isaac had quoted me $250 over the phone and I of course decided to settle on having him come and replace the fob being that it was $100 more affordable that the other places I had spoken to. After the fob was replaced Isaac said that it would be $350. I was like "oh", and he then informed me that there was $100 fee for him coming out. Which DOES make sense, however, when someone is specifically inquiring about pricing that $100 should be broken down in the initial quote. I feel like I was told a lower number so that I would commit and then after the work was done it was like "surprise" there's a fee I didn't tell you about. I would have ended up paying the same price likely anywhere else which is why I didn't get super angry about it but I still feel like it was not entirely honest. The key itself can not be used to physically unlock the vehicle and sometimes my car will say that it's not inside the car when it is.
