Erewhon - 4/9/26. When your Sweet Husband surprises you with chicken soup + elixir. Delicious and overpriced. As anticipated lol.

I worked at Erewhon nearly a decade ago and have been a shopper ever since…read more.. Let's start with what should be obvious. Produce. Erewhon's advantage here is that they can get produce from small, local farms. Read the label, but outside of that, avoid the produce. Their tonic bar is ahead of the game. Most smoothies are sugar bombs disguised through "healthy" ingredients, but if you can read through them like Peyton Manning at the line, you can find one's worth ordering. The cafe is 80% hit and 20% miss. From the taquitos to the buffalo cauliflower...they pack a punch. But then you get the chicken pot pie, and you'll learn to appreciate the frozen ones. When it comes to grocery items, they are always a step ahead. Whether you want Jose Andres potato chips or chicken noodle soup the way abuelita makes it, they've got you covered. Really, Erewhon is a store with value if you have the eye to spot it. If you want to hate on it because influencers love to post "and we're at the most expensive grocery store in the world," or you choose to love it because you feel special for being able to afford it, you're wrong either way. Find your reason to appreciate it because it meets your needs.

This is a larger one. But the same thing goes for this one as I would say for any other Erwhon:…read more Just another overpriced Erewhon. To be fair, the prepared food is pretty good and it's clean with a nice ambience. The service is usually pretty good as well. The downside is that it's very very very very overpriced. I don't like using repetition of words like this, but in this case, I think it's relevant. It's nice in terms of window shopping but most things in there I would never buy because they are not worth the price in my opinion.

Bookmarked for future trips near Malibu!…read more Stopped in for lunch and ordered the wings and the Wagyu double burger, and both were outstanding. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, while the wings were equally satisfying and crispy (they were able to make me some with no sauce). It was exactly the kind of meal I was hoping for after a full day at the beach and on the road. The location has plenty of parking, which is always a plus in this area, and there is a nice outdoor dining space in front where you can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air while you eat. What really stood out was the customer service. One of the employees working near the deli area, I didn't catch his name, but I remember his distinctive earring and tattoos, provided exceptional service. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that customers had a great experience. The entire store was clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. Even the restrooms were spotless, which says a lot about how well the business is managed. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely be stopping back the next time I'm in the area.

Unacceptable Profiling and Harassment at Trancas Country Market…read more I'm typically the kind of person who only leaves positive reviews and if I have a negative experience as a patron, I will just chat with the staff and not post about it online, but this experience was so egregious. I felt compelled to post and share my experience. I experienced blatant, humiliating racial profiling at Vintage Grocers in Trancas Canyon before I even fully set foot inside the store. As the only person of color present, I was immediately singled out. The cashier directed an employee (bagger) to shadow me aisle-by-aisle, monitoring my every movement throughout the entire shopping trip. When I directly confronted the employee about why I was being trailed across the store, his response was dismissive: "Oh, it's cool because this is what he does to everyone." That explanation was entirely hollow. No other patron was watched, followed, or subjected to surveillance, only me. Targeting and stalking a paying customer based solely on race is degrading, discriminatory, and completely unacceptable. A neighborhood market serving the Malibu community should not foster an environment where patrons of color are automatically treated with suspicion. I will not spend another dollar here, and anyone who values basic respect, dignity, and fair treatment should take their business elsewhere. Management needs to address the conduct of their front end staff immediately or maybe Management and ownership is the problem and the staff is just following directives/mission of vintage grocers. Me personally, I could never work for an establishment that encourages this type of behavior no minimum wage or high salary job is worth being a person of low character and morality for a check.

I purchased the salad for myself and the Mac/Cheese for my niece. The cashier near the food & deli area was closed so I went to a regular checkout line. The customer care of the cashier was unwelcoming. I had to make her speak. I went to scan my Amazon code and she told me I wouldn't need it and proceeded to continue ringing up my items. I didn't think anything of it until she belted out over $40 total. She ignored that I told her I had a salad and still rang it all up as hot food. I didn't want to hold up her line so I got my receipt and change. I stepped aside and walked towards the eating utensils reviewed my receipt with my husband. I went back to tell her of the error. She had left her register or even better- maybe a manager noticed her rudeness and took her away. I knew the 2 coconut waters were $13. But being charged $28 for a hot meal in total when I had a small salad & small Mac/ch, ridiculous! She even saw the dressing and lettuce because I couldn't get the top closed securely. This is a lesson well learned! I'm not going to stop visiting this thriving shopping area not Whole Foods but I definitely will not go in the checkout line of this cashier. If the store did an audit of each cashier of May 25 between 11:30a and 2:00 pmand check for a charge for the aforementioned, they'll definitely pinpoint the clerk. I also got $40 cash back when I checked out. I can't write a description because it'll get flagged like the original post was. I had to delete the description of the employee. My rating would otherwise be a 5 but for her attitude, incompetence and lack of integrity. Everyone else and the whole vibe is awesome.

For sure its worth to try this place! It always gives me a little feeling of a marche en plein air in Nice, France. The same exact vibes when you walk slowly, enjoy the atmosphere, talk to the very friendly and helpful vendors, find beautiful fresh produce and somehow leave with much more than you planned. C'est la vie! Ohhhh and the jewelry!! So many jolis bijoux, artistic and unique pieces that you don't see everywhere. Of course I have to stop and look every single time and spend very long time here as usual. So Fresh produce, unique finds, Malibu views and that little joie de vivre... after 15+ years, j'adore toujours cet endroit!

We're there 1-2 times a month with a few of our dogs, plus a couple of pups we sponsor from a local shelter. And every time we're there, Deb swings by to meet the pups and help us boost them on social. She's the best. The Market itself has such an easy, happy vibe. Produce, flowers, avocado toast, vintage finds--you name it. And of course, that classic Malibu weather doesn't hurt. It's usually good...and often downright perfect.

I had them make the smoothie without collagen as that is a beef product. It literally took 21 minutes on a Wednesday. It was ok, a little sweet with the stevia. I'll stick with the healthy superfruit smoothie from Toastique. The salad was good with the figs standing out and the sandwich was delicious. Lots of avocados. Ambiance: everyone is there for the prepared foods and smoothies. The grocery aisles were fairly empty. There's a few bar stools by the entrance so we ate there but most take to go. Good Box Organics is not only convenient, with the food being delivered right to my door, but is entirely healthy as well. The owners Samantha and Mark started this business in 2010 and have a mission of creating a healthier future. The best part is they work with local farmers to get all their produce and find multiple ways to give back to the community. They also have their Support a School program where they donate 5% back from every box sold. They have different boxes to choose from and different sizes as well. Some boxes are fruits only and others include fruits and vegetables. I went with the half size fruit and vegetable box. Before delivery, you get an email of what is going to be inside the box and the best part for me is, it includes recipes of what you can make with the items in your box. My box included an avocado, pears, apples, oranges, broccoli, cilantro, pink chard, and lettuce. One of the recipes included Baked Broccoli Parmesan Fritters which I am definitely going to try out because I always need new ideas for meals with having two small children. The delivery fee for their boxes is $6.95 or you can pick up the boxes for free at many of their local pickup locations. The service area covers the greater Los Angeles Area , San Fernando Valley, Pasadena, and Conejo Valley so definitely something for everyone!
