    Mahi mahi tacos
    Cheryl C.

This is my 3rd time purchasing food here and its time to write a review based on my experience. Helpful and nice staff. Ill preface by saying that I am a good cook. Purchase #1. Brussel sprouts and salmon. Was not impressed by Brussel sprouts. Soggy. The salmon was ok. Perhaps because I just bought my house and it was my first time using my oven. So I mightve overcooked the salmon. Purchase #2. Chilean sea bass. I pan seared it with lemon sauce. Amazing. Next time will get the bigger filet so that it sears more evenly and all parts stay flakey on the inside. Purchase #3. Mahi mahi filets. I made blackened mahi tacos and the fish was so tasty. I am looking forward to trying more items. There are so many choices to choose from! Next purchase is the scallops. I let my items thaw in the sink in their packages for a few hours before cooking!

This update is only for the last three pictures of boxes of appetizers. Mom bought these and served them to us. She also bought 4 other boxes which we haven't tried yet. The empanadas are terrible and they never get rid of them since they were terrible 2 years ago. The ravioli says four cheese but I only taste ricotta with no flavor at all. The baked Brie and apple chutney shows a picture of the apple chutney in a bowl on the side. Mom looked and re looked for the apples separately and they were not in the package. After tasting one it tasted like nothing in the middle. You need a magnifying glass to actually see any filing at all. Waste of money and time on all three. Stick to the fish and meat in my opinion.

Ever try getting some help at the Deli counter? I am repeatedly ignored while I stand there waiting to be at least acknowledged. This morning was no exception. It's almost like a game to come home and review my receipt to see which items never made it home. Like last Thursday's rotisserie chicken never made it to my cart but it was on the receipt. Or being charged for the "big" pack of gum when I bought the small one. Or, also, today, the sign on the Asparagus showed $1.99/lb -- and I verified there was no digital coupon required. Yet, came home to find I was charged $4.99/lb. And finally, just today, I selected the digital coupon for corned beef at $3.49/lb but of course I was charged $3.99/lb. It doesn't end with this store. BTW, if you're ever in the checkout lane and the cashier is named Karen you should go to another lane. That is, unless you have all ding-dong day. I have never seen anyone move more slowly in my life. I hate this store now.

The juice bar team never pays attention when customers are standing at the counter or walk up. I always have to get their attention. And often they don't make the juices or smoothies correctly. And my biggest gripe is this location never has fish on hot bar. They have all the meat and chicken but for pescatarians or vegans, they have very limited options. Why does this location not order fish for hot bar? It's the only Whole Foods in the area I've seen without fish. They've maybe had it 4 or 5 times in the past two years. He brought home a wrapped piece of cornbread, a pound container of vegetable chili, and a tiny lemon bar slice. For $15. What?! He reported that service was good. And the presentation for the little lemon bar in a fancy bakery box was lovely. My sticker shock had me questioning take out as a concept. Their soups are priced at $7.99 a pound, which seems on the high side. The soup was tasty, if a bit spicier than I expected. I did enjoy the beans included with the vegetables for added body and flavor. For me, the cornbread was too dry and flaky to be fully enjoyable. That was the least favorite of the items for my eating experience. Crumbs were flying everywhere as I tried to eat it. The lemon bar was overly petite for $5, in my humble opinion. It was very tasty, and not too sweet. The texture was on the dense side. My preference is a little lighter & fluffier. Overall, I appreciated that DH was searching for softer items I could eat while going through my dental issues. The cost seemed high for a meal that I mostly enjoyed, but didn't send my tastebuds to a heavenly place.
