Went in to talk about getting my car tinted and a new stereo was fine the first day set the appointment and today being the day came in and when someone was ready didn't even have personality no how's your day or anything lacked personality and didn't ask if I had any questions didn't even ask what percent of tint I wanted on my car kinda just disappointed will update once I pick my car up. *** update got the car and the tint looks great the customer service and definitely made me feel valued and made my experience better read more

Came in to get led projector fogs and aftermarket horn installed. +1 For being referred to stereo king by a few friends. +1 For quick install. +1 Decent price. +1 The place know what they are doing when it comes to stereo (had a few friends get their install here) - 1/2 for not giving me a walk-through when install was done until I asked about if the fog lights were aimed correctly. Then was told the fogs were just installed and not aimed but they look like the right height. Then was told by the installer that it was easy to re-aim with a long flat head screwdriver and showed me the supposed hole where I could reach the adjustment knob. Waited until dark to see how they were aimed. Ended up being too low. The hole was not the one where I could access the adjustment knob. -1/2 For giving me false info about the hole that I was supposed to use to re-aim the fogs the first time because the second time I came in to get them actually aimed, he actually showed me the clips that was suppose to be taken off to open up a flap to be able to aim the fogs and showed me the short philips screwdriver he used to re-aim the fogs. -1/2 For staff leaning on my car. Don't know about anyone else but I do not like things/people leaning on my car. -1/2 For aiming them too high when I came back to get them aimed. It doesn't seem like these kids know what level the fogs are suppose to be aimed at and how to test it. Ended up re-aiming the fogs myself that night knowing how to access the adjustment knob myself now. I would do another -1/2 but yelp doesn't do half star and maybe I am being too harsh. But why another -1/2? I set the volume the radio to 1 and have my bass knob how I always have it. When I paid and got in the car the volume was changed and the bass knob was messed with as well. Don't know why my radio and bass knob was played with when all I needed was fogs and horn install. Talked to a guy there who said he would pass on the info to the manager as well as give him my phone number so I could be reached. It's been 4 days since then and no phone call as I sit here writing this. $230 I was comfortable with paying because I didn't have the tools or knowledge and wanted a completely satisfied install where I didn't have to redo some stuff myself. That was not the case. But that's just the fog lights. Horn works awesome though. And they do do great jobs with stereo and everything stereo related since my friends had their's installed by this place and are completely satisfied. Maybe I just have bad luck. read more

I am disabled and currently dealing with a torn rotator cuff (can not get surgery due to covid). Asked the guys at Stereo King if they could help me install a dash cam I received at Christmas. They quoted $250. What an absolute rip off. With one arm I eventually got the front camera installed (20 min). I will attempt the rear tomorrow when my shoulder calms down. I went to Stereo King for window tinting on my new car, I was referred by a friend who had all her windows tinted on her new car, no complaints or issues. I only needed the front driver and passenger windows tinted which only took about an hour. A few days later I noticed there were vertical lines on the passenger window and there was a hairline scratch on the film on the driver side so I took it back. It took under an hour for the guy to remove the film and replace it. Again, later I noticed small cluster of bubbles on the passenger side so I called in and was told that because it is applied as a wet application, it took time for the water to evaporate, about 2 weeks. Also since it was during the winter, it would take longer. I gave it over 9 weeks, the bubbles remained and then I started to notice a crinkling sound whenever I rolled the driver window down. I noticed that the film was not cut properly so there was extra film past the window (see photo). I took it back for the 2nd time (but 3rd in total), thinking it would only take about an hour like the last 2 times. It took over 2 hrs! 40 mins into the appointment I was told that the guy was working on the driver window. After 1 hr and 40 mins I went to ask why it was taking so long, I heard one of the guys telling the other guy that the window was too tight or something, but not even directing the comment to me. When it was finally done they did offer me a refund for having to take my car in 3 times. He still applied a new tint so we'll see how that one is. I give them credit for the customer service but wouldn't recommend them for window tinting. 5/26 Update on my window, tint job seems ok but I started to notice the widows not rolling down as smooth as the 2 back windows. I also had noticed that they left 2 dent marks on the inside of my car near the windows. I was going to let that slide cause of how tired I was with dealing with them but now it's another strike against them. Worst decision ever to take my brand new car there! read more

I went in for the first time today to look at car stereo systems. I was approached quickly by a staff member who was very friendly, helpful, and gave a good suggestion on what I should get, given my preferences. I picked one out and it was installed in less than 2 hours and I did not have an appointment. When I came back to pay, I was being helped by a different staff member who was also very friendly and went out to my car with me to show me around the new device. We were very impressed with our sales person, Matt, who clearly explained our options after having checked out the previous system we had. The work was done in a timely manner even though there were some unexpected hurdles that came up which required ingenuity to resolve. well i've been doing business with STEREO KING SINCE 2008,with 2 different cars a chev blazer and chev calivier and I'm thinking of seeing them again for my Subaru Outback,So I hope I can get a better deal from them since this will be #3,but all in all these guys are great,prices seem ok to me and that why I keep going back. Customer service sucks. Went in to ask some questions about getting a mp3 player in a car, the guy wasn't really friendly. I don't know if it's just Salem or what, but been having horrible customer service all around. I had called earlier and the guy sounded a lot more friendly. But when i went in, meh.. didn't really feel like having them play around on my car. He told me what i had bought was pretty basic, etc.. well yeah, im not going to spend over 1000$ on a car stereo set up.. what a waste. WARNING!! I had a full sound system installed in my truck at Stereo King. They added an extra charge to my bill for $50 for a warranty which they told me they would throw in for free. They also set off my trucks emergency alarm system so my alarm went off every time I unlocked my truck and the doors wouldn't lock. I went back into them to have them fix there mistakes and they wouldn't do anything about it. It cost me another $80 to have my truck fixed after they worked on it. Stereo King I am so very disappointed in your business! I will never make the mistake of having Stereo King work on my cars again! read more

I absolutely love these guys!! They totally helped Me out, when I was super upset that car-toys did a crappy job and I paid $2000+ ... The bass was horrible and I could sing over the stinking music!! But I took it to stereo king and they did a great job and a awesome custom box on my BMW that even has my nickname on it ;) .. The bass is loud and amazing (just the way I like it)! And I can now hear the music louder than myself lol. I will recommend any and all to stereo king!! And if I ever need anything else done in the future, I will definitely be going back to them! The customer service here is mediocre at best. I don't have working knowledge on stereos, or the quality and pricing. When I went in I had a general idea of what I was interested in and wanted to buy soon, if not today. I was greeted right away and I headed to look at the decks. He was knowledgeable on stereo systems but seemed impatient and unwilling to explain details and go over my options and the price points. When I asked about the financing options he had a sudden disinterest in spending anymore time trying to help me. I just wanted to know what bureau they check, the average approval score, and the type of loan they were offering-all relevant questions to ask in a store offering financing. He excused himself to go greet another customer who had already been helped after handing me a brochure and suggesting I apply for the financing online or download the app. There were two other guys standing at the counter. This appears to be business as usual. It was obvious to me that he wasn't willing to 'waste' time explaining my options and the pricing to me if I wasn't pre approved or had cash in hand. I stared at the wall of stereos for about 5 minutes and walked around aimlessly for about 3 more. I slowly made my exit and it was suggested, once again, that if I want financing I should go apply online and then they would help me look at a setup. ...ummmm... I'm here, at your JOB, where you work in SALES, at a store that sells car stereo equipment. Part of your job description is CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you make commission, you should be MORE inclined to not just sell, but to help make the sale. This was my first time buying a stereo... I was not trying to waste anyone's time, including my own. I wanted to make a well-informed purchase and get a credit boost. I was a bit discouraged after I left. This tale does have a happy ending: I went down Lancaster a couple blocks and stopped at Car Toys. I had all of my questions answered, and they helped me pick out a stereo system BEFORE I applied for credit, and, AFTER I was confident I would most likely be approved. It was a great experience. These guys are a very mediocre shop for installing car stereos, speaker, etc. I took my vehicle there from a recommendation from a friend and it took a total of three times to get the stereo sounding halfway decent. The first time they installed the speakers and stereo and there was a kind of buzzing sound so we replaced the stereo. That helped but it still sounded off, so they swapped out the speakers with some higher quality speakers at no extra charges other than the installation fees which was 45 a speaker and they replaced 4, by the time everything was done the whole bill came around in the ball park of 400 dollars. I'd rather have someone who knows what they're doing and get it right the first time, so they can't charge me for all these extra 'services'. Okay customer service, that's about it. read more

total rip off! poor customer service. shotty installation of my alarm system. the techs don't know what they are doing. they tried to rip me off my my money. didn't want to give me a receipt. i had to report them to their headquarters. the crossed my wires installing my alarm, so that my tail lights didn't work. every time i turn on mny high beams, my alarm arms and goes off, bery poor customer service. the techs don't know what they are doing. i suppect that any one giving them a high rating, works for the company or are friends of the people wor work there. do not go to this place to have serious work done. they will rip you off! read more
