I highly recommend James. I reached out to over eight electricians (all highly rated and located in Roseville). It was a struggle to find an electrician to show up, give a quote, and show up again to do the job. I told my hairdresser about my electrician woes, and she recommended James. I contacted James, and he replied. (Win) James came out to give me a quote, he was on time, and the quote was affordable. (Win win win). The day of the job, he came on time, he did excellent work, he was kind, he took time to clean up. I'm very happy. Thank you James! read more

Yes a nice guy who is conscientious and did a great job. He is fairly priced and did good work. Very fair and good or.

Our breaker was going out at random times over the course of a few weeks so my husband reached out to James. He was responsive and super knowledgeable. We appreciated his help and would definitely use him again in the future. Thank you! read more

Texted right before scheduled appt for estimate to reschedule. Unorganized with time management. Of course chose not to reschedule.

James saved the day! Our main AC was out and we purchased a few portable units which eventually caused my outlets to stop working. Our house was too hot to have our infant son home. James came out and quickly found the issue, explained where I should place the units and what to do if it goes out again. Hereven tested multiple outlets to ensure they worked. Highly recommend. read more

James is the best, and my husband and I do not know what we'd do without him. He has done so much work at our business and is always so responsive and helpful. We will forever recommend him as the best electrician in the area. read more

First company to respond to my request for help through yelp! He said he would be there within an hour and he actually was! I'm beyond impressed by the level of service and transparency that I received, now they are saved in my phone "Electrician" and I know just who to call next time I have an issue. read more

Highly impressed. I contacted Stephens Electrical Systems at about 5pm after another electrician stood me up. James returned my call and arrived at my house literally 5 minutes later. He put a new outlet in our garage/karate studio so we could install a window air conditioner. James also fixed some of the old wiring which was sub par since our house was built in 1914 (there are still remnants of knob and tube wiring!). I feel confident we can safely run our air conditioner without worrying about an electrical fire! Not only was I blown away by his quick arrival, but James was obviously knowledgeable, experienced, honest, and fairly priced. He got the job done quickly and I will definitely use Stephens Electrical Systems for EVERY future job. read more

What can we say. James is just amazing. He was able to accomplish nearly all the projects we threw at him in one day and we have an appointment for him to do more work on our new home. James made sure that everything was done to our satisfaction and asked for our input with all the details. Thanks James. read more

Stephen Electrical was great! Super fast response. James was able to make accommodations and come early in the morning to get the job done. Very professional, clean and thorough. read more

Wow! James was so quick, efficient and knowledgeable! When it comes to electrical needs, I've definitely found the company for all of those. Thanks so much for installing my beautiful chandelier, AND, even changing out the dimmer switch. I love it, and now I feel safe to stand under it because I know it's properly secured. Your attention to detail is appreciated! THANK YOU FOR A JOB WELL DONE! read more

James was awesome! Responded quickly, professionally and was very thorough! He was easy to communicate with, flexible and did a great job! We highly recommend him and trust him to do a great job for anyone needing electrical work done! read more

This vendor is the most unprofessional one I have had ever come across. He sounded very rude since early interaction but I gave him benefit of doubt. For this job, he went to the site and left me a note that he is cancelling the job because attic space is not big enough. Common it's a new construction and there is enough room. I found about him leaving job site only after I reached and checked my email. He could have called my cell phone. This guy wasted a lot of my time and money, clearly has no respect for your time and money. Don't get trapped into his quote. Don't bother looking at it. read more

Installed a new main box. James does excellent work. Great customer service. Would definitely recommend.

I called Stephen's after being told by another company that a tech would call within 2 days. We had no power! He came promptly, figured it out fast and fixed it. Very personable and reasonable. Call him, no need to look any further! read more

If I could give a 10 star rating to James Stephens and Stephens Electrical Systems, I would! Truly a pleasure to work with, and restored my faith that responsible, dependable, conscientious, knowledgeable, reasonably priced contractors exist. James communicated with me consistently about pricing prior to coming out to do the work. He then showed up on time (in fact, texted me while on the way to let me know there was an accident that could delay him). Upon arrival, he was incredibly polite, and was genuinely and sincerely appreciative for the opportunity to handle my electrical needs. He did an excellent job of communicating with me throughout the project, asking me questions to clarify what I wanted done, explaining what work was being done as they did it, telling me which electrical fixtures were working and which weren't, and carefully explaining the costs and options for repairs and replacement. He was very conscientious about leaving a clean site as well. I truly am thrilled with James Stephens and his work, and highly recommend Stephens Electrical Systems! read more

I highly suggest them. I often feel vulnerable as a single woman with repair men. I feel some not so honest repair men can rip a woman off because of our lack of knowledge ( by choice) of their trade. I called six electricians. Only three called back. I had no kitchen lights and no microwave. No bedroom lights and random outlets did not work. James from Stephan's came out on a Sunday to help me. The one electrician that I did connect with could not come out until that Wed. He spent over an hour fixing outlets, assessing the problem and finding a wire that had burned up and could have put this home in flames. He was patient. He was kind and he was respectful. I highly recommend them Thank you read more

Had James install 6 timed motion sensors in place of light switches, replace 3 ceiling fans and 4 recessed lights in lieu of flush mounted LED lights with dimmers. He did a great job, the price was upfront, reasonable, but most importantly, he did the work well, as promised and on time. I would not hesitate to hire him in the future. read more

I highly recommend Stephens Electrical Systems for any of your electrical needs that you may have. I had contacted them about replacing a remote ceiling fan on a 12 foot ceiling. James took the time to explain what he was doing, even went to far as to fix a wall switch which never worked so I could use the wall switch or remote. James was on time, very professional but yet, personable. Stephens will always be my "go to" for any future electrical projects that I may have. read more

My refrigerator, microwave and computer all lost power at the same time. Tried resetting breakers as well as the GFI and nothing solved the problem. Contact Stephens Electrical and James came out and quickly solved the problem. Turned out that during the kitchen remodel, that was done by a general contractor, the microwave was moved off of it's circuit to a circuit shared with the refrigerator. Wups!! James only charged by about 1/3 of what they normally charge for a minimum house call fee. After he explained in more detail about the problem having the microwave on the same circuit as the frig I have elected to have him re-wire the micro back to its own circuit. Glad for the quick fix as well as the education he provided. Will use Stephens again I'm sure. read more

James did a great job installing additional outlets and a switch in our garage. Was really helpful coming up with the overall layout and installing an additional light that I had as well. Work was done quickly and for quite a reasonable price. I'll definitely be calling him again for my future electrical needs. read more

Fast response on quote and replaced GFCI same day at a very reasonable price. Our previous electrician retired and we now have James Stephens for our future projects. We highly recommend him. read more

Thanks to yelpers who gave Stephens Electrical Systems great reviews, I've found an electrician I can trust! The first thing that impressed me was that James picked up the phone when I called and showed up the next day when he said he would. That just doesn't happen much anymore. James took care of multiple electrical issues I was having and even expertly filled in the holes made from moving some outlets. All this for less than a quote I'd received from another electrician to take care of just one of the issues. All that and James is a really nice guy. I'm really happy!! read more

This is the first time I used Stephens Electrical Systems. I was very pleased with work performed and the excellent communication James provides to the customer. I highly recommend this company for your electrical needs. I will definitely use them again. read more

I am so happy I called them. He came the first day I contacted him to remove some hot tub wiring that were exposed on the home I was selling. I also had him come to my new house and instal ceiling fans in all the rooms. They look great and make each room so much cooler . He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect . I will recommend him to all my friends and family . Thank you again!!!!! read more

James is an outstanding electrician and equally great at customer service. He arrived at the time we agreed on (early, even) and helped me understand my situation in clear terms. He charged a fair price, was friendly, and knowledgeable. The next time I need an electrician, I will definitely be calling him. He had room in his schedule for same day service this time, but even if I'd had to wait, it would have been worth it. read more

Amazing service! Not only did James come to our house quickly, he was professional and knowledgeable. At first he wasn't exactly sure why our jacuzzi was not working properly but he refused to stop until he figured it out. Not only is our hot tub fixed, he was super reasonable with his pricing. We highly recommend! read more

Awesome job and service. James worked with me on other solutions after finding out we could not fully upgrade my panel without breaking the concrete in my side yard. He was still able to run dedicated circuits to my garage and was able to ground the electricity. The work was clean and what I wanted. James is very professional and communicative throughout the process. I'd recommend his work and I will use him in the future. read more

Let me say that there isn't enough space to write about how impressed I was with James, and the work he did. I needed a 240/60amp line installed for a new spa and James did an extremely clean, safe, and well throughout install on this job. You know right out of the gate that he knows his stuff, and that he cares about his craft. He made a special trip back to help me post spa arrival, and was on time on both trips and very honest about all expectations and pricing. I would and will recommend James for any electrical work going forward, and I hope he's still doing this for a long time, so I can use him again when I need something. Thanks James for a job WELL DONE!! read more
