Stephens Cleaner - NEW and NOT improved I have been going to Stephen's Cleaners for over 10 years. I've known that they cost a bit more but the service and quality used to be great. Even nicer, I would get a 50% off coupon for my birthday every year. Today I picked up my cleaning and the new manager refused to honor to coupon. Said it was not for her store, even though that is the only Stephens I have ever used and they have honored it for the past 10 years. There is nothing on the coupon that states a location or limitation. 50% off all dry cleaning and it is from them. They refused to honor it and when I got mad, I was told "F*** you." After refusing to honor a solicitation that THEY sent ME, I was then told off to boot. Never going here again and would recommend others avoid as well! read more

I AM LIVID!!! I need some Mongolian fur pillow cases cleaned. I SPECIFICALLY asked is this something they can do without damaging my expensive pillowcases. They stated, "Absolutely!" I just picked up my cases...they literally look like matted, wet dog fur! I had no choice but to lose my temper after receiving a NONCHALANT response from the clerk. I took a pair of pants to be dry cleaned. I got them back and the were stiff, itchy, and had shrunk over a full size (I know this because I own the same pair in a size smaller and the pants I took to get cleaned now fit much tighter than the smaller pair). I am so upset that I didn't read the reviews before using this dry cleaner. They claim they can fix the pants, but they would not explain to me how they would try to unshrink them. They just kept repeating that I should drop them back off. I don't trust them to fix their mistake. read more

I received my 50% off birthday coupon, like I do every year, and brought my king comforter in for cleaning. I was told they don't accept the coupon?!? Then I was told it was only for the Coit road location, not the McDermott loca. Nowhere on the coupon does it state location accepted. I also told the clerk that I have always used this coupon every year for years, at this location. She refused to accept and told me to come back later and talk to someone else. I don't have time for all that so I took my comforter to Terrell's Dry Cleaners in Allen, where I always receive great service. Stephen's Cleaners lost a customer and in today's economy one would think businesses could not afford to treat their customers this way. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I brought in a beautiful pair of Banana Republic pants to be dry cleaned. I picked up my pants to discover that they were ripped and a hook and eye had been broken off. When I called to speak to the manager he was not available. After 3 messages I went up to the store to talk to anyone that would listen about my issue. I was tested very rudely and was accused of bringing broken pants in to clean. I was taken back by such rudeness and asked for the owner. The man said the owner was not there and that he would give him my message. Fast forward several days with no word from the owner. My dry cleaning bill was 25 dollars, all I want is my money back. I'm not even asking for a repair for the pants as I wouldn't trust this facility to do anything right. Today I came by to try and resolve my issue and was met with the same rudeness and accusatory attitude. I am willing to bet the man I have been speaking to the owner. When you dress in expensive clothes and drive a Lexus I'm pretty sure you're not the cashier. Please DO NOT do business with this faculty. The service and quality of work is subpar to say the least. read more

This dry cleaners is a trip. They have a seamstress upstairs who won't sew anything for me or put on any Buttons lol. It's a comedy of errors. had some of my dry cleaning and it was a year later lol. They turned my beautiful bright white coat into a dingy yellow. No I don't go there anymore. I think they may be robots lol read more

Literally just picked up two comforters I dropped off to get cleaned. I was willing to overlook the fact that they took a week longer to clean as previously quoted, but the red-head curly-hair girl with glasses who THREW the comforters into my trunk (with the hanger snagging on the inside door frame) is a good enough reason to not return. I don't know if she was having a bad day, but seriously she didn't have to take it out on my comforters or my car for that matter. It's just unfortunate that rude customer service can't be overlooked, especially when the store does a fairly decent cleaning job. read more

They have coupons for "mid-week" 25% off - right? Read the fine print - it excludes laundry, such as your shirts. Shirts are $2.05 each, a price they don't list on their website, not do they have a printed price list (I asked). I guess they expect you have to go one by one through your clothes asking the price to clean each item. I tried them once and won't be going back. The $90 of laundered shirts don't seem any cleaner or better than the $1.60 shirt place I normally go to. On the plus side, their automation and tracking system seems top natch. The receipts listed each shirt by designer and type. read more

My daughter needed her graduation dress cleaned and took it to Stephen's cleaners. When I went to pick it up, they told me it had been damaged during the cleaning so it wasn't ready for her graduation pictures. We had to buy another dress. When they finally fixed it, over 2 weeks later, they charged me full price and told me it was my fault for not telling them the dress was new and the fault of the manufacturer for making the dress black and white (during the cleaning the black bled onto the white). So know if you use them and there's a problem, they don't care and it's your fault. read more

I hold this company in the highest regard. I've used several different cleaners in my life and have been a weekly customer with Stephen's for the past several years. At other places, I've been frustrated by clothes not being ready when promised and shirts with buttons that broke after only a few trips. I don't have these problems with Stephen's. My shirts seem to have a longer life than with other cleaners and I'm always impressed that the employees know most customers by name. I recently had the opportunity to get a "behind the scenes" look at the operation and am now more impressed than ever. They go out of their way to protect you from yourself (eg, the ballpoint pen you left in your shirt) and through careful inspection probably know your clothes better than you do. Truly a top-notch business that I highly recommend. read more

I'm disgusted with this place, they've now lost two +$100 shirts and claim "they're not responsible for lost articles". Well if they aren't responsible then who is?? I paid for a service, the service was not rendered and then one of the employees tells me "sorry". That doesn't replace my shirt! read more

One word . . . HORRIBLE. Your clothes should not have a line in the sleeve or in the collar where you folded them down. This cleaners spend more money on packaging than on actual cleaning. My clothes looked better BEFORE I took them there. When I picked them up, there was so much paper in the arms of shirts, pins on wire hangers for my slacks, and an extra polo shirt that did not belong to me. Whatever chemical they used to make the garments try to look clean was unsuccessful. The chemicals broke me out in a rash. I had to take my clothes to the Comet cleaners on Preston & Forest I used to frequent before I retired, which was near my place of employment. It's worth the drive because Now my clothes are cleaned, no lines in my cuffs or collars of my shirts, or pants pinned on hangers, putting pin holes in them. I would have not given any Stars, but that was not a choice, unfortunately. read more

Horrible job at cleaning clothes...starch stains, iron residue, and lost shirts! Had them redo four shirts and only two returned properly cleaned. Lost shirt still no where to be found. The true test comes when there is a problem, as well as how often problems occur. The lady told me sorry,"this has never happened before" Anyhow, said I needed to contact the owner to resolve problem. After numerous attempts leaving my contact information for the owner to return my calls, I'm still waiting. So much for customer service. read more

I've been taking my clothes here for around three years and have never had a problem. Alma, the sweet lady at the front, has always been as nice as pie and is always really helpful. I can't complain much about the prices, it isn't the cheapest place to go but I think you get what you pay for. read more
