Brian was able to complete all the work, fix the outlet, and start investigating the lights. The thing I really liked about Brian was that he explained to me everything he did and why. He told me instead of calling him out for another half day to investigate the lights, I should try a few things first and went through some hypotheses (based on the investigations he already did). With the information he gave me I was able to debug and fix the issue myself saving me money. I'd highly recommend BMH for anyone looking for electrical work.

Thanks to his clear guidance, I was able to fix it myself -- and he didn't even charge me for his time! What really impressed me is his ability to diagnose unusual electrical problems and come up with practical solutions quickly. On top of that, when I needed help finding a reliable solar technician, he provided me with an excellent referral after I had been searching without luck. It's rare to find someone so knowledgeable, generous with their expertise, and genuinely focused on helping customers. If you need an electrician who goes above and beyond, this is the person to call.

My handyman had been able to install the new switch, but could not fit it into the metal receptacle box in the wall, so I had hired Ray to install a larger box. By moving the wires a bit, he was able to fit the bigger new fan switch in! Ray also found that the outdoor outlet I had been asking about installing an indoor switch to, had wires right there in the box!! So he was able to add that new switch along with my outdoor light switch, by adding a double rocker switch, right next to the new fan switch - and had the parts he needed, plus a new matching cover, right in his truck! I was so excited and happy, because it could have been a much more complicated job, requiring someone to come and patch and paint the wall - plus installing the 2nd switch might also have been an expensive challenge. I was so very pleased! And then his charge seemed incredibly reasonable, that I just wrote the check for $20 extra. Such a nice man, and worked so neatly and quickly. I almost wish I had more electrical work to do soon! Thanks Ray!

They stepped in to fix a highly problematic panel installation originally done by Tesla, and they handled the entire situation flawlessly. I had a devastating experience with Formosa Electric and lost thousands of dollars due to their…read morefailure to disclose a critical project scope change before taking my money. We hired Formosa for an underground service upgrade from 100A to 200A. Before I made my payment, PG&E had already explicitly notified Formosa via email and provided an official design sketch detailing that a new utility pole would need to be installed in my backyard. Unbelievably, Formosa NEVER communicated this major change or showed me the PG&E design plan. I only found out when PG&E's construction trucks literally pulled up to my house ready to plant a utility pole in my backyard! I had no choice but to immediately cancel the entire project, resulting in thousands of dollars in non-refundable losses. Had Formosa simply passed on PG&E's notification when they received it, I would have stopped the project right then and avoided this massive financial loss. When I confronted them, Formosa claimed PG&E never informed them. However, I spoke directly with the PG&E Project Manager, who confirmed on the phone that Formosa was explicitly notified prior to my payment. When I asked Formosa to share their email correspondence with PG&E to prove their claim, they repeatedly refused. Their refusal to provide transparency speaks volumes. Furthermore, I only learned after switching to a new contractor that legitimate PG&E projects should be linked directly to the homeowner's PG&E account. Formosa never added this project to my PG&E account, intentionally or negligently keeping me completely in the dark regarding the project's true details and progress. Formosa has refused to offer any fair refund or accountability for their negligence. They hid a deal-breaking scope change, took my money, wasted thousands of my hard-earned dollars, and refused to stand by their work. Protect your home, your backyard, and your wallet--DO NOT hire Formosa Electric.
