I had had to update the wall-mounted radio switch for a 35-year-old Emerson fan, as the old one had quit working. My handyman had been able to install the new switch, but could not fit it into the metal receptacle box in the wall, so I had hired Ray to install a larger box. By moving the wires a bit, he was able to fit the bigger new fan switch in! Ray also found that the outdoor outlet I had been asking about installing an indoor switch to, had wires right there in the box!! So he was able to add that new switch along with my outdoor light switch, by adding a double rocker switch, right next to the new fan switch - and had the parts he needed, plus a new matching cover, right in his truck! I was so excited and happy, because it could have been a much more complicated job, requiring someone to come and patch and paint the wall - plus installing the 2nd switch might also have been an expensive challenge. I was so very pleased! And then his charge seemed incredibly reasonable, that I just wrote the check for $20 extra. Such a nice man, and worked so neatly and quickly. We had Ray (Reza) come out to the house to resolve our LED lights that were humming in circuits controlled by dimers. (I had valiantly tried to resolve this myself with different dimmers, different bulbs to no avail). He immediately saw the issue and upgraded our lighting to 100% LEDs with no hum. Our office, living room, kitchen island , garage workbench, and TV room are now much brighter and hum-free. Ray is a delight to work with, caused no mess and no damage. After sending him a couple of pictures of our electrical box and bathroom light that needed fixing and talking to him on the phone, Ray was able to give me a quote for his work. He quickly replaced a circuit breaker in our electrical box for a fair price. We also had a bathroom light that would not work. When I called Foley Electric, they had no interest in trying to repair this light or diagnose why it wasn't working. They said they would charge me $225/hr to take a look at it. Ray was a rock star today. We had lost power in our garage and keeping internet running by using an electrical cord from the kitchen. Not a great situation. I had a problem with an old thermostat linked to an electric baseboard heater. Ray was the first electrician (out of many that I called) who tried to trouble shoot what was wrong by phone before deciding if an appointment was needed. Others just jumped to telling me how much they would charge even just to come out and see what was wrong. When Ray showed up, he was very thorough in finding out what was wrong and then was also very accommodating in checking my other thermostats and baseboard heaters. Turned out there was some very strange wiring that was done previously that caused the heaters to warm up very slowly, but Ray took the time to sort through everything in a systematic way and fixed the problem. Wonderful and efficient service! I called Ray around 3pm because half of my house didn't have electricity. This is after an electrician sent by my HOA spent 2.5 hours without having a clue about what went wrong. Ray came to my house within the same day around 6pm after another job.
