Two years ago I bought a beautiful linen Saks Fifth Avenue blazer on eBay and Stephano did a superb tailoring job at a very reasonable price. I've had experiences with both great high end tailoring and alteration from dry cleaners, and Stephano is best of both worlds. He is just as affordable as an alteration from dry cleaners but also knows fit like high end tailoring does. I brought him a pair of jeans that I wanted more fitted and a suit that didnt fit well. He confidently started bringing in the suit before I could even say how fitted I wanted it during the consultation. The jeans turned out great but I was blown away by how well he transformed the suit- Stephano isn't afraid to make it very slim and modern. I'll probably bring in all my suits when I get the chance. Just be clear with what you want done, but also listen to his opinion. I've had bad tailoring done before so I was excited to find that Stephano is here right in my neighborhood! read more

I've been going to Stephano for well over 5 years now. I started going to him based on a recommendation from a close friend who had been going to him for years before that. Stephano would custom tailor all of my friend's t-shirts to fit his body perfectly, which kind of blew my mind. So one day I gave him a shot, with a few pairs of pants which were in various states of disrepair. And of course he crushed it, and I have been going ever since. In fact I won't take my clothing to anyone else. Stephano is one of the chillest, most down to earth dudes, and he does gorgeous work. I love his creativity & style. I had several suits that needed alteration as I lost 25lbs. He was very quick (and direct) during the measuring process, had a very reasonable price and had them back in 3 days! Quality tailoring at a fair price here at Stephano's. I came to Stephano about four times and most of my encounters with him were good. However, after the last visit I won't return. When I took in my jeans for a taper, I requested him to mimic the leg taper of different pair of my pants I brought. When I came back to get my pants, I noticed the fit was much baggier than I requested. He was extremely rude when I asked if he could re-taper my pants. I even offered to pay and said no rush. He does a decent job...not the most friendly person, but i have brought multiple pants to have altered. The last time this time around i had 3 pairs of pants. I paid him when i dropped them off. A week later i went to pick them up. when I tried them on one of the them needed to be altered a bit more. When I was about to leave he told me that I needed to pay him. I explained that i paid for them already. He told me that if it were paid he would have stamped paid on his ticket... he clearly forgot to stamp it, but i paid the $55 again and told him that i wouldn't be back. Sad that he even knew my name after not being there for a while and now is double charging me. I gave him the money because it wasn't worth getting even more upset and assured him that after this he will not be seeing me. I went back to pick up the last pair of pants and after I made sure they fit okay I came out of the dressing area and he handed me the $55 and said, "It's yours." He didn't apologize and wasn't really nice about it. I'm guessing that he had cameras or something because I didn't say a word and was ready to walk out. I don't spend hundreds if dollars at a local business to be treated like i am trying to rip them off. There are other tailors out there... i will be finding another one. If you go there DON'T GIVE HIM ANY MONEY UNTIL YOU GET THE CLOTHES. I gave him 3 stars just because he did admit his mistake by giving my money back, but part of what keeps me going back to places is friendly service and I like supporting local businesses. read more

I did not enjoy my experience coming here. The quality of his work is pretty good, however he was not a very friendly man. I asked for some alterations to some t shirts and he started altering the shirts and then told me it was going to be 12 dollars a shirt and wouldn't come down on the price. When I picked the shirts up a couple days later I wasn't happy with how he did the sleeves so I asked if he could do something about that and he said that wasn't part of the deal and wanted to charge me extra and was quite rude about it. The second two, it was like he just took the pins out & didnt do anything, which was extremely frustrating. His hours are really inconvenient for people who work. He is not very friendly. This review is NOT about the quality of his work. I never got that far. I needed 6 pants altered. I looked on yelp and after reading reviews I decided to give this place a shot. I called and asked for a price quote. He said $12-$15 per pant depending on what I needed. I've never been to this location and am not familiar with the area. When I arrived I could not locate his shop. I called him on the phone and asked if he could please provide me with directions. He answered in the rudest tone and kept telling me he, "couldn't help me" and that he "didn't know where I was", that he was "next to a jewelry shop". I told him I was parked in the parking lot near the 99 cent store and asked if he was near that. He kept repeating "I don't know where you are, I don't know where you are, you can't see!" in the rudest tone and he kept insisting that I look for the jewelry shop, that that was the only thing he knew he was next to. When I finally realize where he was it was mind blowing that he would not provide me with directions!! The 99 cent store is right next to him!!! (What confused me is that there is also a cleaners and I wasn't sure if he was inside that or independent. I was trying to give him my business and I kept trying to explain that to him) I had asked him, "Can I just park here and get off and look for you? I'm near the 99 cent store, am I in the right place?" and he kept repeating, "I don't know where you are, I don't know where you are, look for a sign" in a loud, rude, almost irritated sounding tone. I finally said, "Sir its a yes or no answer" I decided to drive away and take my business elsewhere. I don't understand what's wrong or why people refuse to give good customer service!! How do they expect to stay in business when they're so rude??? I was trying to justify that maybe he was having a bad day, or maybe he's new to the country and unfamiliar with basic customer service standards, but there really is just no excuse for a business person to not attempt to provide good customer service and be mindful of their volume and tone.I'm obviously a new customer how does he expect repeat business or referrals??? I was hesitant to even write a review trying to justify his behavior and tone. I write it in a way that I hope he reads it and improves, that way he gains more business. P.S. If u go there and see how near he is to the 99 cent store you will be blown away by the fact that he could not provide simple directions. He lost a customer for refusing to answer a simple question. I only needed the pants hemmed and the sleeve lengths shortened a bit on the jacket and he did a great job.
