The only thing more amazing than the attention to detail and creativity is the cake itself! Cakes To You has made so many cakes, cookie trays, and desserts for our family functions over the years and they always receive rave reviews, so it was a no brainer to go to them for our wedding cake too. The selection of unique flavors, from champagne to butter pecan, made choosing our cake so hard. Luckily, we were able to make each layer a different flavor! We especially loved the champagne and vanilla almond. The final product was a work of art and absolutely blew us and our guests away.

I literally just asked for a recreation of the exact cake that I had for my 18th birthday. Mind you I also had pictures and they also remembered making my cake for me. I had very clear instructions on what I wanted. I was hosting my 23rd birthday at my new home with my family and was hoping to have a really nice quality cake for this event. My mother came to drop off the cake at the house. I couldn't even believe what I was seeing. I don't even have a picture of it because I just don't even wanna look at the cake again. The way they designed the cake it almost seemed like it was a cake for a two-year-old. It was just a plain white cake with light purple dollops on the edges it with sparkles and a butterfly on it. I didn't even ask for a butterfly what was there a butterfly on my cake? It just was so childish looking and not at all what I asked for. I was embarrassed to have this cake at my event. We will not be purchasing with them again after this...

Megan responded immediately to my inquiry and although they were booked with two events for the date I needed, Megan squeezed our order in AND they squeezed in a delivery time that worked for us while also ensuring their other events were in no way changed or compromised. I really respected this because that meant they respect every order, and they do not inconvenience other orders just to accommodate a new order. From delivery (as promised), to how the cupcakes looked (neat, detailed, beautiful!), to how they tasted (guests said they were fresh, not too sweet, and some were shocked how such a small cupcake had so much flavor). That brings me to the size... absolutely perfect! They were all eaten by the end of the event, and I believe it's because the size made them less embarrassing to go back for seconds or thirds! Quality ingredients and you can tell by the taste! Attention to detail, which is harder to accomplish on mini cupcakes. We highly recommend!!

I'm so sad to see so many people had such a disappointing experience at Cakes by Nadine! I knew as…read moresoon as I tasted one of her cakes at my cousins birthday party that Nadine would absolutely need to make my future wedding cake!! Fast forward a few years and sure enough, Nadine constructed the most beautiful and mouth watering cake for my wedding! I scheduled to meet with Nadine one Saturday (she gives free samples on Saturdays!) without the slightest idea what I wanted my wedding cake to look like. She was so patient with me and she worked through it, really paying attention to every word I said and got so creative. She drew up a sketch of what she gathered that I wanted. When I saw my cake on our wedding day I was speechless. It was more beautiful and perfect than I could have EVER imagined!!! Nadine is extremely talented, and it's very obvious she loves what she does. She is expensive, yes, but she only makes a few wedding cakes every weekend so they are high quality. I couldn't imagine having a better experience or having a more beautiful wedding cake. Thank you, Nadine!!!

We went to go eat our top layer last week because we are moving and could not keep it frozen any longer. When we went to eat the cake we realized the filling was not what we asked for. Scraped it off the cake to confirm and taste it by itself. I called and told them about the issue today and told them how highly disappointed we were. They told us that In their records we received the correct filling but there is absolutely no flavor to it once so ever and they didn't offer any kind of small refund or to make us some kind of small replacement or anything didnt seen to even care that I was clearly upset over the matter. Extremely sad we won't get to enjoy our top layer of our cake because it is extremely plain.. but glad I didn't wait a year to find this out on our special 1 year wedding anniversary or I would have been about 1000 times more upset... I got this cake because my mom had her wedding cake from here and I loved it so I am sad to say the quality has significantly decreased in the last couple years..

Planning a…read morewedding from afar (in an unfamiliar city no less) seemed daunting initially, but thanks to finds like "A Piece of Cake" I'm quite confident we'll pull it off successfully. We just completed a tasting with Miya over Christmas break (well in advance of our September 2011 wedding, but this was our only opportunity for the tasting). First of all, Miya is incredibly communicative. Most of the time, she responds to emails within minutes! Her website is one of the best designed and most informative I've seen, and that coupled with her communication savvy puts my mind completely at ease--we are dealing with a consummate professional. Of course, she was *so* professional that we were surprised to learn that "Piece of Cake" is a one woman operation!! Miya is a full-time social worker who runs this fabulous enterprise on the side and makes all the cupcakes herself in her own kitchen!! For the tasting, she invited us into her home and we sat at her dining room table with glasses of milk she poured for us and breakfasted on fresh cupcakes. $10 got us a tasting of 5 cupcakes for two (we each split one cupcake per flavor), and that $10 will be subtracted from our final order. We sampled the: 1) Classic Vanilla (with vanilla buttercream frosting), 2) Greater Pumpkin (pumpkin cake with vanilla cream cheese frosting and dulce de leche filling), 3) Life Gives You Lemons (lemon cake with lemon curd filling and lemon cream cheese frosting), 4) Rise n' Shine (french toast cake with maple cream cheese frosting and crumbled bacon), and 5) classic Red Velvet (with cream cheese frosting). They were all fantastic, but my personal favorites were the Rise n' Shine and the Greater Pumpkin. The pumpkin actually tasted like pumpkin and the rise n' shine like french toast--which is so rare for spice cakes! The prices are very reasonable for what you get (tinting the frosting and set-up and delivery are included). You can rent a tiered display rack for a modest fee and order custom cupcake liners at cost. Payments are handled through PayPal. I can't begin to express how excited we are for our wedding cupcakes, but we'll be sure to update this review come next fall!
