I think maybe the difference is that they don't seem like they're really desperate. They've been around for a long time. There's a reason that. I've had solid experience with him every single time. They're basically being a member of our community and they've been here for hundred years I think, or to that. I highly recommend. They have you and used cars and they have a great service here. Thank you, Normandin. They made it so easy to sell my minivan. It was maybe there 20 minutes. Thank you.

Another bad sales review. They basically sold me a new truck…read morethat was joy-ridden by the employee of this dealership and they even damaged and did horrible job fixing it. It's very annoying that even on new cars I have to inspect everything to make sure I am buying an actual new car. I bought it at night so I wasn't able to see the damage until the next day at home, but the front driver's panel was slightly popped out of the socket. After I took off part of the panel, I noticed the front fender was damaged which caused the panel to pop out. I had to bend back the front fender as much as I can so the panel won't pop out any more but the panel and fender does not sit flush still. Also they stripped out 3 bolts on the fender to fender liner so I need to buy them separately and have to replace them all.

The person that did my alignment was super nice, I ended up talking with him for about a 1/2 hour about Hot Rods. The parking around the shop area is very limited and it's hard to drive through the parking lot. The alignment took about 45 minutes, he told me where he set my specs but unfortunately he did not give me a computer readout so I have no way to know for sure if the specs are in fact where he set them. Overall the car seems to track straight and my steering wheel which was off center is now straight. I just wish I had a readout because I gave him the specs I wanted him to set the alignment too "not factory specs" so If my tires show abnormal, or I can have them make the small corrections. Cost of the lime it was $150

I explained the situation to Marcos Rodriguez, and he took the time to look up my vehicle's VIN and verify the service history. He confirmed that the car did not actually need any service at this time. I really appreciated how honest, quick, and helpful Marcos was. He could have easily recommended unnecessary service, but instead, he was straightforward and made sure I had the correct information. Definitely a five-star experience! I highly recommend this Lexus service location in Santa Clara. If you need a service consultant, ask for Marcos Rodriguez. Honest and excellent customer service!

I always dreaded going to a dealer either for having to wait long hours, lack of status communication, or overall customer service. Not here. I usually wait for my car in their amazing waiting area where there's a glass and you can see cars being worked on. My car is usually done within 1.5hrs. I've had a few service advisors, but I have been coming beck to Gerardo Portillo the last few years. He is straight forward, to the point, amazing customer service, and top notch communication. AN EXPERIENCE WORTH THE DRIVE FROM BRENTWOOD!…read more My husband and I were honestly hesitant about driving all the way from Brentwood to San Jose to look at a truck we had seen online. I remember thinking, "Here we go... the minute we pull up, all the sales 'vultures' are going to come out!" Well, I couldn't have been more WRONG! We had an appointment with Sam, and from the moment we arrived, the entire experience was completely different from what I expected. No swarm of salespeople. No uncomfortable pressure. No aggressive sales tactics. Instead, Sam greeted us, already knew what we were looking for, and had the truck ready for us to test drive. During the drive, I sat quietly in the back with my daughter while my husband drove and Sam sat up front. I was taking EVERYTHING in. The truck was nice, but by the time we returned to the dealership, I knew it wasn't the one. My husband looked too small driving it, the bed was too small, and although I loved the color, it just wasn't the truck I had envisioned. So, of course, I added my two cents! Sam listened to everything I said ...and apparently, he was REALLY listening. A short time later, he pulled around in another truck. NOW WE'RE TALKING!!! This truck had some BALLS! It had the size, presence, look, and feel I wanted. The minute I saw my husband driving it, I thought, THAT'S IT. That's our truck. What impressed me most about Sam was that he was authentic, knowledgeable, relatable, and never once made us feel pressured. And ladies, you know how sometimes when you're shopping for a vehicle with your husband, the salesperson automatically directs everything toward him? Not Sam! He was smart enough to realize very quickly that he needed to listen to BOTH of us. He paid attention to what mattered to me, and ultimately showed us exactly what I had envisioned. We left the dealership to take some time, look at other options, and make sure we were making the right decision but in my heart, I already knew. That was our truck. Then came Bart, who worked with my husband, Ricky, over the phone. Bart was incredibly patient and genuinely did everything he could to work the numbers and make the deal worthwhile for us to come back. Thank you, Bart! When we returned to the dealership, the experience somehow got even better. Between Sam, Bart, and our AMAZING closer, Richard in Finance, everything was packaged and ready to go. Richard was thorough, friendly, professional, and made sure we understood everything and were completely taken care of. He made what can sometimes be the most exhausting part of buying a vehicle feel smooth and easy. I can genuinely say that I have never had a car-buying experience like this one. The customer service was beyond exceptional, and I couldn't stop praising these gentlemen for the effort they put into making us feel valued not just like another sale. Sam, Bart, and Richard you guys absolutely NAILED IT! To our family, friends, and anyone reading this review: if you're looking for a vehicle, GO CHECK THEM OUT! It was absolutely worth our drive from Brentwood to San Jose, and I will gladly recommend this team to anyone looking for a great buying experience. Thank you again, Chevrolet of San Jose, for taking such great care of us. And most importantly... I'M IN LOVE WITH OUR NEW TRUCK!!!

a terrible 5 year experience with mike…read more i knew mikes father who owned john's bascom automotive since i was a child. he was friends with my mother and father. our family recommended john's b.a. to our friends, family, neighbors and employees. i have always taken my nissan hardbody truck to him for all of its needs. he did an excellent job every time. that all ended as soon as his son mike took over. i took my truck to mike 5 years ago. five years he made up excuses as to why our truck was not finished. waiting for parts, can't find parts , covid stress, vacation, problems at home. the list never ended with mike. what mike never mentioned to use over those five years was that our truck (according to mike) was broken into by a homeless person. how did we find out about the break in ? the interior was covered with glass when my husband picked it up from mike. mike never called us to tell us it was broken into. mike never reported the break in to the police. mike charged us for a dashboard that was not damaged when we dropped it off 5 years earlier. it was fine when we left the truck with mike. here is the insult to injury... we dropped off our truck for new hoses and gaskets . 5 years later we have a truck that still has damages from the break in , sun roof damage, leaking sun roof, badly sun burned window trims, ugly replacement dashboard/speedometer , broken camper shell latches and carpet that smells like urine, feces and mildew. i am disgusted with mike for keeping the truck for 5 years. i am disgusted that he never reported the break in to the police and kept that information from us for a year or two. i am disgusted that he had the audacity to threaten my husband with a daily charge of $3.00 a day storage fee for having our truck on his lot waiting to be repaired when we were upset with him keeping our vehicle for 5 years. i am disgusted with all of the messages he left telling us he was fixing our truck. (i'm glad i kept all of his voicemails and texts.) mike is a liar and a terrible mechanic. mike is nothing like his father. shame on you mike ! if you leave your vehicle with john's bascom automative you are doing so at your own risk . i think i will have my truck wrapped with this yelp review and drive it like that forever.
