I came into the shop multiple times and called multiple times. All this i mentioned in my honest review of you and your business practices. Called for a quote for a Coastal Off Road DIY bumper install (requires welding & fab work I know nothing about) & they quoted me $3k for the work. Got 3 other quotes & the closest to Stellar's was $1400. Getting it done by a local 4x4/fab shop in Nevada City for less than $1k. I had the boys do a coilover swap and alignment on my '19 Tundra. I started with a phone call inquiring on what the job would cost and how long it would take. At first, the call went to voice-mail after a few rings. Next thing I know, someone must have looked at the missed calls and was calling me back. I got the info I needed and we set a date. They got the job done in pretty good time. The job was clean and thorough. Obviously, like any shop, liability doesn't allow you to stand inside and watch. But because the alignment rack is right by the doors, I was able to watch the tech at work. I had no clue what he was doing, but Dimitriy happened to walk by outside and took the time to chat and tell me what's up. I will say this. The waiting room area is pretty simple. A few chairs, a table and maybe an outlet to plug in your phone. Bring food and beverage if you plan on waiting. There's not much around. It's a very industrial area. Or have that food delivery app handy. Would I use them again? Yes. Do I recommend you use them? Of course. read more

This will be the odd review in a sea of 5-star reviews. I will start by saying I was a mechanic when I was younger, I recently rebuilt two classic vehicles and I have simply reached an age that I can pay for these things to help free up time and stress so here I am getting a simple job done. I was impressed when I first walked in, lots of great-looking rigs outside and inside the shop. Great showroom, and everyone seemed very knowledgeable. I have a new 2023 Ford F-250 that had a Carli 3.5" lift installed when I bought it. I wanted the front dropped 1" (yes, actually went to get it lowered). In addition, the adaptive cruise radar sensor was misaligned by a previous shop with a winch install and they agreed to fix that issue as well for an extra fee. They looked at my truck, the guy who helped me looked up a set of coil springs online that could replace the Carli's and give me my 1" drop and I was quoted a price for springs and labor to drop the front and repair sensors. It took them one day to get the work done and when I picked it up I was surprised to find the front 1/4" taller (not the 1" lower I wanted). The guy that ordered the springs was not there but someone else looked it over, at first they told me the springs needed to settle. I was a mechanic in my younger life and I know that there are no coil springs that will "settle" 1 & 1/4 inches! They eventually looked up details on the springs they ordered and realized the springs were not correct. The owner, Dimitry, said he was sorry and that we would need a set of factory "Tremor" model springs and that he would get them swapped out without charge. To his credit, he simply wanted me to be happy and get the look I wanted for the quoted price even if he had to eat the price of the new springs. It turns out that when they put these new springs in they also aligned the truck (which was new and already aligned) but it was appreciated. They informed me that I was not charged for the alignment since the tech did it without asking first. In my mind I figured that if the truck entered the shop well aligned it should leave that way and I would not think it would be an extra cost for quoted suspension work but whatever. As soon as I left the shop the alarms on truck went off stating the cruise radar and parking sensors were blocked, it braked suddenly when nothing was in front of me and at one point it accelerated towards a car in front of me on cruise because it thought there was no car there. I was not happy as that was a $300 repair they said was all good. I immediately returned to shop and found the sonar unit angled to the right and appeared to be misaligned. They re-adjusted it seemed to work afterward. (It has since had several issues that I fixed myself by trial and error readjustments at my home). So, I finally found a set of factory springs I needed, I bought them online, drove to 45 mins each way to pick them up and returned the truck to the shop. This also entailed two more Uber rides to and from shop for this extra service totalling $60. They swapped the springs, credited me the $460 I paid for the wrong springs and the truck looked great! I was happy.... until after about week of driving it was clear the alignment was off. It was pulling and the steering wheel not centered. When I called and asked they said they did not re-align it with the new springs but that they "checked it with a tape measure" and it seemed okay. They knew it would require realignment after changing the springs and caster bushings but did not do it and just hoped I wouldn't notice? The steering linkage at minimum needed adjustment. They said it would be another $150 charge and I would have to bring truck back to the shop. This would also mean two more Uber rides to and from for another $60 not to mention all my time in and out of the shop just trying to get what I paid for in the first place. I will not be taking my truck back to their shop for a re-alignment. Despite how impressive the shop appears to be, I was quoted a price for a simple suspension job and sensor repair and neither were done correctly the first time nor the second time. I spent hours of my time, multiple trips and Ubers and the truck drives worse than it did when I brought it in - but the front lift is correct at least. :-/ read more

First I want to say I've never really done any kind of modification to my cars/trucks even though I've always wanted too. Partly I was scared because I didn't know where to start and didn't want to be that guy asking stupid questions that to most seem so simple and obvious. I trusted Stellar Built would treat me right and they sure did. They put up with my many newbie questions guided me on my research of what I wanted to do and where to start and finally decided to get a level kit installed and new AT tires installed as well as some wheels on my GX 550. I went in for an alignment to be done on my suv. I waited for an hour and the technician came back in and told the front counter guy the alignment was done. I didn't get a copy of the before and after alignment numbers. I assumed everything was aligned correctly. As soon as I got in the road onto I5, I was fighting the steering wheel and my suv was swaying left to right on my way home. I had to drop my speed down to 55mph and stay on the far right lane. When I got home, I checked my SUV front wheels and noticed the technician never adjusted the camber on the driver front side and it was still showing positive camber compared to the passenger front side. I didn't bother to call them back because I know they will not get it aligned correctly. I took it into another shop where I normally go and it took them 2hrs to get my SUV aligned correctly with numerous test drives and correction before handing it off to me. I will never go back. I only went there because of their reputation but what I went through with my suv, I'll never go back. read more

Found Stellar Built's name floating around on some forums and decided to give them a shot since they were highly recommended and located in my hometown. I planned to visit family in the area and they were able to get me scheduled for a body mount chop on my 4Runner for quite a bit less than what they charge in WA and got it done within a few hours. This is the absolute best burger joint ever. The patties are cooked to perfection and the buns, oh man......oops wrong shop. I actually had no idea that Stellar Built (SB) even existed. My barber had a lifted FJ that I really admired. He told me that the work was done by SB and at the time I was not yet ready to do my truck. Fast forward one year later and I had put together a complete suspension system for my 3rd gen 4Runner. I contacted SB and spoke with Dmitriy, the owner, and next thing you know I was at the shop getting my truck's suspension mounted. I saw several other 4x4 shops in the area but ultimately, I decided to go with SB because of their solid reputation within the NorCal off-road community. I have not looked back, they have now done more work for me including an off-road bumper installation and minor maintenance fixes. Stellar Built is awesome! I went to them for upgraded suspension on my 17 Tacoma. I cannot tell you how happy I am with their customer service. Jessie was so helpful and patient with me working through the build, he helped to dial in a great looking truck! I was very happy to find out that he was actually performing the work as well! And great work they did too! Total Chaos +2 long travel expedition series kit, 2.5" King shocks up front with sway bar and extended axels. They installed the cam tabs, spindle gussets and all their welding work is beautifully done. They performed a cab mount relocation and hammered out the pinch welds for future larger tire prep for me also. In the back they installed the Total Chaos rear suspension with shock hoop kit and bypass shocks. Beefing it up with a Dobisons rear leaf pack since I have a GFC camper and plan to install a HC bumper w/tire carrier and some jerrycans. Finishing it all off with a new set of 33" KO2 AT tires and FN x Pro wheels, they mounted and balanced in house. I was able to talk with the guys at the shop (including the owner) since they were staying a bit late to finish up my build, everyone there is solid. They worked extra hard to do all this in a very short time, I think they truly love what they do! I am 100% happy and will be returning for future work and sending anyone I find their way for sure!
