I am building out a 2024 Lexus GX 550 Overtrail. This is a new model for Lexus and my goal is to create the most capable off-road GX 550 anywhere. An essential element of this build is the 74 Weld portals. I wanted a shop that was not only certified to do the installation, but was also made up of avid off-road enthusiasts that actually use portals on their own rigs. Dimitri, the owner of Stellar Built, was exactly the man I needed. I drove up from Phoenix and had a very tight time schedule. Dimitri did the vast majority himself, even working on my rig when the shop was closed. His work ethic, craftsmanship and attention to detail was beyond reproach. If you are looking for a first class off-road shop that does absolutely superb work, you can't go wrong at Stellar Built Off-Road.

I have a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek. On this vehicle I had Stellar do several modifications, including suspension, lift, wheels, tires, and a later a winch. I worked with Jessie, he did an amazing job with not only finding really good prices for the parts, but he also came in on the weekend to do the install because I needed it in a hurry. I am super excited about my build and I cannot wait to take my baby into the mountains this summer. Great work stellar. Keep it up.

Stellar Built is one of those shops that have built their reputation as a premier off-road and metal fabrication shop that would cater to your 4x4 needs. They have helped me with my 2020 Toyota Tacoma build and their expertise on Toyota and Lexus gives me that peace of mind and assurance that your truck will be taken care of properly. The guys are very detailed and honest and always have great recommendations for your build. I cannot wait to get my truck regeared soon!

This is my second time leaving a review for these guys. I first went to Stellar built in November of 2022 to get 5.29 gears, suspension, 35s, and some fab work done on my truck. Since then I've been back about 5-10 times to get more small stuff done. I wheel my truck a lot and I wheel it hard, so stuff is bound to break. Whenever I've had issues with my truck, I know I can call Stellar built and they'll take care of me. Special thanks to Rob who helps me troubleshoot over the phone, sources parts, discusses ideas with me, and always finds a good time to get me in there. The customer service is amazing and I'm always confident my truck and I will be well taken care of.

First I want to say I've never really done any kind of modification to my cars/trucks even though I've always wanted too. Partly I was scared because I didn't know where to start and didn't want to be that guy asking stupid questions that to most seem so simple and obvious. I trusted Stellar Built would treat me right and they sure did. They put up with my many newbie questions guided me on my research of what I wanted to do and where to start and finally decided to get a level kit installed and new AT tires installed as well as some wheels on my GX 550. They knocked it out of the park and even though it's a relatively simple mod to start with they earned a customer for life and will come back to them as I dive into this new world.

I had the boys do a coilover swap and alignment on my '19 Tundra. I started with a phone call inquiring on what the job would cost and how long it would take. At first, the call went to voice-mail after a few rings. Next thing I know, someone must have looked at the missed calls and was calling me back. I got the info I needed and we set a date. They got the job done in pretty good time. The job was clean and thorough. Obviously, like any shop, liability doesn't allow you to stand inside and watch. But because the alignment rack is right by the doors, I was able to watch the tech at work. I had no clue what he was doing, but Dimitriy happened to walk by outside and took the time to chat and tell me what's up. I will say this. The waiting room area is pretty simple. A few chairs, a table and maybe an outlet to plug in your phone. Bring food and beverage if you plan on waiting. There's not much around. It's a very industrial area. Or have that food delivery app handy. Would I use them again? Yes. Do I recommend you use them? Of course.

Although they're a bit hard to get a hold of, I found email to work best. Found Stellar Built's name floating around on some forums and decided to give them a shot since they were highly recommended and located in my hometown. I planned to visit family in the area and they were able to get me scheduled for a body mount chop on my 4Runner for quite a bit less than what they charge in WA and got it done within a few hours. Knowledgeable, but not overly friendly, this shop is no BS and gets stuff done.

Stellar Built is most known for Toyotas but I brought in my Wrangler JKU for custom built rock sliders and they nailed it. Super clean welds and craftsmanship, I could not be happier with the end result. If you've got a Jeep, don't overlook Stella Built. read more

If you're looking for a knowledgeable 4x4 shop in sac, Stellar Built is your place. Attention to the details is what you want when someone is working on your truck. I checked out 4 places that offered suspension upgrades to my 2017 Toyota Tacoma.....I noticed high Yelp reviews for STELLARBUILT, Social media posts & watched 1 YouTube video.... then I went to meet Dimitry. I did not want a lift. I did not want bigger wheels and tires. I wanted my truck to be ready to handle 1,000 pounds full time. I was preparing to purchase a Four Wheel Camper in Woodland, California . I originally wanted RideRite airbags installed or SuperSprings or SumoSprings. Dimitry advised me to install Dobinsons suspension front shocks, rear shocks, Heavy duty rear leaf springs with U bolts, greasable pins bushings..... This set up would allow me to carry the weight of my camper plus people and items.... I AM VERY PICKY AND HAVE O.C.D.....everything checked out with me and I trusted Stellarbuilt. I gave the go ahead and when every part came in, I was called to see the beginning of my build. I was given an appointment the next day. Took my Lexus GX470 here for full suspension work including UCA, LCA, trailing arms, alignment and rock sliders. Also had them install tires on my new wheels. These guys did a magnificent job. Suspension install done in one day! Guys here are friendly and they take pride in their work. I highly recommend this place and wouldn't hesitate to go back if I need to. read more

I've been looking around Northern California for a shop that was able to work on my 2001 Toyota Tacoma. Came across them on Instagram and was easy and fast to get in contact with. Couple days later meet with dimerty the owner and before the weekend my truck was ready ! If your looking for a shop to fix/upgrade your adventure car I'd highly recommend stellar build. Came in to get some struts and springs assembled and received one strut assembly that was upside down after taking a looks at it. They did reassemble the plate in the right orientation after taking it back. They said " we do these types of stuff all the time" yet they installed my struts like this. I would question their credibility and workmanship base on their work and statement. Could have killed me in the process of installing them into my vehicle as it is a ticking time bomb ready to explode. read more

I recently picked up a FJ Cruiser with a 3" lift and have been looking for a reliable 4x4 shops that can help me modify my rig for overlanding/ mild. I have a set of 33s that I have on most of the time but also a set of 35s depending on where the adventure takes me. The 35s rub slightly, even with a BMC and I was not happy with that. It was that way when I purchased the vehicle. Well, long story short, I wanted my rig to be the most versatile in terms of wheel choices and so I went with a body mount relocation. Stellar Built not only provided me with some much needed knowledge but did their best to try to accommodate my schedule. The body mount relocation was a fair price and turned out awesome. No rubbing on the 35s during full left turns. This makes me really happy as I did not have to mess with the alignment and allowed the modular setup that I wanted. For the work I do I often need to drive off-road through rugged terrain and adverse conditions. I decided to make a few upgrades to my vehicle (2021 Rav4 Hybrid) to make it better suited for this (lift, new tires/wheels, additional lighting). The team at Stellar Built has been extremely knowledgable and friendly. They are always responsive with any questions I have and the work is always completed in a timely fashion. Just want to give the biggest thank you to stellar built and his crew. If you want someone that knows what they're doing GO TO STELLAR BUILT and get in touch with dimitry!! They normally close at 6 pm but stayed late after hours just to finish my car. Wow talk about putting your customers first. I had them add 2 inches of more lift on my car, a 1" body lift, body mount chop and 35x12.5 fitted on my 5th gen 4Runner. I left falling back in love with my car all over again. read more

STELLAR BUILT IS THE PLACE TO GO!! I say this because these guys took great care of me and my 2016 4Runner. Long story short I got my lift kit installed at a different shop and it was making a noise, I took it back to that shop and said they didn't hear anything I also took it to other shops and they couldn't figure the issue out, BUT these guys did and they did it right!! I want to give Rob and the guys at the shop a big shout out and a big thank you!! If you guys want anything done to your truck these guys can make it happen! I will definitely be back for future services and future off road accessories to be installed! I give the shop a 20 out of 10, they have great customer service and will make sure you leave the shop happy and satisfied no matter what. If you live in Sacramento or anywhere in Cali make the drive and let these guys take great care of you! They will guarantee your truck is the way you want it to be first try. Used their services to install my Prinsu roof rack on my Outback. These are fairly new To Outback and only a handful of people have them on their Outbacks. They are supports if Prinsu and know their products. They did a fantastic job with very minimal evidence of anyone in my car. I am very pleased with the install and the guys themselves. Very friendly and very good T what they do. Highly recommended and looking forward to getting my bumpers cut and having new heavy duty Stellar Built fabricated bumpers installed. :) I live 2 hours away and it was totally worth the lame traffic coming back home! This is the only shop I will be taking my 3rd gen Tacoma to, the owner and staff are super cool, and do great work, I'm very weary of who I let work on my truck, and these guys put me at ease instantly, they know there stuff and have great attitudes, also super hard workers, they get after it! After considerable research, landed at Stellarworks to begin a rather comprehensive build on my recently acquired bone stock and mint 1st Gen Tacoma. Got vm on 1st call and Rob returned my message within 20 minutes. After a conversation, he invited me to come to the shop for more detailed plan, which I did, and he spent at least 2 hours going over my wish list, explaining options and costs. After several questions, more back/forth communication, and a final visit, a build is in place! Rob knows his stuff and helped me sort out my wish list in a very friendly, realistic fashion. The first thing that attracted me to this shop is that it is a 'one stop' shop... they do it all and my wish list included the works. I didn't want to piece meal shop to shop. 2nd was the good reviews. To sum it up, my experience to this point is 5 stars ++. I'll post again with before/after pics when the build is done. Parts may take 8-12 weeks to acquire + up to 3 week build time. read more

Don't be intimidated by their builds. All I needed was to have new lower control arms that I purchased on ebay installed. The guys in the shop treated the install with the same professionalism, attention to detail and safety as they would with a full suspension install or custom fab job. Worth taking the time off of work and driving out there every time. read more

I was looking to lift my Toyota Tacoma and a good friend of mine recommended Stellar Built. After speaking with Dmitry about what components I wanted to go with, I immediately knew he right guy to go to! The custom work I needed required a fair bit of fabrication, but the quality of work showed in his welds which were outstanding! What's up guys, Mike from Sac. @truck_norriz on instagram. Brought my truck into Stellar for some tube work on a bedrack and Dmitriy got it done for me in under two hours and gave me a great price. The Shop since then has gotten more work and now it has a full CNC and lift inside to get all types of work done. I converse with Stellarbuilt on a regular basis for work I need to get done in the near future. I have sent a handful of friends to Stellar for - Suspension Installation - Alignment - Cab Mount Chops - Shock Relocation - F/R Bumper builds. It's a one- stop- shop in Sacramento for any of your fabrication/off road needs. Well where do I start? I called Stellar to do quite a bit of work on my 4runner, I spoke to Dmitri and he was just awesome!! Took his time listening to my long list of things I wanted and needed to get done quoted me a super reasonable price and his customer service was AMAZING!! I will follow that up to the day I dropped off my Runner I was met by Rob at the front office, he too was great attentive, we went over all the work to be done and he assured me if anything should arise he would call me, I left the runner in great care what should of taken a week to do these guys got it done in about 3.5 days I was in no rush but they are a very very busy shop well it's because they are really good at what they do. When I picked my Runner again Rob greeted me and went over all the work done and it was all done to my outmost satisfaction I was really happy with all the work done from raising the rig a bit more to accommodate 35s to adding a "wifey" air system to my current air compressor.. Overall these guys run a tight operation with attention to their customers wants and needs, from customer service to work done you won't be disappointed, strongly recommend their shop for your 4x4 needs.. Purchased Icon vehicle dynamics suspension and needed it installed and do a body mount chop. First heard of Stellar built through a coworker and then was recommended by a friend. Stellar had a one day turn around and could pencil me in a week. When I arrived at the shop Dmitry was not there, but one of the fabricators (Ivan) said the owner is just down the road. Instead of telling Ivan to get my keys and leave my truck, he had me wait so I could personally meet him and go over what needed to get done. They were very friendly and professional. Kept me updated throughout the whole process. Stellar build finished around the time they estimated it would be done. I couldn't recommend Stellar Built more. I found them on Instagram and knew I wanted them to work on my GX 470 before I even checked out their Yelp reviews. They lifted my rig, did a body mount chop, diff drop, all the necessary trimming, new wheels and tires, and a few other goodies. They are super knowledgeable and really take their time and stand behind their work. After a month with the new setup the rig didn't quite sit right in the back so they happily swapped out the rear coils for a different set. I live in the Bay Area and was up for an hour and a half drive for quality work, and will unquestionably keep making the drive back up to Sacramento as I keep building out my truck. read more

My experiences have been NOTHING short of exceptional at Stellar Built. Just simply bringing Dmitriy an idea for custom fab work and having him materialize that into something far greater than I had envisioned is a testament to the level of talent he possess at his craft. The other worker Ivan is also an extremely talented welder and fabricator and goes above and beyond to ensure the quality of his work is a reflection of his skills. I drive out to Stellar from Santa Cruz (~3 hour drive) because they're the only shop I know I can always depend on, without any doubts, for whatever I may request. The work is always done in a timely manner at EXTREMELY fair pricing. I will continue to support the Stellar Built operation in the future! read more

I am not super mechanically inclined, but I do as much work on my car as I can. But when I crawled under my Tacoma to change my oil and saw my cv boots were torn and grease had gotten everywhere I knew I would have to take it somewhere. I called a few shops around my office downtown and got quoted labor close to $300-350 PER SIDE not including parts. Ridiculous. Called Stellar and was quoted about $300 for labor on both sides, including axle seal (which they recommend you do if you're going to tear apart the front end anyway) and a dif drop. Super happy with their service, and they even let me chill on their couch and work while they worked on my truck. Highly recommend these guys. Also, they trucks and rigs they work on look incredible too... definitely had some truck envy while looking at some of the other trucks at the shop. read more

Stellar built did a great job of installing my king lift and cab mount chop to accommodate bigger tires. They stayed late on a Friday to finish the work and didn't get to start the work until about noon. Which I was grateful cause the parts didn't show up on my doorstep until almost 11am. So shocks, CMC, UCA'S and differential drop all got completed on that Friday afternoon. read more

I couldn't be happier with the customer service that the stellar built team gave me. I came in for a full suspension install and a cab mount chop on my Tacoma with very little notice while they were in the process of moving to their new location. They got the truck dialed into my liking and fixed my rubbing issue due to the aggressive offset of my wheels. I was also unaware of all of the services that they provide other than suspension installs. This shop is literally the one stop shop for all of my Tacoma's needs. I will be returning once I'm ready for my next upgrade. read more

These guys are awesome. I took my first gen tundra here to get new shocks/struts l, a lift, new upper control arms, tires/wheels and lower ball joints installed. They had the truck completed a day later without any issues. The truck looks and runs great. I'll be coming back here for future mods for my Toyota Tundra. read more

Brought in my JDM truck in for custom front and rear tube bumpers. These guys do extremely high quality work with great attention to detail. They carefully incorporated all the elements I requested- recovery points, stinger, hitch receiver, plate mounts. They really understand distribution of forces and loads. Stellar built was amazing with my sons 2016 Tacoma cab mount relocation. Very patient and great at helping us understand exactly what needed to be done in order to correctly mount 35s on his truck, given the amount of weight his truck is. However, my PCM bluetooth audio was completely damaged after the first upgrade and Johnny took the responsibility to reimburse me for the service charged from Porsche dealership to diagnose what's really going on. Although it's not the original plan, the new aftermarket Apple CarPlay system worked really well and also supported the features needed that turned out the good result for me. The most important thing was that Johnny offered all options for me to decide what I really wanted no matter to replace a brand new PCM system for $6,500 or an aftermarket system, and he only cared about what the customers really needed that made me feel comfortable during the whole service. Unfortunately the Volvo Nordkap interior on these cars is very sensitive and if not taken care properly from the start it can wear very fast. The previous owner failed and my front seats are trashed but Tim was able to bring some life back to them with his work. It's widely known that Tesla's paint application has been horrible. I was worried that this would get worse over time. After careful research, I decided on getting a ceramic coating and contacted Transparent Auto about the process. I was impressed with their knowledge and process, as well as being able to cure the ceramic to the car and wheels in the shop. I'm going to post some pictures, but the results are perfect! I cannot see one scratch on the vehicle, not even a mild one. It looks like a mirror! The wheels feel like my fingers are ice skating over them. The polish is perfect! Worth every dollar! He didn't want to give me my money back so instead he told me to bring it back and he will machine rotors for free. I took it back the second time, he took less time than he did the first time. After he said he was done, he claimed that I needed my back brakes and rotors done as well Long story short, my breaks are still squeaking & I ended up paying the same, as if I went to a well known shop (considering the price it cost me to travel back & forth with Ubers and gas). I was a first time customer & by all means this was a 1 star experience. Will not recommend or take my chances of coming back.

I cannot speak highly enough of Stellar Built and their exceptional service! Here's the story: I recently participated in TLCA's Rubithon 2024 event. I took my Toyota FJ Cruiser through the Rubicon Trail, and as you might expect, it was quite the adventure. Unfortunately, a crucial part decided it had had enough and broke down on me. Gary from Mudrak's Custom Cruisers was able to connect with them, they confirmed they had a the spare lower control arm link. Not only did they have the exact spare part I needed, but they went above and beyond to ensure they brought the part with them on the trail and delivered it at the camp site we stayed at. I dont often provide reviews or opinions because - they are mine and I don't really care what anyone else thinks. However - The Stellar Built Crew, whom I'd be very happy to keep all to myself, stand out in a crowd of fab shops to infinity and beyond! I really dig that SB is a big fan of Toyota builds (amongst others) both old and new. One could go hang out at this place for a BBQ (I hope SB plans one soon - I will chef up!) and gain some first hand knowledge and insight that very few forums are going to be able to provide at the wrenching level. These guys listen, research, advise and give sound council on what you want to achieve with your rig, mild or wild and with your budget in mind. Stellar Built is handling (in stages) the work on my son's 4Runner. There were shops much closer to our home but after much research my son chose SB to handle the project. Without hesitation we say it was a perfect choice and we are extremely satisfied with the quality and service. Having spent the day at SB I was able to observe their program. The friendly crew were extremely hardworking experts and definitely on top of their game! Rob, who I've dubbed the "Field General" is at the front counter and is extremely knowledgeable.
