No, no, a 1000 times, no. Someone please check my temperature next time I think it's a good idea to…read morevisit a waxing place when they 1st open. (writer's note - I ADORE this company and am an avid customer with great success in the past - please take this as a review of the location, and not the overall company!) First, the girl on the phone who made my appt gave me directions that sent me driving around for 15 minutes trying to find the place. Once there, it was super creepy and noticeable that they were new because all 10 of them were behind the desk to greet me. Then, 'surprise', you don't actually have an appt. Did you make it today? Nope, over a week ago. But don't worry, we'll get you in anyway. Weird, on the phone they said they were booked solid. Then after waiting more, the waxer comes out and actually shakes my hand as she introduces herself. Note to the staff- this is equally as creepy. She is very sweet, but even after I told her that I've been doing this a hundred times, she insists on walking me through every step. Ok, so you're practicing, I get that. Next time though, don't tell me every internal thought you're having. It was extremely clear she hasn't done this before and now I'm anxious I'll be walking out minus more than hair by the time she's done. It took three times as long as I normally take, and all the time I'm hearing her self-talk and I'm praying it'll be over. Here's the icing on the cake - in the middle of this, while I'm butt-ass naked, another woman comes barging in. Is the building on fire? Nope, she just needs to tell my waxer something. When I realize it's not an accident, I said 'you really should warn people before you just come in' and her response was that 'she is the trainer and the fact that she would be coming in whenever she wanted should have been told to me'. Well, shucks, it wasn't. Had it been, I would have run away, and fast. That is not only rude, but embarrassing. Professionals would at least have said sorry, not made an excuse. Flash forward ten minutes and I'm still living in limbo. At one point I realize the room is dirty, with wax pieces all over the floor. Oh lord, help me get out of here! Then we're done, so I said yes, I know what that serum is for, I have it. Wasn't enough, I still got a lecture on how to use it. Finally I'm getting out of there and she looks like she's going to 'rebook' me. No way. I was done. Had this appt not been free in the first place, I would have refused to pay. Perhaps they can work out the kinks and I'll try again in a year or so. Perhaps not.

She used to wax in the city, but has since moved upstate. I made it a point to stay in touch with her and continue to see her when I can make the trek. Not only is she well-versed in all European's products, she also has other beauty tips to offer. She makes services go by in a jiff using light conversation as a great distraction from the expected pain of a Brazilian haha. Thanks girl, you're the best! Honestly, I've never been disappointed with a waxer at European Wax Center. They've all been quick, hygienic, and courteous of my needs during services. Would highly recommend coming here first before a salon.

In short summary, they destroyed my skin, took my money, called me names, and shouted aggressively on the phone with me about it. At first it was a casual flavor in their interactions that borders inappropriate lack of professionalism. However this is a trend throughout the salon. Rude, harsh, unprofessional all throughout. Of course, however the incompetence and apparent lack of skill is what did it for me. Upon my initial visit they had my name wrong, after follow up the woman asked if I had a different name because my file was "under a different name." She never adjusted my name, odd but whatever, I'll swallow it. Towards the start of my first apt, the tech doing my laser told me she's actually moving and is not sure if the location (at which I just purchased thousands of dollars worth of laser) will have a replacement. She assured me she was leaving in two years. Shortly after she requested I not share with owners and her boss that she actually already purchased a home where she's moving and may be moving sooner...okay I'll swallow it because at this point I'm laying on this bed in the middle of my laser apt. and so anything in that moment. She showed me tons of pictures of her new home. Shortly after she started a portion of my laser she stopped frantically and said "Oh wait!! I hope you're not on antibiotics or have been within two weeks." Apparently it could be dangerous. I told her I took it three weeks ago and she paused and said "ehh I'm sure it'll be fine." She was an older woman who was squinting while doing my laser. She came to a line and skipped it by accidentally so I pointed it out, but she refused to believe that she skipped anything and said she always marks her spot so that's impossible. Again, nothing I could do. Following the appointment I had several burns on my leg which I wasn't too concerned about at first. When I told her about the burns she said "I used the right temp so I'm not sure what happened." However up to a month later I continued to have irritated, peeling, burned skin. After the month of poor skin reaction, I reached out in hopes of having the remaining balance I didn't use yet refunded. It was not a good fit for me. Wow! What an experience I had with their manager. They wanted to give me the thousands of dollars remaining back form of in merchandise credit, but why would I want to go back there? Too long to write but she called me rude and combative. She was yelling so intensely that she did not let me complete one sentence. She said they would return a portion of the remaining balance and I'm lucky because their "lawyer said I deserve nothing." When I asked how they arrived at the number they did she said I'm combative and yelled aggressively on the phone. She just kept yelling "take it or leave it !" On the phone. Ultimately she said take it or leave it and hung up the phone in my face and I couldn't reach her again. Still have no idea how they arrived at the number they did. Shocked the owner didn't have enough professional sense to call me herself. Interestingly enough the manager told me they have to keep an extra portion of my balance including the electric bill and the laser techs time...if that is not usually factored into the initial price you charge people, then I don't blame the employees (who are apparently not paid for their time and have to worry about covering the electric bill?) for their rude unprofessionalism. Sounds like a more fundamental issue in the higher ups.
