Smoked chicken and apple sausage quesadilla with butternut squash and pumpkin salsa sounded intriguing but also tasted bland. Menu seems to change weekly, and dinner seems to be served only Fridays and Saturdays. Fresh, seasonal, delicious. This is our go-to for weekend brunch. We've taken many friends there over the years. Their dishes are unique and we are lucky to have such a place in this neck of the woods. We just used them to cater our twins' and my nephew's Baptism. When another option fell through a week out, Bruno and Maureen jumped to rescue the party. They were pleasant, accommodating and very willing to work within our budget. Everything was excellent. People raved about the food; we actually ran out because people went back for seconds or even thirds! The cakes were yummy and not one cookie or pastry was left on the platters. Nice little walk-in restaurant on Main Street Hackettstown. I took my family there after Sunday service for breakfast. When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess and seated quickly. The place was clean and simple table settings. We ordered our meals and they arrived fresh and hot from the kitchen within 10 minutes. All the orders were correct and the food was great. The prices are a little on the high side but not to painful on the wallet. This place would easily get 4 stars from if it weren't for the flies. A group of my friends and I chose Stella Gs as a meeting point for us prior to our kayaking trip. I was really excited for this place. It looked adorable, and has pretty good reviews. Plus they have vegan options for my vegan friend! They looked pretty busy but we were sat quickly since we called ahead to let them know there was a party of 6 on the way. The server came and took our order and brought our drinks. Two completely different girls brought our food out. But they had no idea what they were even serving. 3 omlettes were ordered but they had no idea which was which. Neither did we! We waited as they figured that out. Little by little, all of our food was in front of us. All the while trying to get our original servers attention as she was chatting with a couple of her friends that came in. We thought if all 6 of us stared at her, maybe she'd get the hint that we needed her. Nope! I had to physically grab her as she walked passed us to get her attention. Then we all needed refills. Where's our server? Everywhere but our table. We got the attention of another girl that was holding up a wall along with two other girls. Our server didn't check on us one single time. Awesome place! This is a hidden gem in hackettstown. Only open for breakfast and lunch. Items are made from scratch. My husband had the skillet special came with a poached egg on top of corned beef hash and a bunch of seasonal veggies and a home made corn muffin. This place is so cute and quaint! The waiters are very friendly and knowledgeable and the food is amazing! The restaurant itself is quite small and usually busy during breakfast and brunch, but waiting time is never more than 15-20 minutes. There are also a couple tables outside if you prefer to eat outdoors. I usually get the eggs Benedict with rosti potatoes and it never fails to impress. The food presentation is always beautiful and the food itself is so delicious. The scones are also really great, especially the lavender ones. I will definitely come back, and often! read more

Stopped in here on a Friday morning, just the wife and I. She had the Salmon Eggs Benedict and I had the Corned Beef Hash. Both were quite tasty and excellent on the presentation. I love Corned Beef Hash and try it almost every time it's on a menu. This was definitely fresh, not out of a can. The poached egg on top was a perfect addition as was the Irish Soda Bread on the side. The coffee is a great roast, I drink it black and could've had multiple cups. If you order the French onion soup, be on the lookout for stray bay leaves - three that were not removed from the pot ended up in my crock of soup. Yum Yum Yum. I've had the opportunity to test out Stella G's twice now and both times have been wonderful taste experiences. The swiss onion soup is absolutely delicious as are their desserts - I've tasted both the carrot cake and the german chocolate cake. Last Sunday I decided to try a chicken sandwich. Sounds simple enough but it was far from it. The chicken was served warm and tender, in small pieces on apple bread, with avocado, melted cheese and a cider sauce drizzled over. I'm sure I'm not doing this menu item justice when I say it was a phenomenal taste experience. Service both times was very good, especially considering how busy they were. The staff were friendly, courteous and quick. I will definitely go back to Stella Gs. I was very happy to see that they are now open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. I took a vacation day from work on Friday Sept 30th and a friend and I headed down to try Stella Gs via recommendation from another friend who lives in Budd Lake. The 50 minute drive was definitely worth it. The food was amazing! It had fresh and seasonal ingredients with a perfect presentation. It's a breakfast/lunch place. They close at 2:30pm. I ordered the chicken stella with the sauce on the side and my friend got the veggie delight - well proportioned and healthy. The friend who recommended us to Stellas insisted we bring home scones to try. I got a cinnamon chocolate and an Irish Buttermilk. I had the Cinnamon chocolate for breakfast this morning. DELICIOUS and soft. You can tell by the taste of everything that it's made to order. Our waitress was extremely friendly and checked on us a few times. I would definitely without a doubt travel back to Hackettstown to eat there again. read more

Have been coming to this place quite often and they have always had consistently good food. Until today, when the most vile experience one could ever imagine happening at a restaurant happened. Halfway through eating my breakfast burrito and potatoes I found a dead ROACH ON MY PLATE, underneath my food. I was so disgusted and had to compose myself from vomiting right at the table. We informed the waitress and she offered to "bring something else to eat". I kindly refused, and will undoubtedly never return again. It's a shame because they do have good food, however I refuse to dine at a place that has serves roaches with their meals. read more

My bf got the steak and eggs- only thing I would recommend is ordering extra steak, the steak portion was extremely small and he ended up having to order more. I just had breakfast here at Stella G's. It is located in an old fashioned Main Street style store. This place is exceptionally neat and clean. There are Tiffany style overhead lights. The walls are painted rough cut wood as well as ceiling. There are a lot of tables including 2 outdoor sidewalk with umbrellas. There is also a counter with 6 or 7 stools to sit. They only serve breakfast and lunch. The menu is eclectic and we'll thought out. For my breakfast I had lemon ricotta pancakes with warm peaches and slivered almonds. I did not even use the maple syrup that was offered. The pancakes were light and none of the flavors were overpowering to each other. I also had a side order of turkey link sausage. This was a very good meal that I thoroughly enjoyed. With coffee, the cost was around $10. I can't wait to come back to try some other items. read more

All I can say is Wow. I had the Farmer's Casserole and it was awesome. I love the the they served it on an iron skillet. My wife had the Peach Omelet Brulee and it's an amazing twist on an omelet that's out of this world. The service was excellent.
