We have purchased several items from Steinhafels: a bedroom set, several lamps, a painting, and an outdoor furniture set consisting of 4 chairs and a faux stone-topped table. We've been happy with everything except the table. In fact, after two years, the tabletop began peeling, looking awful. I used the Steinhafel chatline (not recommended) then emailed them. We took care of this table and it should have given us more than 2 years of wear. Steinhafels agreed. Within a week, they replaced it with a brand new table at no cost to us. My husband and I were in need of new mattress and went to Steinhafels as we had purchased furniture there several times in the past that we were pleased with. I visited the store on my own to check out the options in King innerspring mattresses figuring I could narrow down the options before coming back with my husband to make the final selection. A sales associate named Stephen was very helpful in listening to my needs and suggesting mattresses to try. He was not pushy at all and encouraged me to take my time to try out the mattresses in the store. When I returned with my husband a couple of days to make the purchase, Stephen was not on duty so a different sales rep assisted me. While he tried hard, it was obvious he didn't know much about mattresses. I assumed, correctly it turns out, that he was new to the job. That was okay as I knew by that point what I wanted. My husband and I purchased an expensive king mattress, adjustable base, mattress protector, plus a warranty for the electronic base. We also paid a fee to have them remove the old mattress. The delivery team showed up on the delivery day within the scheduled window. When they arrived they asked my husband where he wanted the mattress and my husband reminded them that they were to remove the old mattress. They refused to remove the mattress as they found a very small light stain on the side. This is a mattress that was always covered by both a mattress protector and mattress pad and frankly looked almost new. The delivery man asked if the salesperson had told us about the mattresss removal policy and when we said no, he replied "they never do." I called the store and spoke to a manager who refused to budge on taking the old mattress. I explained how we were not informed of their policy when we purchased it and that we would have made other arrangements if we knew. My husband has health issues so moving a mattress was not a possibility. I pointed out to the manager that i had purchased quite a few pieces of furniture for both the my home and lake cabin over the years and would stop shopping there but he could have cared less. It is obvious that Steinhafels says they will remove the old mattress in order to make the sale but there is little chance that they will actually do it. Indeed, when my husband looked in the truck, there obviously wasn't room for our mattress and box spring. And to top it off we still haven't received that warranty for base that we paid for! Needless to say we will shop elsewhere in the future. read more

I purchased 4 dining room chairs at a cost of over $1,000. Steinhafels had been heavily advertising that on Veteran's Day, a veteran would save $100 on a purchase over $1,000. They refused to honor that discount because I was buying custom chairs (I chose the wood and upholstery). Strike one. The chairs came within the stated timeframe and the $30 delivery went well. When I opened the boxes, I was disappointed with the finishing work on all 4 chairs. The top sides were very good, but the undersides left much to be desired. All 4 chairs were missing the leg glides, and some of the legs would have scratched wood or caught on carpeting. I sanded the roughest, chipped one to avoid damage to my home. On one chair, they had ripped the underlining. Instead of neatly replacing that lining, they sloppily stapled the ripped pieces down. On all chairs, the staples and brads were sticking out from the wood. Note that the chairs in the showroom had none of these issues; all had glides and were neatly finished underneath. I called Steinhafels several times and sent them photos of the damage several times. Each time, it was like starting from square one. They couldn't find my customer record or the photos I had sent. Eventually, I was able to schedule a home visit. I had to wait a couple of weeks for a repairman to become available. Dan came as scheduled and did a nice job of adding the 16 glides and replacing the ripped lining. He couldn't do anything about the sloppy brads, as it would have risked doing damage to the wood. Much of the furniture in my home is from Steinhafels, as I have patronized them for decades. This is the first purchase in which I was dissatisfied with the workmanship. read more

My brother and I bought a new mattress and new box springs and a new leather sofa at the store in Madison off the belt line near culvers for 1285.98. We visited 3 times and finally bought the 3 items. We were told that it cost 119.95 for delivery of the sofa and when they brought in the new mattress and boxsprings they would remove the old one for free. Okay, so today the delivery guys said they wouldn't remove the old mattress cuz it wasn't on the receipt and then he hedged and hmmed and said that the mattress was stained and it was against their policy to remove a mattress that was stained. On the 3 visits we made neither Brian Skolaski, Jordan and a 3rd salesman at the West Town Mall store said anything about a policy about old mattresses, they just kept saying removal of the old mattress was free. My brother is disabled and can't lift anything. When I called customer service and talked to Ron he just kept repeating the company policy about mattress removal and said we were in the wrong and he couldn't do anything about it. By not telling us about their policy (a lie of omission) my brother is stuck with a mattress on the 4th floor of his apt Bldg. Steinhafels were great at selling and taking our money but when it came time to deliver they really messed up and their salesman and delivery people were rude when I talked to them (granted I was upset) and they hung up on me. When I called Brian Skolaski he told me to just refuse the items and not buy from them again and hung up. He said it was his day off and he didn't help us and he was driving [so, why did he answer his phone] and hung up. All three of the salespeople said nothing about stained mattresses and repeated pick up was free of old mattresses. i love Wisconsin because they take care of their disabled and old folks. Steinhafels doesn't deserve to be in business especially in Wisconsin. They are a disgrace and I don't know how they stay in business. read more

Terrible shopping experience! My better half and I were looking at living room furniture at Steinhafel's and didn't find it, but we saw a couple nice occasional pillows we wanted to buy. We asked a salesperson where the check-out counter was, and she steered us to a nearby kiosk. So far, so good. She entered our purchase, and I wrote out a check to pay for it. Over and done, right? Ha. I finished writing the check, and she said, "Oh, we don't take checks." I was amazed, but she said they only take credit/debit cards or cash. We decided to pay cash (and I was thinking, "well, that's pretty customer-unfriendly,"), but it continued to go downhill from there. She started asking for our address, phone number, etc. and I said,"We're going to pay cash." She said, "I know, but I have to put you in the system." What?? No choice, no "would you like to be in our system to expedite your next purchase here?" They HAVE to get you "in the system?" What if we don't want to be in the system, we just want to pay for our stuff and go? Had I been by myself, I would have left the pillows there and walked. But my spouse, who is infinitely more patient than I am, gave her the information. The saleswoman (who was very pleasant, just encumbered by a ridiculous system) entered all our information, which took way too long, told us an amount, and I counted out the exact dollar amount and change. Then she informs us that we can't pay at the kiosk, we have to go to the front of the store to pay. We all walk up front, and the woman working the counter is on the phone. So we wait to hand her the money. When she gets off the phone, she enters the info and gives us an amount slightly higher than what the saleswoman had said. I was still holding what I thought was the exact amount, and she said,"Uncle Sam has to get paid." I replied, "I realize that, but why didn't the saleswoman either include that tax or at least let us know the amount she gave was minus tax?" What a tedious, convoluted process to buy two pillows! It took a good 15-20 minutes, when it should have taken less than 5. I couldn't wait to get out of there and I don't plan on returning. read more

The tables we bought from Steinhafels are nice, but we were pregnant when we bought them and now have a toddler. Knowing that, we purchased the furniture warranty they offered because they described it as simple - Call and they send someone out. Cool! Well, now we have requested service from the warranty company and it has been hoop after hoop of jumping, no push-button simple here. I am becoming more and more convinced we were sold a bill of goods on the warranty by Steinhafels and will never get the service we paid for. About a week ago we spend over 2500 dollars at steinhafels and ordered more than 5 pieces of furniture two bar stools, a kitchen table with 6 chairs, an ottoman , and a nightstand. Today the night stand and the bar stools arrived both damaged. The nightstand had a chunk missing from the top back corner and the bar stools were both missing hardware to assemble them. When I called customer service to inquire about replacing the pieces, the service representative Mary Kay was extremely rude and curt. She told me that a service representative would be available the next day too provide the hardware on the bar stools. Then she refused to give me any sort of timeframe as to when the service man would be able to come by. Apparently their philosophy is that you have all day to sit around and wait for them to repair their shoddy furniture. Mary Kay didn't even ask me specifically how many pieces of hardware were missing from the bar stools so I am expecting the serviceman to come tomorrow without the hardware that he needs to remedy the issue; this is going to lead to more wasted time and we can all agree that time is the most valuable commodity we all have. read more

Every time we make a purchase from this company my wife and I end up regretting it. Many years ago it was a recliner that took 6 months to come in and no one could tell us why. Last year, it is a modular sectional that was delivered without all the pieces we ordered and some pieces that were delivered were not constructed properly to fit together. Recently, it was a floor lamp that was supposed to take a week and a half and it took over 4 months. You call in for a resolution and get no where. Their customer service is a JOKE, just saying anything to get you off the phone or they hang up on you as happened to me when trying to reach them. I asked multiple times when I could expect it in and was told 1-2 weeks every time. On one call I was told that it would be on the next shipment then later in the conversation the same rep told me there is no way to know what is included in each shipment...wait didn't you just tell me that it will be on the next shipment this coming week now you say that there is not way to tell. Then the rep proceeded to stammer an incoherent answer explaining that there is no way to tell when it will be in but early next week is the eta. If it is an eta why tell me that it will be next week when you really have no idea. Or better yet have the foresight to call you customers and let them know there is a problem. Horrible customer service all the way around. I will not even bother shopping with your company in the future as a result. Horrible company to work with and there are plenty of other options in the Madison area. We will not be back. Edit (5/26/16): We recently needed to have a piece of the aforementioned sectional fixed because of shoddy workmanship on the wood frame on it's interior. I called on Monday of last week to schedule a tech was told someone could be at my home the next afternoon. They did not know what time but it would be before 2:30 as that was their last appointment time for my area. The next day, Tuesday, no one showed but I did get a call at 4:30 letting me know that my appointment had to be rescheduled. Thanks for having me waste my whole afternoon. I asked to speak to a manager and Steve Steinhafel called me. I was surprised by this and had hope that this meant I would get answers for some questions I had. It turned out Steve has no real ability to provide customer service aside from saying, "I'm sorry that this has happened to you" after each statement I made. I asked him to provide me with one, just one, good reason why after all of my experiences with his company that I would consider doing business with Steinhafels' in the future. His only response was that he understood entirely why I felt the way that I did and that my concerns were valid. I know they are valid, but thanks for dodging my concerns entirely, condescending, and neglecting to provide even a single reason to continue spending money with your company. Later in the conversation I advised my wife and I will be looking to purchase a new bedroom set and will be spending a great deal of money in the near future and asked again for a reason to consider Steinhafels. Again I received an answer that avoided the question and patronized my intelligence as a consumer. This is they company that you are choosing to do business with if you step into their stores. This is a manager that appears to be related to ownership. After that I was done speaking with him. He had won. I no longer had any interest in speaking with him and he had successfully gotten me off the phone. Great customer service... I hope someone at Steinhafel's reads this and sees that this past weekend I did purchase a new bedroom set from a competitor and didn't give Steinhafel's even slight consideration because of the conversation I had with Steve Steinhafel. I waited two more months than I was told for delivery of my furniture. Two of the items were defective upon delivery. The all leather couch I found out was made in China. The dinning room table is made of cheap particle board. We paid thousands of dollars for the cheaply made furniture . On top of it all customer service was not great to say the least. read more

Do *not* use their "Design Service." Waste of time and money. What their web page says is received: Floor Plan, Decorating Plan & Budget, Recommended Colors, Furniture, Accessories and Finishes, List of Recommended Suppliers. What we received: a simple floor plan with 2 sofas (which we had already chosen), a table and a chair. After a month, the so called decorator gave us no plan, no suggestions, no ideas. He was out twice to measure. When we complained, they gave us back less than a third of our money (which the decorator had said was going to be taken off the furniture price. It was not). If you want to buy a mattress set, make sure you understand the 120 day sleep guarantee. We bought a Serta I Comfort Insight mattress that felt good in the store. To get the 120 day sleep guarantee we had to buy a mattress cover at the same time (another $120). Then we paid shipping ($27) because we live 1/2 mile outside Dane county. The mattress wasn't anything like the one in the store. It felt like laying on 2 1/2" memory foam over a wooden board. Went back to the store, because we were sure we had the wrong mattress. Were told to give it time, need to sleep on it for 4-6 weeks. Checked Serta's website were they say the same, sleep on it for at least 30 days, they offer the retail store a 120 day return. That, however is not what Steinhafels offers. After sleeping on the mattress for 6-7 weeks and waking up with backache every morning, we decided to return it. Not so! We had to choose another mattress, which had to be the final election. But how could we be sure? How could we trust what they have in the showroom? The mattress from the showroom that we originally wanted was not what we received. We picked a Simmons this time ($100 more) and this time were charged their "normal" delivery charge of $106.95 ($112.83 with tax). The salesperson, Tom S., messed up the return transaction. He left a phone message and claimed I had said this was an even exchange (not true!) and that we had to pay more, even though the sales slip clearly said the right higher price, and that he could not set up delivery until we do. That took more phone calls and finally another trip to the store's customer service, who said they were not sure what he was talking about. In the end, after doing the math, we even had paid a few bucks more than we should have. Over the years we had bought a mattress set, a love seat, a leather sofa and recliner and 2 carpets. But after this debacle I very much doubt that we will buy anything else from Steinhafels. read more

Their furniture is nice, but can be over priced. You would think with the money people are spending, Steinhafels could assure amazing customer services. Unfortunately, their customer service sucks. It took forever for my husband and I to get our furniture, and the sales associate did not follow through on various things she said. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! Bought a very, lovely couch, chair and ottoman from Steinhafel's in Madison. After wrestling with the idea to stay with the stock pattern on the 7 pillows that come with the set or custom ordering, I decided to keep the stock pattern because I would have to wait 8 weeks for the whole set. The sales girls sets up delivery for 2 weeks from Labor Day. I tell her that's a Monday and that I'm a full time teacher so it would have to be in the evening. She said that was not a problem; when they call to give me the delivery time window to let them know that. Then I go home and look up the manufacturer to show someone what we had bought and see online that the stock pattern for the pillows I was just sold were discontinued which the sales girl never told me about. I called to say what happens if the pillows come damaged because then you can't replace them and I was told by customer service that at first she didn't see why I was concerned about that and IF that happened they could send someone out to "fix" it. I just wanted to order different pillows but was not given that opportunity. Today, I get an email-NO phone call mind you- that says my delivery time for tomorrow is between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. There is a number on the email to call if that time doesn't work for me. I call and am told that you cannot choose the delivery window; that they decide what is best for them (NOT the customer). I explained that the sales girl told me that I could decide the delivery window, and he told me she was wrong. I asked if they expected me to take off work for furniture and he said I could reschedule for 3 weeks from now!!! Are you kidding me??? It's already been 3 weeks for in-stock items. So we call back to speak to a manager and are told the same thing. We said if they can't deliver after 4 p.m., then cancel the order. We were told they would put the request in and then call us back. The call back said the delivery manager said they cannot come back at the time we were originally promised so we said to cancel it. When did it become okay to treat customer like that. The sales girl was their representative and they should have backed up what she said!!! read more

Beware! They messed up our order and delivered one of the wrong pieces in our sectional. When we asked to return the piece, they charged us a "restock fee" of a couple hundred dollars. Awful customer service. They will hang up on you multiple times and then when you finally speak with a manager, they tell you that they will call you back and never do. They also have poor quality products that are expensive. We bought their nicest bed frame brand and it makes noises (cracks and creaks) every time you make the slightest movement. They have attempted to "fix it" but never do. They refuse to allow a full refund because we bought the product in a different color (black finish) than what is on the store room floor, which they classify as a "special order". They are not friendly and the salesperson didn't fully disclose that the entire bed wasn't made of wood (some parts particle board). In addition, we were told the bed would be delivered in 4-6 weeks. I have bought over a dozen pieces from Steinhafels. I like there selection and if you buy during sales the prices aren't bad. I continue to buy from them but the sales are hit or miss. Sometimes people are attentive and helpful, other times i want to throw a lamp to get some attention. This should be four stars but the staff needs some customer service training. This includes one of the managers who I witnessed belittling a salesperson on the sales floor. It irritated me pretty bad and we almost walked out. read more

Purchased a mattress. Told I had to also purchase the frame or would void warranty. The mattress was delivered with a 5 inch opening in the seam. Delivery staff told me I could either accept the mattress and sew the seam myself (?!), or wait 5 days for a replacement mattress, but I couldn't use the mattress or it would void the warranty. They had already taken my old mattress and it was dirty and stained from the roll down the driveway and into the truck. So I slept on the floor for 5 days with a back injury. Frame broke while still under warranty, was replaced and the 2nd frame broke two days later. They apologized but never made an effort to expedite delivery of the defective mattress or bed frames. And the warranties do not restart with a replacement frame. A breaking bed frame is dangerous and damages my floor and carpet. Not acceptable. Will not purchase from Steinhafels again. read more

Recent experience with purchasing a mattress was a complete disaster. Purchased bed from their new bedding store on the west side. Salesperson told us that mechanical base could be taken apart to fit up our old, narrow stairs. On delivery day we found out that was not true. I immediately called salesperson while delivery crew was still at my house and he gave me his word that we would receive a split mechanical base at no additional charge. He said he would do some checking and get back to me. He did not return my call for several days but then said he was able to find one and that it would be delivered the next week. The day before the delivery was supposed to happen I found out that the split mechanical base was not in stock and would not be until March 20. Salesperson did not call to tell me this and when the delivery person tried to transfer the call to him he wouldn't take the call. I waited until March 20 and called to see if order was in. Found out that my finance was goofed up on my purchase and that I couldn't set up delivery yet because the truck had not arrived with my item. I asked to talk to the manager. Salesperson was not there and manager had to do some digging and get back to me. He called me a couple of hours later and said that he could not honor the commitment the salesperson made because it would be below cost. I asked to talk to his manager and I was transferred to one of the Steinhafels. He would not approve the sale either. He said they discounted as far as they could and that I could have the split mechanical base but I would need to pay about $400 more. He said that they did not have to honor the salesperson's commitment because he did not get it approved and that all sales are subject to an auditing process and manager approval. I had them put the sale on hold and asked the manager to talk to salesperson to see if he would own up to the situation. Manager called today to say salesperson said he did not make that promise. He claims he said "he would see what he could do". I told the manager to cancel the sale and come and pick up the mattress and refund our deposit. They are supposed to pick it up on March 30 but I don't have any confidence it will go off without an issue. We went over to American TV tonight and a helpful salesperson helped us pick out a different mattress. Hopefully all goes well with this sale. We told them the story of what happened and they couldn't believe how it was handled. I'm sharing my story here so hopefully others will not have this same experience. I'm also reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and to the Consumer Protection Agency and any site like this that I can find. Buyer beware when dealing with Steinhafels, especially if you go to the mattress store. read more

Stay away!!! We have spent thousands of dollars at Steinhafels over the years and our most recent experience (a purchase worth $15,000) in April & May was the worst experience in customer service we have had EVER!! We purchased a new home that needed complete furnishings and window coverings so we went the extra mile and hired one of their designers, Patti Stint. She was great while we were buying, but when we were done purchasing and when problems began to arise, she took the low road to say the least. We called to hopefully meet with a store manage and Patti to sort things out, and when you call Steinhafel customer service, it goes to the corporate office, and they put your request in a "pool" as they called it. We made 2 calls over a weeks time, neither of which was ever returned, so we wrote an extensive letter to corporate explaining the problem and again...NO response by Steinsafels!! The problem was not with the furniture but with their management of our drapery order. They told us "YES" we do drapes, then when problems started to arise, the reply was, "that's not a Steinhafel problem, it's between you and the drapery company, which by the way, was not selected by us, we thought Steinhafels was selling them to us. Patti took her cut of the commission, then when waters ran deep, she was "with other clients". Thankfully for us, the drapery company we were working with came through for us even though the main issue was that Patti never provided anyone with proper paperwork for all to see and sign and mistakes were made. Shame on Steinhafels & Patti for their extremely poor customer service practices!!! read more

I gave it a 1 star due to the fact they do have a decent selection and decent prices. The rest is a complete joke. 1st tip is do not deal with salesman Brian Sckolastic. He will lie to you every way possible and when you go back to him on questions he will lie to you again and say it was not worded just like that. He will push you in every direction you do not want to go in and then when you want to return it there will be extra charges and delivery fees again and everything else. We bought a whole set of furniture. The recliner we were not that fond of in the store but I had 1 requirement and that was I did not want a recliner that you could hear the mechanism or squeaking noises.. He assured me the recliner we bought that was more expensive then the others we liked. Since he assured us and pretty much ripped it apart to display why I decided to listen. Well after 2 weeks with it it was louder then our tv. So we went into talk and exchange our piece out he told me that ya that can happen and they just have all these options and different settings and they will make some noise. I was seriously like wtf are you kidding me. So then I question him on our large sectional we got. We asked him in the store about upgrading to 2 power recliners over just 1. Was told thats a big price increase so I let it go. After delivery and inspected individual item pricing the power recliner would of been cheaper then what we got? So after a new recliner picked out and the piece ready to order for the sectional there would be 2 delivery fees added on to this charge. The pick up is free but separate charge for each piece? Makes no sense because your already at my house and it would all be on same truck. But before any of this we were told once you pay the delivery charge they will all be free until you are completely satisfied. I even questioned him on that and he said absolutely, part of our services. So when I say he would of worded it differently , he says that all pick ups are free. Well if it was just me there I would maybe think I heard something different but when multiple people were there and all of us thought wow thats pretty cool. Next part is the recliner we bought second was cheaper by a few hundred bucks. They don't credit you back for that recliner you buy the other one and then they refund you weeks later. Well we did there 5 year 0% and paid a grand out of pocket when there. So during this return i was a little hesitant to buy a 2nd recliner with out the other money. Again he assured me I would get all my money back on my debit card. Well the refund came and that did not happen either. Money was applied to the 0% card not to us. Exactly what he promised not would happen. Regardless we got the credit and will not have to pay that off on the card now but what is the point of a 0% card if you pay it off at a grand a time. However is what I am getting to is I would like to look out for the next family to deal with this joker that does not know a thing about what is going on in the store. Nothing against fast food restaurants but that is where this man belongs. People Be smart and go to your small town furniture stores. They carry very good quality and maybe a bit more expensive but your customer service will be great. read more

Saleswoman I had was pushy from the get-go. I told her I wasn't sure how the bed would go with my antiques so she tried to sell me their design service. I didn't take her up on her pricey designers and said I wanted to take a picture of the bed, take it home and see if it would fit in OK with my other furniture. At that point she gave me her card and disappeared. When I returned to the store a couple hours later, she had left for the day even though she had told me she'd be there until at least 6pm. Another salesman wrote me up but gave her credit for the sale. Since then she has been emailing me constantly and hassling me about a delivery date even though I told her coworker that I was unsure of when I wanted delivery and setup. This woman needs to chill! Dishonest sales techniques! I purchased a couch and made it very clear I had my truck there and wanted to take the couch home that same day. I had inquired about the cost of delivery and was told it was 59 in the product was just dropped off in a garage or outside and 129 to be set up. I decided I would just transport the couch myself, the sales man reported this was no problem it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I went to load the couch I was greeted by the sales man and the manager who reported there had been a mistake. Since I had financed the couch I could not take the couch for three days. I asked the manager how he was going to remedy their mistake because I lived in a different town and was unwilling to return in three days for the couch. I requested he deliver the couch and waive the delivery fee. He refused and said it would be 179 for me to have the couch delivery. He was very unapologetic for the situation and would not do anything to try to fix it. In the end I returned the couch and closed my account with them. I recently purchased a new house and am in need of purchasing several furniture items after this I will never shop there again! read more

I went to Steinhafel's yesterday and was introduced to Becky who turned out to be MOST excellent. First of all, she listened to what I was trying to accomplish in my great/living room. She showed me a number of pieces that might meet our needs, but then she kept listening to how I responded to what she showed me and then could redirect. She helped me problem solve and brainstorm. She stayed close enough to be able to respond quickly, but she gave me a little room to think and explore. She stayed with me for hours as I looked pieces over closely. I had just gone into search, but with her excellent help, I found a number of pieces that would work in my given space. I ended up buying what I needed. Now, don't get me wrong, I have been to Steinhafel's before and have not always been treated so royally. I find that in many furniture stores, the sales person tries to see how fast they can get me to commit to what they think I need rather than help me figure out what I need. In this case, I have found someone who not helped me on this transaction, but who will be able to help me in the future. I haven't received the furniture, yet, but I wouldn't hesitate to call Becky with any questions or concerns. read more

we ordered a custom bedroom set after 13 months fighting to get it delivered undamaged and in the correct color. and they lost half the set, we returned it and am fighting to get our money back. horrible products horrible management.. don't waste your time buying from here. read more

Not very happy with my experience at this establishment and will not return to buy any furniture items here in the future. My wife and I had been shopping around for a new Tempurpedic. These mattresses, unfortunately, have fixed prices from the manufacturer, so any sort of sales advantage for retailer competition is usually based on inclusion of the foundations, pillows, covers, etc. While shopping around, we were pleasantly surprised at the excellent salesman, Tom, that we interacted with at this location. Although we had found better offers at some other local retailers, we were assured that Steinhafels would match any other offers, so we returned to this location to purchase our new mattress. We spent quite a bit of time (3 hours) trying the mattresses/pillows, then when purchase time came, we were informed that they would not match a local competitors offer, by the shift manager. Additionally they needed to order the mattress, even though the local competitor had our size mattress in stock. The sales person who had put all the hard work in, was being screwed by management. We didn't want to also screw the sales person so we ate the $100 difference to do the right thing. Fortunately, it would only be 1 week of waiting time for our mattress and free next day delivery when it arrived. Well over 2 weeks have now passed, and still no mattress. They do not have next day delivery, regardless of their promises, our mattress has been sitting in their Waukesha warehouse for 6 days now, pending an available delivery truck. You will likely be disappointed by broken promises if you decide to shop here. read more
