I feel the need. The need for mead. Fermenting it, that is. Having designs to start fermenting the oldest known alcoholic beverage in the world, I began researching/watching videos, to see what I'd need. Being a longtime fermenter of kombucha, the process of making mead seemed quite similar. With a checklist of equipment and prices from online retailers, I made a visit to Stein Fillers to compare prices & gather tips from the staff. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=SOcm3uaDA3cpjyqWjaQG1g&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA A small, yet fully equipped home brewing supply store, Stein Fillers is stocked with everything necessary for a large macrobrew operation to the small scale home fermenter. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=W3I8IlBqsRgMEjwuMCSxig&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA I found the merchandise to be competitively priced with online retailers. Prices were cheaper on some items, more for other items. In regards to buying fragile glassware, I have piece of mind knowing they are intact (unless I drop them on the way home), opposed to hoping shipping doesn't damage them. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=zgs1QxXJFNoyyzflGsa1gw&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Service was good. The woman working that day was pleasant and made insightful recommendations for me to start my mead adventure. Stein Fillers also conducts classes on beer brewing every month. Parking is in the front, with more behind the building. Stein Fillers is located adjacent to Happy's Liquor, across from Jack in the Box. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=udS2mSgqzIi6FPg0JCpnsA&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Here I go on my journey to ferment the nectar of the Gods. My trip to Stein Fillers has me giddy with anticipation to dip my proverbial toe into making mead. I came home with most of the equipment I need, the rest I can source cheaper, elsewhere. I'm already planning to come back soon to make more purchases. Highly recommend!

The greatest thing about Stein Fillers is their knowledge base. Their ingredients are high quality. Plus, you'll want to join the Long Beach Homebrewers. The annual dues is $25 and you get a 5% discount on all Stein Fillers purchases, which pays for itself if you're an avid brewer. There are monthly meetings where Homebrewers get together and share each other's brews. I'm a total n00b, 8 days into my first brew (Grapefruit IPA; ingredient kit is from Stein Fillers) and I ask them a ton of questions that they are more than happy to answer.

I believe that these guys have been in business for quite some time. I'm not sure how.... These guys are strait up pricks... Yes they have plenty of grain, hops, yeast. Prices are just okay. As read in other reviews, customer service is atrocious. Seemed like I was inconveniencing them buy spending my hard earned in their store. The owned seemed as if he checked out and stopped giving a crap years ago. The helper, some dude with a 90's looking goat-tee, seemed as if he was actually going out of his way to be unpleasant. Sorry that you had to get up out of your chair and weigh some grains for me bro, but that's you job. Both times I asked for assistance they gave me a general "it's over there somewhere, find it yourseld" answer. I will not only NEVER shop here again, I will tell every homebrewer I know to shop at addisons where they are cool and friendly. If I could give you negative stars I would. I may however, give you the finger next time I drive by on the way to my friends house! Namaste bitches...

My BF and I have been a roll growing vegetables, fruit, composting, so why not home brewing our own beer! The store has everything you will need if you're a first time brewer or experienced. They will give their honest advice without trying to sell you more. They have kits in a box with a description of the beer. Once you buy the basic supplies, the only things you'll need is another kit and new bottle caps, so the cost of home brewing comes down to $30 for 48 12oz bottles. They also sell cold bottles of cola, root beer, and sarsaparilla for the kiddos or non-drinkers.

I have to be honest. Contrary to some other reviews. I wasn't sure what to expect. I started going in about a year ago and at first I did notice the two guys there were a bit on the quiet side. Seems to me they kinda let you do your own thing. They will always ask if you need help. In my case I'm always looking for ideas based on what I see. When I have questions they seem to be open to helping without being mean or sounding snobby. I live in whittier which might very well be between Adisson and Stein Fillers. I will keep going here as long as they keep making good beer kits. Reasons to go to Stein Fillers? -Already made Beer Kits -List of Kits made for you with in minutes -Beer Kits are good price *Adisson Home Brew will make a beer kit for you but will cost around $40+ (quoted) Everyone is a noob at some point, just keep brewing!

The instructor was friendly and informative, teaching us the step by step process to fermenting tea to get kombucha. He was really patient with all our questions and encouraged us to experiment with different flavors, even providing a Scoby to kickstart our home brewing! There were four flavors being sampled, and my favorite was definitely the Yuzu - crisp and refreshing, with the perfect level of carbonation. I also really enjoyed the Bloom flavor, which was infused with blueberries. He mentioned that they have limited edition flavors, which they switch out from time to time. They are available at local farmers markets and have a brewing room in Huntington Beach you can visit. Overall, great kombucha and I want to give a special shout-out to the excellent customer service provided by the instructor.

This was one that we enjoyed quite a bit. The flavor we had was the Hibiscus Ginger. This was a fun one to have as I am always about ginger and I am pretty fond of Hibiscus. Both of those flavors play off each other well and the drink proved to be refreshing. So in the end definitely a positive experience with this kombucha brand !

The place itself is very spacious with lots of seating options. We went on a Friday evening and had no problem finding a table. Staff is very friendly and were quick to serve us. We ordered three slices of pizza: bbq chicken, buffalo chicken, and the OG pepperoni. All of them were great! We recommend all three of them. We also ordered their mini sliders and buffalo wings. We weren't big fans of the sliders. Not entirely sure if it was the meat, or the sauce but the taste profile wasn't our cup of tea. Those wings were massive! We couldn't decide between the lemon pepper or buffalo and decided for Buffalo. We unfortunately couldn't get half and half for the 8 piece but that's an option for the 16! We definitely want to go back to try the lemon pepper. As far as the drinks, they have a solid menu of items. We didn't try too many beers so I can't speak too much on that. Overall, this is a great brewery and will definitely be back!

I tried the guava and peach beers that were amazingly NOT ciders. They were light and refreshing. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but I really enjoyed it. The food looked good too, but we had just gotten off of a cruise ship, so we were not hungry, but I'd love to come back for food sometime. We also walked from our hotel, which was a very hot walk, so the cold beers were appreciated. Frankie was our bartender, and he was great with all of our questions and sample requests. The owner, Lori, stopped by to chat with us as well, and she was very pleasant. I really enjoyed this place and would stop by again. My only disappointment was that they didn't sell their beers in cans. My husband would've liked to take some beers to go. Also they don't sell stickers anymore.
