This store is sooo much better than the old one. It doesn't suffocatingly wreak of incense when you walk in. But do watch your step when you go in. I made a not-so-graceful entrance walking into this place and denied the big noise I made...tee hee. I've purchased both hand-blown glass items and beautiful, wood-carved accoutrements here. The super friendly guys always throw in some little freebie, like blueberry papers, when I'm checking out. I like that this new store is not yet cluttered with too much merchandise like the other one. Now that it is in a more high-profile area though, the parking can be a challenge. Recently came in with my girlfriend looking for a new glass piece. For being such a "hole-in-the-wall" shop, it's got a decent selection of products. Price wise, I was also impressed...20 bucks for a mid-sized glass pipe (the one my girlfriend bought had a green frog on it). Unfortunately, she dropped the piece outside of our apartment on the concrete and broke it. We decided to head back and pick up another one, not expecting a discount or anything. It was her negligence that became the death of the pipe. We walked in and she tells her sad story and after some looking around, finds another one to her liking...in the end, the man behind the counter gave her 10% off, which was very cool of him... This shop is incredibly quaint and surprising. I was surprized at the price of the glassware. If you just talk, they will show you the good deals. I did notice the lack of variety. It doesn't matter, they have shirts, clear papers and enough to get you by. The rest of the merchandise is fairly price, no special deals on that. I went here for my first time buying a pipe, that probably wasn't the BEST idea. $18 for something that fits in the palm of my hand and the selection was not the best, it was kind of empty. The place was a lot emptier than I had expect also. I can't say much about this place really even though I had just been there a few hours ago. The man working there however was very courteous, so that makes up for the price just a little bit. I just have the feeling that in the future I will probably experience some better places. Edit: I was right. I went back to my hometown about a month later and found a place that was about 20x better. Sorry to say it but the quality here just didn't seem that great by comparison, and my hometown is a middle of nowhere bum country kind of place. read more

So at first glance the staff is very friendly and they sell high quality products. When I opened the box the the wax pen I bought, WHICH THEY REFUSED TO LET ME CHECK IN STORE, I find that the charge port doesn't line up with the hole and after I do get it to line up with the hole it won't charge unless I hold it at an angle. After plugging it in the second time the charge port broke. And I brought it back into the store and asked for an exchange. I was told I should have checked it in atore, WHICH THEY REFUSED TO LET ME DO, and that they couldn't exchange it because I took it out the door. Fuck. These. People. This is NOT good business practice and they need to have their business license revoked. read more

I've coming here on and off for years. Only because I like the location. And previous owner wasn't the best at customer service. I recently went there to purchase something and I wasn't sure about the item. And this reggae man (Todd the new owner which I had no idea at that time) came out started to talking to me on very welcoming, accommodating , diplomatic level which I was pleasantly surprised how awesome this new guy was. He said i could exchange it if it doesn't work out. I'm like what? That phrase would not, never come out of the previous owner. Of course item gotta be in unused original condition. I was so grateful and very satisfied wth customer service. Matt usually helps Me and his GREAT. I became one of Todd's royal customer. He is getting in alot of one of a kind piece in his shop. Oh and price is better than other places. I'm def recommending this place. I'm a one happy customer. read more

I went into Head Hunters not knowing what to expect. The guys in there were totally friendly and helpful! The prices are completely reasonable and they have a good selection. Clean quiet little store with ok customer service. But DO NOT PUT FAITH IN THEM....THEY LIE!!! I put a portable vaporizer on hold for one day. Within hours I got a call that someone else wanted it so they sold it. They tried to offer me an at home unit, but if I wanted an at home unit then why would I have asked to hold the portable one??? I won't shop here again if they paid me and I won't recommend anyone else either. I could see if it wasn't on hold, but the guy, Ken promised to hold it and that changed. NOT COOL!!! read more

The new location at 224 Redondo Ave has made a great shop into an amazing one. When they first moved I was sad that my local smoke shop left, but instead of moving far away, they moved into an area that me and all of my frineds live in. What was once a car drive away, is now a walk down the street for all of us. I have experienced great service there and I am excited they are near my home now. The products there are priced well and they come from some of the best glass blowers around. From 2nd street, to 4th, and now Broadway, I have stayed with this shop and I intend on keeping i that way. Thanks for supporting the smoking community of Long Beach so well. read more

First of all there aren't any other places around (from LA to Venice to San Diego) the area that can compete with the completely reasonable prices that this shop has to offer for the high quality of glass which they stock. I mean they do have cheaper pieces for the less discerning customer, but I don't know of any other place that offers glass on glass with a percolator and diffuser steam for less than $250 OTHER THAN HEAD HUNTERS. Every time i go look at a tubes there i am surprised to find that the prices are a good $50 cheaper than what i expect to find based on other shops. Their selection is sweet. They have almost everything you could want. Thank god they are smart enough to not carry those horrible gimmick Zong pieces that most rinky dink shops carry. As for the employees, shit those dudes are pretty informed and informative (a rare combination). I have never gotten an attitude from those guys. I suppose you would if you're an idiot and you go in there trying to prove something or wax intellectual about how you know a guy in NorCal that can get you a better price. Shit, I'd give you're punk ass an attitude too. I hate know it alls. I DIGRESS. I don't know what you could complain about... Sweet Prices..... Great Selection... Chill, Knowledgeable Employees...
