This place is equal parts charming and nostalgic. The restaurant is clean, well decorated, and inviting. There are several tables to sit at and small counter as well. The smash burgers are made fresh and come on a perfectly toasted potato bun. The onion rings were well seasoned, thick, and crispy. I impulsively ordered dessert to go and I am so glad I did. The warm spiced cake with the dulce de leche filling and vanilla ice cream was so comforting and flavorful. There were daily specials and Tuesdays are family day. This is a great place to stop for lunch, dinner, or even if you just want to grab some fun ice cream desserts. read more

The burger was decent, nothing special. And their "special sauce" is literally ketchup and mustard (heavier on the mustard) read more

Great burgers. One of the best hamburgers I have had since moving to Florida. The service was excellent.

Tried this place for the first time recently. Entire family enjoyed the smash burgers. Great value for the price. Staff is super friendly.

Service is phenomenal! Best smash burgers around. Everything is fresh and hot and delivered quickly. Cute little spot with a few outside tables. read more

Great family owned business. We decided to give this place a try a few months back. We were there on "family day" with their hamburger/cheeseburger specials. The burgers were really tasty, the tomatoes and lettuce were fresh. The French fries were well-cooked and they had the malt vinegar that we both prefer, although they did have ketchup in case. During our second visit, we tried the deep fried breaded Brussels sprouts, way better than what we expected. The waitress is part of the family is personable and professional. Since then, this has become a regular outing for us...best burgers, particularly for the price. The only other burger I could compare them to is another restaurant where the burgers are maybe slightly better, but at almost 3 times the cost! For those who haven't been there, if you want a relaxed, down-home throw-back family restaurant, this is a really good choice. We want to support local businesses, the local businesses need to step up and WANT to provide quality like this, We've become regulars. read more

This is a terrific place to eat!!! The food is cooked fresh and served hot!! Evie and Cheryl are friendly waitresses. Dave the owner does the cooking. I like the double cheeseburger with bacon ,onion rings, peanut butter and chocolate ice cream for dessert. Try it !!! read more

We had been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally checked it out! Unassuming exterior and interior but clean and neat! Our server was excellent - let us know ahead of time there would be a wait for the food (they had a large party come in before us), checked on us often and was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. We had fried mushrooms for appetizer - really good, lightly battered and very juicy. Hubs and I both had the cheeseburger and it was amazing - a good "old-timey" burger on a yummy potato bun. I added grilled onions to mine - so good. We split an order of fries and an order of onion rings - loved the crispy onion rings (good onion flavor, not just batter!)! Probably wouldn't order the fries again - maybe a little overcooked and not crispy at all. All in all, will come back again and again for the delish burgers and onion rings and look forward to trying a dessert. read more

Have driven by this place often the last couple of months and finally went in. So glad we did! We were a party of four: 3 burgers and one patty melt, along with sharable sides: fries (ok), mushrooms (ok), sweet potato fries (very good) and onion rings (really really good). We shared an unusual, but delicious, dessert...the bacon wrapped churros. Not sure why it works but it does! Yum! read more

Steer In Burgers - Smash burger and homemade fries! - Burgers Near Me - Ormond Beach, Florida

So I first went to this place when it opened. I was excited about a new burger place, and they advertised an "Angus smashburger" so I was hoping for a great new eating venue. I was promptly bummed. Even though I placed the order over the phone about 20 minutes before arriving, I still had to sit and wait about another 10 minutes which may not seem like a lot, but I was on my way to work and still had to drive another 15 minutes to get there. But, ok, I got my order and rushed to work. I have the luxury of not having to wait for a lunch break to eat, so I dug in right away. The fried mushrooms were ok; small button mushrooms in a thin batter. The cheeseburger was ok. It's wasn't a smashburger in the true sense of the word; just a small flat patty. And the fries were ok; overly cooked and not crisp or seasoned. But, I thought, well, they just opened so maybe they're just working through those opening issues... I thought I would wait a few months and go back. I was craving a burger and the husby suggested the restaurant. I thought, why not? I'd give it another chance. Things have not improved. What to expect: 1. A long wait. There's a single cook and according to the waitress they have a "very small grill" on which to prepare everything. There were two other parties that had been seated when we came in (a family of six and a party of three). They didn't have their food, so we had to wait until they had all been served. We waited about 30 minutes for our food. Someone that called in their order came and sat for about 10 minutes waiting on their meal. There's a single waitress, and she kept disappearing while people waited on drinks, service at the ice cream counter, etc. 2. Still not a smash burger. The patty was just small and thin without the crisp edges and flavor you expect. The bun was either stale to begin with or had been in the warmer for too long because it was hard. At least the toppings seemed fresh. Husby opted for the special of the day, the patty melt, but he said there was nothing to it; again a small patty with some grilled onions and maybe pickles? 3. Fries and onion rings were very brown. Either they were overly done or the oil really needs to be changed. 4. Not much in terms of decor or ambience. I really would like to support this small business, but at the moment I don't know that I will come back for a third try. read more

wonderful food here! The staff is nice also. small menu, but that is wise for a small establishment. Excellent cheat day restaurant :-)

Fries were not done and burger was not cooked long enough. Too raw in the middle for me. I will give it another try maybe and see if it was just an off day. I was disappointed and it took a little. I saw three different couples walk out, they just got tired of waiting. The waitress needed a some help she was by herself. read more

Omg one of the best burgers I have had. I ordered the combo double cheeseburgers with their freshly cut fries yummmmy. The meat is seasoned tender not too juicy but juicy. I am actually craving another and will be back soon. Service was good you walk up the counter and order the food and pick where you like to sit and they will bring it out to you. This is the best restaurant hamburger I think I have ever had. Better than home made. The lady who takes the orders and serves the customers is always pleasant and unruffled. The gentleman who cooks gets it right every time. We live in Halifax Plantation and every time we go into Ormond Beach proper, we get a burger. Just can't pass them up. We haven't had an occasion to eat inside, so can't comment on that. Treat yourself. The veggies are fresh and crisp and the buns are potatoe rolls. Much sturdier than regular hamburger buns. What a treat! read more

Friendly wait-staff, very good burgers, very clean and neat dining area. I would certainly eat here again.

The place could be better only reasons it was with the two stars because I was with my grand mother and we waited 28 minutes for two burger and fries only one refill per customer only 5 sides and aptizers used to be a house the burger was plainer than a airport fries were soggy would not recommend. Had a sign on the wall saying perfect cleanliness on a sign that's hanged up on a wall from health Spector read more

Great new little Hamburger joint, which opened just two months ago. Hand cut fries and Angus Burgers on the menu. We just cooked out burgers last night, so we all went for the Philly Cheese Steak. Boy, were we impressed. The bun was just right, and the meat was tender and tasty. The mushrooms were a nice compliment as well. We passed on the fries and instead went with the onion rings. They were delicious. Not on my diet, but still delicious. The decor is old, 1950s type burger joint. They had an old jukebox, which came out of a restaurant in Daytona years ago. The songs are free. All you have to do is just punch in the numbers, and you are transported back to a bygone Era. The owner is the cook, and you can tell he takes pride in his work. Give this new establishment a try if you are in the Ormond Beach area. read more

Great homemade burgers! And why do I need to write 85 characters? This is calculated to keep reviews down.stupid.

The worst ever. I ordered a burger and a hotdog. After 25 minutes they have not even started to cook it yet. The head waitress started giving me grief about me waiting. I said don't you think 25 minutes is too long. That set her off even more. Even though I paid, I just walked out. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone. read more

I've been driving past 'Steer In Burgers' for quite a while now, and finally decided I would give it a try. It was about 3:00 on a Tuesday afternoon, and I was the only customer. I mentioned to the server (Katy) that this was my first time, and she told me a little bit about the place (fresh beef, hand-formed 1/4 lb patties, owner 'Dave' is also the cook). I ordered the double cheeseburger ('smashburger') with a side of onion rings and a drink. While I waited I chatted with Katy and another employee, Andie. My food was served less than 10 minutes later, and it was fresh and hot off the grill. I had to wait about 3 minutes for the huge pile of onion rings to cool down, so I went to work on the burger - it was also huge! It sure seemed like more than the 1/2 lb of meat I was expecting, and I was quite full and satisfied when I was finished. The meat also had a lot more flavor than what I'm used to getting at McD's or BK. The owner/cook Dave came out to see if my order was OK, and I told him that I enjoyed it very much and that I will be back! read more

Was greeted by the cook and front end manager and both were polite. The cheeseburger combo I got came out in just 5 minutes and was one of thee best burgers I've had in a long time. Friendly and professional service. Food was fresh and tasty. Restaurant was clean and prices decent. I will be visiting them again.

Tried to go there, arrived at 7:25 pm but they said take out only. So we left and went down the street.

Great spot for a good burger. Old school feel. Good service, Good menu with lots of options

I cannot believe that this place is still in business. They charge like $15 for a hamburger that you can get at McDonald's. The hot dogs I think are Nathan's that they just pull out of the packet grill up a little and then try to do $12 for it. Everything sucks everything is salty everything is mushy. That's why you never see cars in the parking lot. Go to babe's blue room and get a real Burger read more
