We were lured in by the sign that said "4 lbs of oranges for $1." After looking at it more closely, my husband decided not to get it. I did end up buying a bunch of items and ordered a fruit bowl from the stand inside. There was a bit of miscommunication about how to order. The person in the booth told me to order with the cashier. When I got to the cashier, she asked if I had already placed the order. I explained that the person at the booth directed me to her so I could order and pay. Meanwhile, another customer received their item and paid at the front, so it was a little confusing. I rushed through the store so I could get the fruit bowl started. I ordered the small #3 fruit bowl, but unfortunately most of the fruit in my bowl wasn't very sweet. On the positive side, the produce section was well stocked and prices seemed competitive. I forgot I had written a review before. Today I came in and the cashier was sooo rude and so are the other women who work here. This unfortunately will be my last time. If someone is rude to their customers why would they expect people to return. Change your attitudes so people can feel valued and happy when they come here. And the guacamole container was already broken so when it fell it made no difference not did it make a mess. Also she bagged my items and I had two bags on me. I left with the plastic bag and she called me out on it. At least empty my items. Just very disgusting behavior. read more

I have been coming here for years. I was making a purchase no sign of any limit and the cashier said there is a limit on the quantity. I told her there is no sign she said well that's the limit. Makes me wonder in the price they make their own rules and the posted price doesn't matter. I will have to find a more honest place to shop. Double check what you pay for read more

I trust and love this spot. These people are really nice, we have been coming since 2019 even when we lived in Bonita we came here. Prices are affordable, produce has variety and this is the best spot to come and get different types of fruit that aren't mass produced like the big name grocery stores. I gotta tell you, when I went to this place the next day after visiting Albertsons I was so happy because my mom wanted persimmons and apples- the ones at the other store were tiny, green and oddly shaped. I get what I need, the prices are posted and very reasonable and if it's not posted all you have to do is ask. I get quality produce, great prices and they have what I need when I need it!!! I got a few veggies for juicing (some small green apples that are perfect for my juicer, cucumbers and celery). I got some great size jalapeños that I'm going to wrap and bacon but first put cream cheese inside keeping it keto with that one!! And bananas were very reasonable and a small head of cabbage I got plans for that later ;) all of today's goodies was $10.10. As compared to any other grocery store, I'm sure this was the better deal and I shopped local!!! The only downside is they are limited in the refrigerated section, there's no cream cheese and other stuff one might need, but it's stocked with various beverages, milk, local salsa, Mexican cheeses and a few other random things like butter and eggs. read more

We've been stopping here for over 30 years when we visit my brother-in-law in Jamul. There are always good buys -- corn, cherries, oranges, and kale this visit. Quality is not premium but more than acceptable. Small parking lot. This is an open air produce stand rather than a store. Cash or credit card. read more

Not exactly as good as it once was. They always have had good produce and many Mexican items here. Several years ago when we made trips to Tecate regularly, we stopped here all the time. The prices and quality were hard to beat. Now, it seems to be hit or miss on the quality of the fruit- mainly. You can normally check veggies visually and have good luck. Fruit can be a different story. It may look fine outside, but be rotting inside. This has happened to us recently and sorta turned us off a little. We'll still stop in, but more wary of what we buy. The place is not exactly down the street from me, so, I'm stuck with my purchases. They definitely stay busy with a steady flow of customers, since choices are limited around there in Jamul. The closest supermarket is the Albertson's in Rancho SD a few miles up the road. Prices are still reasonable, but quality questionable. read more

I like this place a lot. I decided to stop by since they had deal signs on the street and I was craving some fruit after my hike at McGinty Mountain. Most of the produce is fresh, which was great!!! I grabbed some peaches, limes and cucumbers along with a few other things. $9 for a good chunk of fruits and veggies. The lady at the register was very sweet. I love this little fruit & produce stand. I stop here to get all my green veggies, apples, Oranges. You name it. I've had a negative experience on thanksgiving. I stopped to pick up some sweet potatoes and I was in the section where it was and right next to them were yams. Sweet potatoes and yams look alike....Almost the same thing right??!!? So I get two pounds of "sweet potatoes" which was the label under what I picked up. I get home and my wife starts to cut open the sweet potatoes and was like umm why is the inside so white. We were both confused. So I take a pic and send it to my mom just to confirm she said um those are yams not sweet potatoes, we potatoes have a reddish tint to them. That totally makes sense. So the next day I go back and noticed that the labels were missed label. Long story short make sure you know what your buying. Half of it is my negligence for not paying attention but still we shop for the ease as a consumer. The plus side of this place the veggies I've picked were always fresh. Not every fruit and veggie is going to be perfect so make sure you do some careful picking. That's a tip. I love this stand better then going to a grocery store and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. I'm definitely a regular here.. Yeeaa I said it, enjoy yelpers!!! read more

You can get a whole basket of produce for around $30. besides fresh produce, they have a cooler section with different juices and dairy items. What I really love from the cooler section is their SALSA! Sooo yummy. They don't have EVERY type of produce available (I bought a bunch of stuff yesterday, but they didn't have Beets or Fresh Mint) but it is waaayyyy cheaper than the bigger chain markets. read more

Sometimes they will have a local organic collection that will come for remarkably cheap, and big and healthy... but sometimes a little strange shaped because it's supposed to be like that!
