Went there last week looking for some fresh mint. They had mint but it was in a sad state. I went back today looking for some meat products and noticed a gentleman purchasing some freshly made carnitas. I decided to purchase a pound if the product for myself and I was not disappointed. That meat was tender and flavorful. Combined with some fresh corn tortillas you cannot go wrong. If you live in east county and want authentic carnitas then Diegos is the place to go.

Not only do they have Mexican candy and other goodies but they have a stand where they sell aguas frescas and other Mexican antojitos.

As seniors it is a huge help to receive a $50 card to buy produce ONLY at certified Farmers' Markets and arrive the day before Thanksgiving and be told they don't accept the card or they aren't signed up to receive it. Card expires Nov 30 so we will lose our $50. Couldn't even buy eggs. Farmers complain people are unsupportive yet how can we support them if they are greedy and cheat the Government programs? I will make sure to never set foot in a farmers' market again. I will full heartedly support overseas farmers from now on. Let's see who buys your overpriced produce. If they don't comply with the program they should NOT be allowed to sell there. Shame on you all. I find this to be un American. So much for making America great again and buying local and home grown! Also there are only 3 stands of produce and the rest are retail trinkets, NOT a real Farmers' Market.

What nice way to enjoy the middle of a busy week, with a casual walk and shop, bit to eat, a little music, my kind of "Date Nite" to finish out the week. Until then, this is the best thing to happen to the San Diego Vegan scene since...ever! and (2) the lines are too looooong. I get there when it opens and there are zero lines. If you can get over the fact that parking is a nightmare (tip: get there early and use the free parking lot at the DMV) you'll love every second of your time here. We got there around 9:30am and were lucky enough to snag a spot at the aforementioned lot - about a 5 minute walk from the start of the market. From there, we took about 2 hours to fully explore, including a quick stop at a cute and affordably-priced vintage stop right off the vendors' booths. There is a huge variety of goods, mostly consumables with a few jewelry and handmade goods worked in. The vast majority of consumables booths had samples. I tried balsamic vinegars, loads of dips, some fresh fruit and tomatoes, bread, tempeh, you name it. I wasn't even hungry for lunch after going! If you aren't keen on samples, there are lots of prepared food booths for a full meal. Prices are reasonable. I bought a delicious Mediterranean 3 layer dip for $6 and my brother got a massive focaccia loaf for $10. The vendors were very friendly and helpful. Many (most?) also had business cards with shipping info if you're like me and have a full suitcase already. I would consider this market a must-visit if you find yourself in San Diego on a Sunday. Loved it!

The farmers market stands are set up in one row across the walkway of the front of the park. It's a relatively small farmers market, and you can walk through the whole thing within 5 minutes. Even though it's small, there are plenty of good options. Food stands can include filipino, arepas, thai, argentinian, gyros, quesibirria, sushi, sourdough, desserts, and more! There are also some specialty food stands like probiotic drinks, beef jerkey, and dried fruit candy. And of course there are a couple of fresh veggie stands. On my last visit I got an iced americano from the coffee cart, and a chicken sisig plate from the filipino food stand. I enjoyed my brunch in the shade. Highly recommend for a morning stroll, snack break and perhaps some picnicking with friends, sounds like a chill Saturday.
