I wasn't going to review this company, but we have now had another thing come up that negatively impacts the quality of work done. We paid $730 for a home inspection as well as septic and well. The inspector showed up early and was let in by our realtor so by the time we got to the house they were finishing up. There were minor fixes found and included in the report. His assistant commented on outlets and windows that didn't work. Well the window was taped shut and that's why it didn't open, a balloon string was clearly caught in the bedroom fan and that's why it didn't work, the top plugs in the living room were connected to a switch for easy on/off for lamps and that's why they didn't work. We had to figure out a lot of things ourselves. We were told the septic looked fine and to have it pumped. We were not here when he "inspected" it, but there was a spot where you could see someone had removed dirt and put it back. We called to have the septic pumped after we closed on the house. We found out it's cheaper if we dig the hole ourselves. Well, Steve's hole led to the middle of the septic take and we found out we had a dual tank with two manholes. The guy who pumped the tank said the covers had not been removed in quite some time. That's just wonderful right? There are so many other things that have come up that should have been apart of our report and weren't and so many things that this house should have failed inspection for and didn't. We now want to have our chimeny that has a wood insert swept. We found out that it is not lined and is in code violation. I understand home inspectors are not certified chimney inspectors, but they should know what needs to be up to code. Steve looked in our chimney and said it's fine and just needs a cleaning. Never said it wasn't lined. Now I wonder if he lied about checking the chimney like he did the septic. This inspection was a waste of money. We could have done Steve's inspection ourselves for free. The poorest quality and horrible communication. I still don't know what he meant by our firewall needs repair. Just awful.

This inspector is a fraud. He knows nothing regarding electrical work. He claimed a 12 gauge wire…read morewas on a 30 amp circuit breaker, when it was a 12 gauge wire on a 20 amp tandem breaker. If what this inspector claimed was true, this would never have passed the electrical inspection. This has been confirmed by a journeyman electrician. He also made false claims that led to a demand for an entirely new roof, when the ETHICAL roofer that inspected my roof 8 months ago told me I had 15 years of life left in my roof. Think about, I am having a leak repaired and ask the roofer is there a problem with my roof? Does it need to be replaced? And he explains how only the part leaking needs to be fixed. The roofer had a perfect opportunity to tell me to replace the roof, and make more money. Instead his integrity led him to tell me that I had 15 years left in the roof. In addition we were here when he showed up to inspect the roof. He never got up on the roof to make his inspection. I get why he does this, so that he can cause a home sale contract to be voided. In the hopes to be used again for another inspection on the same property to earn another fee. Another poster also indicated that this inspector has broken the law in his state. I have no doubt this is true. As a realtor I would NEVER use this inspector. He will negatively impact your business with his incompetence and dishonesty.

If you are purchasing a Gemcraft Home, you are probably going to deal with these guys. My advice…read moreis hire a home inspector both at settlement and prior to your one year inspection. I have mine coming to inspect my home at the nine month mark to find what I have missed. All Shore performs sub par work at best. They were present for my Energy Star test (which I was told it failed) and did not properly secure the cover to one of my two HVAC units. It was December, and very cold out, and I could not get my main HVAC unit running. I called their 24 hour emergency number and was talked down to by one of their employees who felt it necessary to accuse me of tampering with their system. Four hours later a technician arrived at my home to show me that they did not put the cover back on the system correctly and would not start due to a safety mechanism. The springtime arrives and I find that one of my HVAC units is working much harder than the other. I shut one system down and find that the larger outside unit was installed together with the smaller unit inside. I again call All Shore and am talked down to by the employee who schedules repairs. The technician arrives a few days later to find they installed the units improperly. If you are looking to use these guys as your AC/Heating contractor, walk away and find someone else. If you purchase a Gemcraft Home, prepare to pay for a home inspection. It is worth the money in the long run.
