You see, my mom, hate to say it, can be quite snappy and aggressive and has tested other's patience in plenty a business transaction. Tim, however, never raised his voice, never got annoyed, and throughout the conversation calmly and thoroughly explained each item in the report and addressed each and every concern that she had, which unfortunately as I've seen is not a trait everyone has. Will note of course that Tim did an excellent job at the home inspection being very detail oriented throughout. He also took the time to explain everything to me during the inspection. It made me feel better to have someone as knowledgeable and pleasant as Tim to do my inspection and to help put me at ease. We requested the photos/video on numerous occasions so we could make an informed decision on purchasing the home. The emails were first ignored, then we were told that he was out of town and would send us the files the following Monday. The business owner sent his son out the following Monday to take drone footage and tried to pass it off as having been taken the week before which was clearly not the case based on date/time stamps and content of footage. To make it worse, our home inspection report was incomplete and riddled with numerous glaring errors related to insulation, electric and roofing. We were forced to call out both a roofing consultant and an independent electrician to evaluate the systems before moving forward with our purchase. They are not to be trusted.

These were very obvious issues not identified on the report. The first week we were in the house we noticed how tight the shower knobs were. My wife went to turn the shower on and the handle fell offer in her hands. As I inspected further, I noticed that the entire handle area needed to be replaced. This is not Chris's fault. It could have worked fine when he was there. The problem began in fixing this issue. There was of course no shut off valve for the bathroom, so we needed to shut off the main water. This would have been fine except the main shut off in the house did NOT WORK. It not only did not shut off the water to the house, but the valve was so corroded that the valve itself leaked. We called a plumber to fix the issue. While he was there he noticed several corroded valves in the span of 10 minutes. He was amazed that the plumbing passed inspection. There is an outside valve that was completely busted from a frozen pipe issue. I was very disappointed after finding these issues, and emailed Chris asking why these were not found in the inspection. I was hoping he would notice his error and offer us some of the payment back. After-all, he didn't find what we hired him to find. Instead of responding to my non-aggressive email, I receive a letter from his lawyer several days later. The letter was aggressive and essentially told me that I was a liar, and Chris wasn't responsible for anything. If your inspector is not looking to see if your main shut off works in the house and busted pipes, what in the world is he looking for? AVOID THIS INSPECTOR AT ALL COSTS! HE MISSES A LOT OF ISSUES AND WILL NOT HELP YOU AFTERWARDS.

I wanted to get a full, unbiased assessment of the condition of the house so I could move forward with repairs or modifications in a sensible and knowledgeable way. Mike was very thorough and checked every square inch of the house and explained each issue as he encountered it as well as record it for the report. He never seemed impatient with my questions and really took his time. There were a few areas that were difficult to access and instead of skipping over them, he helped took even more time to gain access. For example, there was a crawl space/attic only accessible by a small hatch that was completely stuck shut, even the inspector when I bought the house a decade ago didn't open it (and I am embarrassed to say I bought the house without it being opened), but Mike helped me gain access so he could check for water, mold, or structural issues. He also checked the roof, only accessible via a ladder. He was on time (actually sitting in his truck 10 minutes before the appointment time) and extremely respectful of covid-19 safety protocol. About four or five days later I got a lengthy report covering every issue, the severity, etc. Getting the inspection will save me thousands on getting wonky quotes or unnecessary work done. It also gave me an idea of what will come up in the buyer's inspection down the road. It was definitely a wise move as a seller and I absolutely would recommend him for buyers. He will leave no stone un turned. AND he's a contractor so he's not just checking boxes -- he has the expertise I needed. Well worth the expense.
