Japanese Ramen-Chashu Pork
Jenn P.

I was visiting from out of town and really wanted soup dumplings and this was the only place in this area that had them. The soup dumplings and pork steamed bao was disappointing. They both lacked a good flavor and tasted like fatty breakfast sausage. The Japanese Ramen was quite tasty and, as someone afraid of ordering ramen, I would order this again. Other ramen I have tried was very hearty and heavy, this was good and perfect for a cold day. The restaurant was clean, service was quick. Overall a decent lunch. I'm not sure I would be back when I visit in the future.

Everything you'll need at tableside.

I want to give credit where credit is due. Steam Panda was open until 9PM and that was my principal reason for picking this Chinese restaurant in search of Vietnamese Pho. I arrived at 8PM and was their only customer til closing. The waitress was very welcoming as were the signs on wall, and pictures showcasing "Chinese comfort food". Their menu is extensive--a surprising variety of regular and unique entrées. But I chose the Pho which featured two different meats and all the traditional noodles, vegetables, garnishes and spices. It really was fresh and hearty--full of flavor! The restaurant was clean, with both chairs and tables, or booths, with a full set-up of sauces and table ware.

Always come here when we're in town! It's a good amount of food- and the staff is so kind and welcoming. We went twice this week while in town and one time my friend left her phone and they let us come by even after closing to grab it- it was so nice of them. So good, I had the Japanese Ramen both times this week. We'll definitely come back when we're in town again!

Food is amazing! Very friendly owners and very clean! My fav soup and dumpling place! My daughter loves their sushi and boba!

Steam panda is ok. I would recomend Japanese Ramen. The soup dumplings are OK, they're too doughy.

Food was not good! Chewy and flavorless. Only part that was good was the Thai ice tea.

If I had to summarize the restaurant in one sentence, I'd say it's a perfectly acceptable steak and sushi house with good service and fair prices, but the quality of the food didn't fully live up to the way it was presented or advertised. First, I want to give credit where it's due. The staff was genuinely friendly throughout the evening. From the moment we walked in, everyone was welcoming, attentive, and professional. Drinks were refilled consistently, food came out at a reasonable pace, and the servers checked in enough to make sure things were going well without becoming intrusive. In today's world, good customer service feels harder and harder to find, so I absolutely appreciated the effort the staff put into making the experience pleasant. The atmosphere was also about what you would expect from a modern steak and sushi restaurant. It had a nice energy to it, clean dining areas, decent lighting, and a casual upscale vibe that worked well for a dinner out. Pricing was another positive. Compared to many steak houses today, the menu prices felt relatively reasonable. Nothing seemed outrageously overpriced, especially considering they also offer sushi and a broader menu than a traditional steakhouse. If you are looking for a place that won't completely destroy your wallet for a night out, this place lands somewhere in the middle ground. Not cheap, but not painfully expensive either. That said, the biggest issue for me was the steak itself. I ordered what was advertised as a filet, and honestly, I left questioning whether it truly was filet mignon. Anyone who regularly eats filet knows it is typically one of the leanest and most tender cuts of beef available. The steak I received was surprisingly fatty, with a texture and appearance that felt much more like a lower-grade sirloin or another less expensive cut. I understand that marbling can vary, and I'm not expecting perfection every single time, but this felt noticeably off from what should reasonably be expected when ordering a filet. To be clear, the steak was not terrible. It was edible, cooked reasonably close to the requested temperature, and had decent flavor overall. But when a restaurant advertises a premium cut of beef, customers naturally expect that cut to match the description. That disconnect between expectation and reality was the biggest disappointment of the night for me. It honestly felt more like a steakhouse serving "good enough" versions of premium items rather than truly delivering premium quality. The sushi was fine, though nothing especially memorable. Fresh enough, decent presentation, and about what you would expect from a restaurant trying to balance both steakhouse and sushi menus under one roof. No major complaints there, but also nothing that would specifically make me return for the sushi alone. At the end of the day, this place falls into the category of "solid but forgettable." If you go in expecting a casual steak and sushi dinner with decent service and fair pricing, you will probably leave satisfied enough. But if you are specifically going for a high-end steak experience or expecting true steakhouse-quality filet mignon, you may end up disappointed like I was. Would I come back? Maybe, but I'd probably try something different on the menu next time instead of ordering the filet again.

The pot stickers are not made in house, as Won Tons usually are, they are a food service product, boiled in chicken stock with other vegetable trimmings added. My soup was scalding hot--had to rest 10 minutes before it was palatable. There was no evidence of salt and pepper in the soup and none on the table. (It's interesting to note that Wok n Roll is a franchise that touts "quick-cooked" fast foods--quick cooking Won Ton Soup is exactly what was wrong with mine!--should be steeped over time.) Other than that, they forgot the diced green onion which is fundamental to Won Ton Soup. Wok n Roll boasts 20+ stores over five countries (principally Caribbean Islands). Their Madison Avenue advertising promotes a big image, but this Wenatchee store is clearly a low budget operation. The furniture is very uncomfortable-- wooden seats on metal frames, and a cost-cutting approach to food preparation and presentation. If they're doing something right, it wasn't evident on this trip. Again, see the pics!

The pork eggs were thrown in the trash after we spit out the bite we took we could tell by the horrible taste they were fried in rancid old oil. We ordered the sesame chicken it came with no seasoning or sesame flavor once so ever it too was cold. Crab Rangoon's were basically wonton with burned edges nothing in them . Lastly, the walnut shrimp was the best out of all of them. Still cold but although the sauce was strange it looked odd so we stopped eating it for fear of sickness. We fear that we might get sick by the little bit we ate before we trashed it.
