Although the guy who came was nice, he did not wear a mask (during COVID) and looked at my carpet and said to actually deep clean it that it would be $649. This made no sense to me when we're replacing the carpet in less than a year. Once it dried there are still many stains. I could have gotten the same quality job from my own personal machine. We ended up doing only 5 rooms and a hall and was still charged $200. I do not like to argue so I just paid it even though 2 less rooms were done. Called around San Diego carpet cleaners and this company and another quoted me about the same price. Chose this one due to my time availability. When the girl answered the phone to book the appointment it sounded like I was calling a friend who accidentally pressed Answer while laughing and eating food. She was still cracking up at a joke before she could finally answer. I asked multiple times if they would charge more than the quoted cost and she assured me no. When the guy came to check it out they said because of one stain in a room they would have to charge more to use actual chemicals to clean it and there was no way just soap and water could clean it. It seems they don't use chemicals for their low quote price- which would have been nice to know over the phone. They made me feel that the basic cleaning- can't remember 65-70$ would definitely not get rid of the stain so they upcharged me to 100. They found they could not get rid of the stain at all and did not apologize for upcharging me and did not offer to refund even after assuring me that the chemicals would remove it. Felt kind of scammed. They should have tried to remove the stain first with chemical and used their "just soap and water" for the rest of the apartment. Booked a carpet cleaning service online, which was listed as $25 service (website stated each so I'm assuming per room). The website says nothing about a minimum, or that they cannot service high rises. On the day of my service, during the service window time, I was called to say they couldn't service my apartment, even though I live on the first floor and the van could've parked outside my balcony. I was also told it was an $81 minimum. So unprofessional to not call in advance to confirm that I did not live in an apartment and that the website doesn't state anywhere that there is a minimum. Company gets 1 star because my carpets were actually cleaned, otherwise I would drop my stars to 0 for customer service, false quote, intimidation by technician, and gross practices performed in my home. I explained in detailed over the phone that we had an accident with olive oil and have a few spots we needed treated due to the oil. Was quoted $59 for 2 rooms and $1 per square foot for area rug 6x4 area rug. When technician arrived he exaggerated the condition of our carpet (shoes are never worn in our home) and stated the ONLY way to clean the carpet was to "pre-treat" with chemicals first. I already explained the few drops of olive oil and was quoted $59 for 2 rooms. Chemicals or no chemicals, I could care less, just get the job done right at the price quoted based off of accurate information provided. The new price quoted was now $165. I respectfully declined services and the technician became irate and argumentative. I was firm and reasonable with my explanation as to why I did not want his services anymore. He then dropped the price to $140. I did not budge so he dropped the price to $120. I was still unhappy with his quote since I already explained everything in very clear detail over the phone when scheduling the appointment. He was super agitated and rude and was making me extremely uncomfortable. He was a very large man and somehow made this strong, independent woman very unsure about the entire situation. I caved and agreed to $120 in hopes to calm him down and get him the f*** out of my house. Technician begins work but was on his phone the entire time yelling at other technicians, approving quotes from other technicians, etc.. I overheard him tell another technician "we don't give quotes less than $100." Very different from their website and office team scheduling work by phone. I then find he disappeared several times and noticed he was using our guest bathroom without permission. I would have allowed him to use the restroom but I expect a stranger in my home to ask first. Then I noticed he was taking a bucket of black dirty water dumping it in my toilet and bathtub. He actually took his nasty dirty bucket and started cleaning it in my freshly scrubbed bathtub. Not once ever did he ask to use my bathroom for any services or for his own personal use. Lastly, when I went to pay by credit I was treated very poorly. He made it a big deal that I couldn't pay by cash when I was told over the phone credit was fine. He left without looking me in the eye or saying goodbye. Mind you I was respectful and polite to this man the entire time he was in my home. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone seeking services. They operate under false advertising, BS pricing, very poor customer service and bully/intimidate you into moving forward with their services. I call the 888 number to make sure they are really coming and the lady gives me a 2-3 hour window. No problem. I look at my email again and it was confirmed by Green Choice Cleaners. Who is that? I look for reviews on Fresh-Carpet-care and Green Choice and they are either bad or non existent. No way. Reg flag for me. I'm calling and most likely cancelling this too good to be true deal until.... Thankfully I got a call directly from the person coming to clean my carpet. I asked if he is Green Choice or Fresh Carpet and he is neither...He's Steam'N Clean. Fresh Carpet contracts with S' N C. So all that long story to say that if you judge the semi-crappy customer service rep answering for Fresh Carpet or the reviews for Green Choice then you will miss out on getting the great service from Steam ' Clean. I don't know why they confuse you in the beginning on who is who and from where but Cory called me ahead of time. Showed up timely. Was very kind and professional. I had a work emergency and embarrassingly let him know I needed this done fast. He was quick..maybe 45mins or so. He did a great job. I am happy with is work. The couched look clean.The arms are still a little soiled at the seams but I think that is normal for the age of my sofas (about 9yr old, micro fiber). My only advice for Cory and customers is be conscious of the surrounding areas. I thought I moved side tables, papers, and crap from around the couch so he could do his job without kid toys or tax papers spread everywhere but I missed one important thing...my blue-ray player on the floor behind the side of the couch. This is my fault. Cory uses his handy dandy tools to spray the couch and it is impossible for it to not spray the floor and close proprieties. I'm realistic, I don't blame Cory. I should have moved the player because I discovered it soaked. It probably still works, I haven't checked. It took us almost 2 days to clean the house and bring it back to normal and the last thing we had left was to get the carpets cleaned. After checking around with few of the big companies we thought why not to try a local San Diego carpet cleaning company and give it a chance so we called Steam N clean and in 3 hours we already had a crew working and getting everything back together nice and clean, since they did a great job we also had them clean out kitchen tile floors and another sofa that we were about to throw and to be honest we are very impressed and happy with the results and how everything came out almost like new. He brought heavy duty metal equipment rather than a mobile unit that was able to work in our 2nd floor apartment. I booked a 3 room carpet clean for $69 on Sunday morning between 10 AM and 12 PM. I call at 9:45 AM to confirm that the company was still arriving as planned. They confirmed. I also asked if I needed to pay check, cash or credit card. Cash or credit card was confirmed. I get a call 20 minutes later telling me that they will arrive around 12:30 PM. Okay, fine. Not what was originally planned but it's not a big deal. The carpet cleaning guy shows up at 12:30 and the first thing I hear is him complaining about how he has to work on Sunday instead of drinking beer and watching football. (1. Like I care. 2. Great service, brah - customers really LOVE hearing that.) He then tells me that he's going to give me a "quote" after he looks at my apartment. I thought it was $69 flat rate for 3 rooms????? We get into my apartment and the guy tells me that we will be charged $130 based on the size of the apartment - something they consider 5 rooms. (I'm pretty sure I've lived in a 3 room apartment for 3+ years but OK.) Oh and on top of that, he has to treat the carpet so it's going to cost $225 total plus tip (which he was really not shy about insisting now - that's classy). WTF. When I called to file a complaint, a lady by the name of Rachael answered the phone. She said that she would have the cleaner call my if not the manager would. 2 days later still no calls from anyone I called again, this time she wasn't even willing to help me. In fact her and her colleague kept hanging up the phone on me and sending me to voice mail. I had a great experience with Steam N Clean, specifically with Taylor. I had contacted Global Carpet who arranged for SNC to come out. They only needed a couple of days' notice and worked with my schedule. The day of the cleaning, I was called by Taylor to see if he could come earlier. He was able to work with me to compromise on the time, which worked out perfectly for me. More importantly, he showed on time, gave me a fair estimate (acknowledging that my carpets weren't that dirty so he didn't try to talk me into anything unnecessary), cleaned my carpets quickly and thoroughly, and was polite throughout. He offered me booties to use while the carpet dried and advised me on the best ways to let it dry. Based on prior reviews I decided to give them an opportunity to earn my business (I manage rental properties). Called, they were responsive, received a quote, scheduled an appointment quickly, they arrived timely, all was well. When they arrived and walked through, they quoted a much higher price (by almost $100), I let them know the price quoted on the phone, they gave me a reason for the difference (some pet odor, not urine, just dirty pet odor required a special additive to remove the odor, and the rental unit was 3 stories, so extra work to get to the 2nd and 3rd story), and in the end we arrived at a price in the middle. All was well. I left the property and received a call about 45 minutes later that they were finished. I walked through, noticed some previously dirty spots seemed a little dark still, but assumed it was due to the carpet being wet, paid them and was happy (except for the black marks on the corners of the walls throughout the unit from the hoses being drug up stairs and around corners). A couple of days later after the carpets dried, the dark areas were still there and the obvious pet odor was back, completely. I called to let them know, they offered to return but we did not find a time that worked for both of us. Called them up approximately a month later, let them know the room that really needed attention had not been occupied or used and that I still wanted them to take a look, and they offered to think about it but did not return my call. I called back but did not hear from them. I brought over my own steam cleaner (an average Bissell Carpet Cleaning Machine) and re-cleaned the room myself. The water was very dark brown and the areas where the dog had laid and left the carpet dirty appear to be comletely clean (this is 3 months later, however the room had remained unused by the tenant due to the smell). Now, even the smell is gone after using pet odor carpet cleaner from Walmart. Needless to say, I will not be using this company for my rental properties. read more
