Long post alert! This is a note for folks of all ages,…read moreshapes, and fitness levels: So. I was the person who talked to countless gyms after my own gym closed without notice (Burst! Fitness). Prior to Burst! I was kind of a gym drifter. EOS, LA Fit, Planet Fit, Crunch Fit. I tried them all on for size. Didn't like them (nothing wrong with them, just didn't quite meet my needs). The search continued. I started deep-diving on the internet. There had to be an existing place out there that fit my needs right?? Over several months and consultations with private gyms in Tempe, Phoenix, and Scottsdale- Underground Fitness showed up on my radar. Leading up to my initial meeting with them, I was pretty deflated. Perfection is subjective- and I'd been looking for my version of a perfect fit for months and hadn't even come close. If I was going to join a gym at this point, I needed some convincing. But not in the typical gym-salesman pitch way. I needed to be bought-in. I needed to see the passion. The knowledge, the dedication, the practicing-what-you-preach. The ability to teach. I don't know maybe I'm a tough sell with unrealistic expectations *shrugs* My meeting went well. Ron was patient. I asked so many questions I made my own self tired. He didn't get tired. All of my reservations were addressed. I was satisfied. By the end of the meeting I could tell, this guy could seriously talk about this stuff all day. Passion: check. The program I selected felt like it would work with my schedule, the price was comfortable, and so far the customer service was on point. Ok...ok...willing to give these guys a chance. What's 9 weeks, am I right? That was in September 2019. It is now February 2020, 5 months later- I'm fully bought in. It did take some time to realize that this was the place for me, so I encourage readers of this review to keep that in mind. From my very beginning the team at Underground Fitness was communicative, invested in my success, flexible, creative, and believed in me more than I did. For those who I've worked with: Ron never blinked an eye when I needed to talk to him about absolutely anything at all (literally anything). Camille comes to my aide with worksheets, resources and meal ideas as I struggle with meeting my macros. She checks in on my off days, finger always on the pulse. She gently pushes me when I'm being a huge baby. She throws fun creative workouts our way, during which I can be observed smiling from ear to ear. They are so fun! The hour is over before I even know it! Daniel challenges every inch of air available in my lungs with creative circuits, helping me learn to use my body as an extension of myself. Teaching me how to stay grounded in my workouts (I can be super ADD). Each of them keeping a critical eye on form and technique. They are patient when I am low energy and have a sad workout. They are excited for me when I make progress. Even though these team members have spent years learning the fitness do's and don'ts for themselves, I never feel anything but encouraged when demonstrating my own lack of knowledge in nutrition and physiology. I can't tell you how many times I got talked off of the cliffs I put myself on. Active listening here folks! Guys, I didn't know what a fitness partnership looked or felt like until I met the U-fit team. You just have to let them be part of your journey, you won't regret it! The End

The programming is amazing: every workout is purposeful, challenging, and different from the last, so you never get bored. As a coach who has worked at several gyms both locally and in other states, I can confidently say this is the most thoughtful and effective programming I've ever experienced. Jesse even goes the extra mile to prescribe suggested weights for each movement, which makes it easy to track progress and push yourself safely. After two years of consistently training here, I've gotten significantly stronger and seen major improvements in my performance. On top of that, the space itself has such a cool, unique, and motivating aesthetic that makes you actually look forward to every workout. And he plays the best music! I'm also now wearing a size 2 jean--which I've never been in before. His program is a no nonsense, no fad or silly workout routine. It's a comprehensive program for anyone who is serious about weight loss and getting in shape. It's super simple. Seth is amazing to work with. He is very confident and knowledgeable. He can work through any issues with injury, diet, etc. He guides you through the workouts and encourages you along the way. The accountability alone made a huge difference and kept me consistent even when motivation dipped. And if anyone has an excuse, it's me--I have three kids, one with special needs, a job, and real life happening nonstop--yet this program was still realistic and doable. Beyond the physical changes, my confidence is at an all-time high and I finally feel strong, capable, and proud of my body. If you're on the fence, don't be--this program works, and I'd recommend Seth without hesitation.

I've been trained by Tyler Harding the entire time, and he has dramatically changed the way I carry myself inside of a gym. I started as a relative beginner who had spent little time inside a gym, and he built a program that ensured I became a pro at the fundamentals before building on top of that to increase what I could do- which was more and more over time. What you should expect on top of your new fitness routine though, is a handful of other lasting effects, including a developed mental toughness, a desire to work harder than you've probably ever had, self-accountability, and discipline. I don't think I would have ever been able to develop a desire and excitement for lifting if it hadn't been for starting at Die Trying. It's been an absolute pleasure.

My husband over the course of 4-5 months has lost 25 lbs through Steve's guidance in intermittent fasting and the exercise work out regime he would receive three times a week. He went to Steve three times a week, and each month there was a VERY VISIBLE change to his waistline, his body got toner, his metabolism leveled out, and his posture got better.
