I went in on and everything was in order. The office wasn't posh, but it was clean. I was in-and-out in less than 10 minutes. Here's where it gets amazing. I was planning to take a sofa to my daughter in NC. When I got it loaded in the van, we found out that the sofa had mice ;( so I dumped the sofa at the curb and returned the van expecting to pay for one day per the rental agreement. No worries. When I arrived (two hours early) the agent was apologetic in her news that they did not have a Full Size SUV on the lot. However, she was speaking to her manager as I was walking in as an effort to make the reservation correct before I arrived. Instead of lying to me that a Nissan Pathfinder or Ford Escape was a Full Size SUV this Hertz Location offered to pay for a Lyft to send me to the nearest location with a Full Size SUV. They went above and beyond my expectations for fulfilling my reservation request and even with my early arrival they still were able to make a resolve for the issue. I have rented lots of cars. When this has happened to me before, the agent would lie and say that's the class you reserved or that they're completely sold out. Even if they had another car in the class I rented at a nearby location they never offered for transportation between the offices. This Hertz location went above and beyond. Best of all; they were honest.

Definitely do not recommend! --- Not a great experience at this Enterprise Rent-A-Car office. The checkout process felt rushed, and the customer service agent was brisk with me. He alluded to my "free upgrade" as if I had asked for it (I guess the car was more roomy then the compact car I wanted?), and seemed a little annoyed when explaining the different insurances to me. I'm not often renting cars, so I had a few questions and didn't have a strong preference between the cars available - I just said to please give me a clean and reliable one. Well, the car I was given failed on both accounts. The silver Nissan Altima I was given smelled like an ashtray and was dirty inside. I'm not exaggerating when I say I had to drive with the windows down for the day of the rental to get the smell to a manageable level. I'm a non-smoker and do not appreciate sitting in somebody else's old smoke that was completely soaked into the seats, so my hair and clothes smelled of cigarettes when I got out. For some reason, there was a warning light that I didn't notice at first, but a warning about the front collision detection came up every few miles during my trip. Not only was it annoying, but I wasn't sure if I can feel safe in the vehicle. I didn't interact with the staff when I returned the car because I had to leave early for the airport and used their convenient key drop. Wish I had a better experience and probably wouldn't return to this location for a rental.

They helped me work through a tricky rental situation-- two moves in one week to and from New York during the busiest moving week of the year-- in a way that saved me money and made the whole experience much more pleasant. I have used other Uhaul locations and other truck rental facilities (Home Depot and Lowes) in the past but will never go anywhere but No Hurts for future truck rentals. The truck itself was brand new (only 700 miles on it), and the rental process was super convenient. We picked up before hours (at 6am) and dropped off after hours (around 10pm) and were able to navigate both processes smoothly using the Uhaul app. Candace walked me through the process and checked in with me during the rental to make sure things were going smoothly. Both Candace and Judy were extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with! This place has my highest recommendation and made a grueling moving process much more pleasant!

Zack was a very friendly representative that met me at the Buick dealership down the road in the rental and brought me to his office. When I was at the office I filled out some paperwork and in no time I was driving off in a Toyota Prius to work. It was the first time I have ever driven a key-less car so Zack gave me an informative tutorial about how to just press a few buttons to get it started. It looked as if the car had never been driven because it was so clean! Thankfully there was a sticker on the inside of the car that said it was a smoke-free vehicle. I was glad to see that because I am a non-smoker and would have been disappointed if it stunk of cigarettes. I recomend using this Hertz if you need a rental car in the area. I hope that my car continues to run smoothly but if I run into anymore issues I will be back!

I had a terrible experience with the Philadelphia PayLess car rental at the Philadelphia Airport…read more My car battery went dead the next day and I had to have it jumped. Evidentially it was because when I rented the car at the end of the day the lights were not on. When it got dark on my drive to Delaware I turned on the lights and did not turn them off. (that was my fault) However, the next day I had to have the car jumped two times. The second time it was when the car was idling at a busy traffic light. Thankfully someone stopped and jumped the car. I took it to a Ocean Tire and Battery near Lewes, De, and they charged it overnight and told me it was at 94% and should be good the rest of the week. I called Payless A FEW times and they told me to get a new battery and they would pay for it. It worked the next 4 days, but when I stopped at lights it would hesitate. My last day in Delaware it would not start at all. I called AAA - it took three hours for AAA to arrive. AAA tested the battery and said the idle test showed it was too dangerous to drive AT 84% He was ready to replace it - but when I called Payless, they told me they would not pay for it unless I put the dead battery in the trunk, and would only reimburse me the $300 if their own test showed it was insufficient. AAA suggested I leave the battery in place and purchase a portable NOCO battery charger for $100. That way, it the battery died on my drive back to Phila airport at 6 am, I could charge it. He also showed me how to turn of the STOP/START button. I sent Payless manager MICHAEL the insufficient test the next day and he claims AAA was just trying to make a sale and the battery was fine. He was also rude to me. I WILL NEVER RENT A CAR WITH PAYLESS AGAIN. It was the STOP/START button that was draining the battery. All l asked was to get reimbursed for the NOCO charger.

The employee was pleasant, he advised me they open at 7 AM. What he didn't mention was they open at 8 AM on Sundays which was the day I was dropping my car off. I arrived just before 7 AM and waited but when they did not open I contacted the number on my receipt and was advised they open at 8 o'clock on Sundays. There was a sign on the gate for after hour drop off, I wish I was advised of this previously as time was of the essence to catch my flight. Luckily the after hours drop off was only a few miles away, and the shuttle was right there. The car was as expected , and the price was good.
