This is the worst experience we have ever had at a steak n Shake. first we had a party of 6 got seated ok but it was a hectic when we walked in. Most were leaving though so we got seated. Waitress took our order so far not bad. Once other groups came in is when we received some issues. I was the last to get my food and all i order was a bowl of chili. I got no spoon or crackers. We got no refils and my daughter never got honey mustard. We found ourselves having to go get everything including refils and go boxes from either other waitresses or go straight to the bar as she attended to other tables. Lauren Finally came back to the table when it was check time and was surprised there was a problem. she saw no where she was at fault for never coming back to the table. What's funny is that it used to be a decent Steak n Shake. It has to have been a change in management, because the service changed overnight. The waiters and waitresses have no motivation to do their job. And it is not always because they are understaffed, either. Been meaning to write this for a while. I have been in there a few occasions and just walked out because I could CLEARLY see the cook with no gloves on, manning the grill. This was over a year ago so it might have changed. I don't want to go back to see. Before I saw this and actually ate here, I always got cold burgers. Like most reviews, good food and bad service. Got a seat right away then came the waiting game. 50m later we ate and asked for the menu to order shakes since the name of the place is Steak and Shake. Ordered the shakes and waited and waited, I wanted to leave but the family was determined to get a shake. After tracking down the waiter, he said the shake guy was new and behind. If I could give this Steak 'n Shake NO stars I would! This is without a doubt the worst service I've ever had at any restaurant. At first our food came out in a decent amount of time but once the food came out our waitress never came back to our table again EVEN THOUGH WE DIDN'T EVEN GET WHAT WE ORDERED and we never got a single drink refill even though they made us wait well over 45 minutes AFTER we'd finished eating to even give us our bill which we had to go to the kitchen and ask for ourselves anyway. Something else worth mentioning is that it was not even busy at all! There were a GRAND TOTAL of 6 tables that had people at them trying to get dinner, and to top it off that Steak 'n Shake had the most employees working that I've ever seen in a Steak 'n Shake about 12 people standing around doing NOTHING! There is absolutely NO REASON that this restaurant should be running this poorly on a quiet Sunday night! Lastly, the table next to us was seated and NEVER spoken to for 30 minutes! NO DRINK ORDERS, NO FOOD ORDERS, NO NOTHING there wasn't a single worker who approached that table after they were seated and then finally after HALF AN HOUR OF WAITING they finally decided to get up and leave without dinner and the minute they left a worker who was supposed to be their waiter cleared their menus from the table IMMEDIATELY making it obvious that he was specifically ignoring them until they left. I should have read the Yelp reviews! It seams thing have not changed over time here. Our food was very good, but the services stunk. It was not crowded, but it took forever to get out food. Then 24 min later, after we were finished with our meal, we got the milkshake that we had ordered first to make sure it came. I will say my nephew love it. The whole time one waitress was scrambling trying to cover most of the tables while the others stood around and talked to each other and tryed to look busy. The manager was at the counter, but never seemed to notice. The fact that it is the only Steak N Shake around helps it out. I am afraid that as long as it stays busy management will not see the poor services as a major problem, which is too bad because the food is very good. read more

This review is specifically for the drive through. The service is friendly, but whoever has been bagging orders on the weekend is not paying attention. Last time they forgot my husband's burger, and put cheese on the wrong burger (my daughter wanted it and I'm lactose intolerant) major bummer. My husband drove back out and they gave him his burger with fresh fries without an argument. Today our order was again not accurate. The order taker asked if I wanted cheese, we said no, the receipt is correct, but I had cheese on my burger when I got home. I come to this location the most and I always have a good experience. I've eaten breakfast (dine in) there while waiting on my car at the Discount Tire across the lot. Also, I frequent the drive thru more so than dine in. The service is always friendly and efficient. The quality of the food is consistent as well. I have always been a fan of Steak N' Shake. I visited this location again this afternoon, but I placed a order via the drive thru. Although I arrived during rush hour traffic and there was a line, the line moved quickly and today's cashier was pleasant as usual. My order was accurate, the food was fresh, very delicious as usual, and super affordable :). The rating is not that high for this location, but I have always received good service and food. read more

Ok, I tried again, this time a breakfast. Very poor quality. Bacon was broken strips, waitress did not care. The menu says "Thick bacon." I paid $9.37 for 1 biscuit/gravy, a scrambled egg, broken, thin bacon, and one cup of coffee, couldn't even find her to beg for a refill. If I could give no stars.. I would !Worst service I have had in many years! Fifteen minutes to be seated; plenty of clean tables. Waited another 30 minutes for food. Two of the five orders were wrong. Had to get my own silverware. Shake spoons were dirty. Waited another twenty minutes for the corrected orders. Gave up and asked for management. Very poor service, the service was so bad that I downloaded the yelp app just to complain. Waited twenty minutes in drive-thru to give my order. The lady made me repeat my order several times, just to have me drive up to the window to get my total. Then at the window tells me my total and charges my card. Come back to the window and ask me was this my meal I replied no and told her what I ordered again. She tells me ok gives me my bag. This place lacks professionalism, can't handle a rush, and never treats their customers that prefer to sit at the bar correctly. I have made complaints, I have spoken to the district manager, and I've done everything I can to describe the issues that continuously crop up but to no avail: this place WON'T CHANGE. I personally believe that this store's management is to blame for their employees' lack of care on the job.
