Was very excited about all the changes we've heard that Steak 'n Shake was making used to love this restaurant growing up and with all of the other franchisees getting worse and worse wanted to give this one another try. Unfortunately, it's still a bad experience the fries that they brag about were horrible. I think they had sat too long and they served them anyway and the burger was not good either. Just not fresh food and horrible service. Unfortunately nothing's changed at this location. I'll have to give another location a chance soon. read more

Surprised they have 1.8 star. Waited in line for 40 minutes and when I got the food it was cold and tasted like it was 3 hrs old or more!

The food is delicious. The tallow fries are much better than the surrounding competition's fries. The burgers are customizable and hardly ever wrong when I them pick the up. The wait is never that long either. However, the kiosk is costing them a lot of business. The elder crowd avoids the store due to having to enter their own food. If there was someone available to help, then they might come more often. The tables are kept somewhat clean by someone coming around to wipe them off periodically, but I wouldn't call this a "restaurant" anymore. read more

Went for shakes. Both were very tasty and fixed to our liking. Sadly they no longer have a long list of choices. Very limited now but still up to par. read more

Had not been to Steak and Shake for a couple years as there's not one close by. Was in the neighborhood today so stopped in. The place was like a morgue. There's no one to greet you, just a sign saying to order at the kiosk. Once you order, you get a receipt and have to go make your drink and get any condiments and napkins. The machine was out of ice, and we had to flag a young lady down the hall to ask for ice. Our food was set in a pass through, and that same young lady called our number and we had to go get it. What happened to this restaurant? They used to have waiters and people to check to see if we needed anything. We had to bus our own table today! The food was nothing like it used to be, it was mediocre and served in a plastic basket. From the lack of employees and service I don't anticipate them being in business for much longer! read more

Drive through is five by five. Calm, courteous, and made my order right. I'll admit to not going into sit. Most of the time I want a shake and some fries at 10 at night. Tonight was no exception. Vanilla shake. I was the fourth car and was on my way in under five minutes. Employee made sure I had my straw spoon and napkins twice. Smiled and made the correct change from a 20. I'll be back again. read more

From the minute, you walk in to the time that you walk out the door, they have treated you to a trip back in time to the 1950s. The atmosphere is so fun and upbeat and their shakes are to die for I have never had a better shake and I've been all over so trust me, you really want to try their shakes. Their hamburgers are just as good. I always get the cheeseburger with everything on it and I eat it like I haven't eaten in weeks. It's that good. This is a regular place for me and the family. It's equally friendly for family as it is for date night. Y'all gotta come! read more

The service is typically the worst, young kids who have the worst attitudes. If you want to leave somewhere pissed off, this is the place for you. They rarely will ever get the order right and when trying to correct the problem you'll be greeted with attitude and more than likely won't even have said problem resolved. The fries, 9 times out of 10 will either be freezing or not cooked thoroughly so you get soggy fries. Can't forget to mention, regardless if there's 3 cars in front of you or 0, it'll take at least 10 minutes of waiting after ordering. DO NOT COME HERE read more

Great place for a late night shake. Came here after a movie and got a birthday cake milkshake. There was a line for the driver through, but it moved quickly and the employee at the window was very kind and even let us know we could fill out a survey for a free milkshake! read more

Ordered 5 items got 3 correct I guess 3 out of 5 okay for this society. The two burgers I ordered one was not supposed to have cheese, it had cheese. The second one was supposed to be a double and it was a single. Somebody may need to re-train their crew how to read orders so that they are done correctly. read more

Never come here they take years to do anything, did a mobile order had to wait 30 mins later to get my 2meals and my milkshakes back from the freezer the made already was still melty. Steak 'n Shake: what gives? Is there a great potato shortage? Does the cost of the French fries come out of the employees' pockets? I ordered 2 large fries...and this is what I got (see photos). C'mon man. This is not acceptable! These photos were taken before we ate. No joke. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the guy at the drive thru was friendly. read more

Every time I order delivery they leave items out of my order and I can never get a refund terrible customer service

I don't know how this place is still open. I've been here several times and it's always dirty, place smells like old mop and grease. The service is always slow. Today I came with my son and he ordered the chicken fingers, I had the Frisco prime steak burger with onion rings. Waitress (named "Q") was extremely slow. I ordered water and a coffee. She brought the water but not the coffee. Another waitress brought the food out. No utensils, no napkins, nothing. I finally got up and asked for napkins and my coffee, took her another 5 minutes to being napkins and coffee. (Needed the napkins to wipe the extra grease off the burger buns). She brought my coffee, didnt ask if I wanted cream so I asked someone else for it, then she brought cream and nothing to stir coffee with, so I had to get up again and go find a spoon. Burger was too greasy to eat, it made me nauseated and that rarely happens to me, I can usually eat anything. About the only thing I can say good about this place is that the kitchen staff is efficient, our food did come out fast. Oh, and the water was good! I won't be back and don't recommend. read more

The dyke in the window needs to be fired because she was trying to get buck with me and my father when we asked for our coke with no ice that she was forgetting to give us... she gon ask us "are we alright" in a fighting tone and that's not how you operate a business especially if YOU were the one forgetting a PAID FOR item. Either find a new job or come into work happier cause no one asked for your bad attitude with their food. Nor did anyone force that pen in your hand when you applied for that job. Get it together. In the past this location seemed "ok" for a quick meal. I did not have any (major) issues and a number of times ate there because it was very close to my house. However, there is little excuse for a live Roach being in my bag with my takeout food! We ate in and got something to go for someone at home - got home and when they opened their bag an unidentified variety of Roach fell out, luckily into the sink, where it was immediately sprayed before it could get loose in the house. I've not even seen this type before (including a photo). Regardless, the food went in the trash. Called and spoke to a manger. She was very polite and started to go down the route of about to offer me something. Needless to say, we want NOTHING else from this location after this, at least not for a long while. I wanted them to know about the problem so they can address it. She seemed at least, to be freaked out, but at the same time I couldn't help but pick up on the vibe that this wasn't the first such complaint. But who knows. Let's be honest - probably every restaurant out there has had a bug slip through no matter what they do. But a very much alive and active roach in the bags where food is placed - nope nope nope... not again. I will say that a while back we got breakfast for a few people at work one morning, and within about 4 hours several of them were let's say, "running to the bathroom a lot" for a while. Not an epidemic but not a good sign. This is why we gave the place a while before going back. Now - this. ugh. Either way, I do want restaurants to succeed, so I hope they address the bug issue with their exterminators, as well as perhaps whoever they get their bags from as it could have come via that route, too. We'll be avoid this location now, though. read more

Fast, friendly service. The food came out quickly and done perfectly. Great burger, fries and the shake was aweome.

This place is the worse excuse for a burger joint. Save your money and eat at home. My husband and I stopped by to get a couple of burgers to go. I ordered the number 15 which is the bacon cheeseburger single with fries. Well what is the one thing you would expect on a bacon cheeseburger ....... that's right, bacon. Nope not one slice of bacon to be found. The cheeseburger is ice cold (the cheese wasn't even melted) but by god they got the pickle in there, three slices of pickle! The burger looked like it had been sitting for a while and was so small it was more bread than anything. The side chili was hot but why wouldn't it be it comes out of a pot that stays hot. GROSS GROSS GROSS GROSS!!! They won't see another dime from me, EVER! Update - this restaurant has either taken on new management or the owner has stepped up. My husband convinced me to give it another try. So we went in and I had a grilled chicken salad and he had a burger. Well color me shocked they got the whole order right and my salad was perfect. Kudos to whoever straightened this restaurant out because I will probably going back now. New star rating 1/2. They still need a little help but they're getting there. read more

This place used to be great but now I'd rather lick my lunch off of a gas station bathroom floor. And today at lunch I feel like I have. The food was horrible the buns were so stale I could've hit somebody with it and knocked them out I said to the cook you really need to get some fresher buns in here because that was a horrible bun and he said that was just a manufacturing process that those buns still had two weeks left to go on them. Total BS! I mean if you're gonna lie come up with a good one. Restaurant was dirty I asked for some cherry flavor in my Coke and they told me that that was for call in orders and drive-through only. So I said if you come in to eat in the restaurant you get penalized? I Was told that I could not have seasoned salt with my fries. The cook was giving a free grunge rock concert to the top of his lungs. I would say that in this day and time that they couldn't find help to have waitresses but my guess is that this particular store ran all of the wait staff off. I never hardly ever complain about lunch dinner or breakfast but this store is a complete disaster a food poisoning incident waiting to happen. When I left I tried to call their corporate office and got a number of 877-785-6745 and when you dial that number it says that there is nobody there that's actually what the Recording says it says there is nobody there. No way to redirect your call nothing I took it upon myself to stand at the door to write this yelp review and to turn away new customers trying to come in to eat. I saved three souls from getting this horrible service in this horrible restaurant if that's what you wanna call it. Now I'm going to leave and go and lick my lunch off of the bathroom gas station floor at the nastiest gas station around and it will have been 100% better than what I had at stake and shake! If there was a rating that was lower than One that's what I would put. Apparently here the manufacturer of the buns gives them about three years before they expire. So we decided to go eat here because we wanted the fries with honey mustard. I was going to go somewhere else but wanted to support them. I ordered our food, and realized when I got to the window and paid with my card I forgot to order 'Honey mustard'. I didn't realize that there was a $0.43 charge for one. Me and my daughter searched for the change which we didn't have and I couldn't use my card for such a small amount. You would think that after spending $24 for our meal she would have just given us the condiments. I'm just a little disappointed with how much time and money you spend that they would be so hard up giving customers condiments after you help support keeping this establishment in business. I may have to start rethinking where I choose to spend my money. read more

I love Steak 'n Shake! This location always gets my order correct and the staff is friendly and professional.

We had to imput our order vis kiosk (no other option) then when we attempted to pay at the kiosk, it couldn't read our gift cards and canceled the order. Fourth attempt paid with debit card. Note: they ask for a tip when paying, yet the service is set up as pick up at the counter???? Why should I tip in this situation? It is just like going to McDonald's except McDonald's offers option of a person taking your order. Sorry, but if I have real service, then I will tip appropriately. Lol. Anyway, the food was great, although I noticed they have thinned out the selections for kiosk ordering. They also don't have condiments at table any longer. If you want seasoning for your fries, you will have to buy it at the front counter if they can figure out how to charge you for it. The manager here was very nice once I got his attention. He gave me a bowl of Chilli after he heard my story at the kiosk. Anyway, the food was good. The place was not crowded. It was dinner time. Times have changed at Steak & Shake. read more

This restaurant uses a kiosk for order it was extremely difficult to use and finally had to get someone to help. The wife didn't get what you ordered and she got stuff she didn't order. You normally expect when you get a hamburger and fries you would get your milkshake with it also. When I asked where the milkshake was I was told it's made at another station. When we had nearly finished eating the milkshake was ready. read more

The food here is always consistently good. The service is decent but be prepared for a wait getting your food. I have never been here and gotten my order quickly. One could argue that its cooked to order but that doesn't explain why the food sits waiting to be served. Bottom line decent meal great price just be prepared to wait no matter the time you are there. They do need to close the store for 48hrs take everything out and clean the floor with boiling hot bleach. The floor is disgusting and it has weird smells. You literally slide around while walking and there is garbage under all the booths. I give it four stars because the food is good and the prices great but cleanliness doesn't seem to be a priority. read more

Today my husband and I decided to go into Steak n Shake and dine in. We don't usually eat fast food but we decided to take our chances today. We were so pleasantly surpised. Upon entering we noticed Joey giving instructions to a couple of patrons on how to work their new kiosk ordering system. Let me mention how courteous and helpful he was to them. We then proceeded to order our food from the kiosk too. We sat near the window and I noticed how clean the dining room was and also continued to notice Joey giving 4 star customer service in a fast food restaurant which is almost unheard of these days. After sitting for about 5 minutes Joey brought our food over to us asking if we needed seasoning for our fries, condiments and extra napkins. The first thing I noticed was the presentation of the burger... it looked as if it was staged for photography. I mean the cheese was draped and the veggies were as crisp and fresh as could be served with hot fries! Also, the milkshake was picture perfect! We were in shock because of our other experiences with fast food places not being anywhere near this good. My only regret is that I didn't take a picture to add to this post...We may have just lucked up on the day when all the people who care about their work were there, but I sure hope they keep it up! read more

Waited one hour in total for my ONE BURGER AND FRIES. saw the cooks on their phone laughing and carrying on with the worker who was taking orders. The Drive-Thru line is wrapped around. I called and asked if they can merely hand me my ONLINE ORDER (which has now been ready for 15 minutes now) at the front door of the establishment. Her response was, "we're short staff that's why the line is long", when I attempted to clarify that I place my order online and it's been ready, she said "we're busy". Ma'am it'll take 15 Seconds MAX to hand me a bag of food that is sitting there, short staff or not this is not a task that requires you to be occupied for even 5 minutes. Im not understanding the "convenience"of Online Ordering if i I have to wait for everyone else's order to be taken and made in drive thru before I receive mine. There was a QR code as well as an alphabetical code they could've used straight off of the Steak n' Shake app. Everyone was incredibly rude and after asking for help from anyone INCLUDING THE MANAGER they chose to just completely ignore me.
