Food is just like any other Steak n Shake, but their service is super slow. They need to chat less and cook more...or cook as much as they chit chat read more

Love the food, but can never eat it due to working until 9, due to drive thru ALWAYS being closed and some nights the doors are locked because they need to close at 9....24 hrs my ass. read more

My family loves Steak 'n Shake. The food is usually good (though it suffers if things get too busy), and with coupons, half price happy hour for drinks and shakes, and $4 meals, it is quite an affordable place to get a generous amount of food. The burgers and melts, fries, and shakes are the way to go. The chicken fingers are okay too, though the portion on those is absurdly small for the adult meal. Stay away from the salads--this isn't the place to go for healthy food! However, This particular Steak n'Shake is getting a low rating from me due to the service. We've complained several times (even to corporate), and it does no good. We've spoken to other Steak 'n Shake regulars who say there's a lady who manages this location and also sometimes the Coliseum Blvd. one, who has purposely decided to ignore everyone who complains repeatedly, because she has decided they're trying to get free food. (Judging from this Yelp page, nobody at this location can afford to ignore any customer feedback.) Diners frequently wait by the door for long periods of time before a waiter or waitress deigns to seat them. They have a similar experience while waiting at the cash register to pay. Because it isn't a specific employee's responsibility to do either of those tasks, they all decide it isn't anyone's problem! Our drinks sit empty as our server hides behind the fountain drink machine talking with other employees or playing around on his or her phone, or is stuck making shakes when there's no dedicated shake maker. Special requests, like sauce on the side, what condiments you want or don't want, or to have a certain burger on sourdough instead of a bun, get ignored. One family member ordered her burger with mayo, and when a random person brought her burger and she opened it and saw there was no mayo, she asked about it and was told condescendingly, "Well, why don't you check the bottom bun?" So, she did--still no mayo. He wandered off to bus an entire table before bringing her a side of mayo, while her burger sat to get cold. (There were no customers waiting to sit at that table, BTW.) The best Steak 'n Shake location in town is the Illinois road one, so it's worth the drive to get much better service and food delivered the way you actually ordered it! read more

Horrible service. While traveling through Fort Wayne we stopped by for shakes and waited through the drive-through for a half hour before receiving our order. We will know to not stop by here the next time. read more

Steak ’n Shake - American Near Me - Ft. Wayne, Indiana

Terribly understaffed. Can't keep up with a half-full dining room, while disgruntled customers wait to be seated. Needs bettering management that can get employees to show up for work. read more

if i could rate this less then one star i would. theyre never open and i want a fucking shake

The restaurant was very understaffed today. The staff there were doing the best they could, but we were missing items ordered, only to be told that it would be taken off at the register. Would not recommend unless you have an hour and half to get a burger read more

Drive thru took so long, we had enough time to play a full game of Yahtzee on my phone. Probably sat there for 20 min at least. Shakes and food were good though. Line of vehicles was out to the road. read more

I used to bring groups of teenagers in here, until a manager insinuated that it was very inconvenient for them to have groups of customers in their restaurant.... That's unfortunate for their servers, because their servers generally walked away with over $30 in tips for our group Culvers at stellhorn has better food, and much nicer staff. read more

My wife and I have been to your place dozens of times as it is one of my favorite places to eat. However, this time, 7 October, 2016, was extremely bad. We went there at about 3:30pm, they were not busy at all. In fact, there was only 13 customers and there was 5 waiters. We were seated very quickly and then....nothing. We sat there for over 10 minutes being completely ignored, nobody even coming over to say hello. During that time though 2 of the wait staff had time to flirt with younger male customers. We then, being entirely disgusted with being ignored got up and left, going across the street to Bob Evans where we got excellent service. We normally are treated well and the food is always very good and I am very unhappy about the fact that this experience will make me think twice about going back. read more

My family ordered very simple meals two grilled cheeses and two burgers and it took a very very long time for our food to get to us and our booth was filthy read more

Traveling from Ohio it said open 24hours get here at 8:30pm it closed! It said: open on the door! Go in no one even looked up just said we are closed! Rude and it smelled dirty as soon as we opened the door! So Applebee's got our service u rate them a 10 read more

i ordered my food at 9:30 on doordash and they cancelled It at 10 because the store was "closed"; they're hours are 10-10:30, also usually very dirty read more

Very unsanitary and no management in site. Avoid this Steak 'n Shake at all costs. I witnessed an employee sneeze into her hands and then proceeded to stick her hands into the ice bin. read more

I would give this zero stars if one wasn't the lowest option... longest wait of my life, the most rude staff ever, & worst customer service of any restaurant. I actually took the time to download yelp just because of how bad this was. read more

I went into the Steak n Shake on 5402 Meijer Dr. in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I entered the restaurant at 10:50 am. I asked to be served breakfast as it does not end until 11 am. They refused to let me order breakfast saying they had closed the grill down. If the breakfast goes until 11 am then I should be able to get breakfast until 11 am. I am not happy with that service. read more

If I could describe this place in two words I would use SLOW FOOD. We ordered 2 shakes and 1 unsweetened tea. We have been waiting patiently for over 20 minutes at this point. I feel as if I am not a priority here and I will not come back again. read more

we had an entire 20 minute conversation before they even acknowledged us at the drive thru, never seen such slow service

Beware the drive-through. It is notoriously slow and more often than not, the order is wrong. When you go inside to have your order corrected, you'll be met with anything from contempt to indifference. Unfortunately, we eat there several times a year because the quick food options are very limited in this area. If you eat in, you'll find every surface covered in a greasy/sticky film. read more

The Steak 'n Shake on Meijer drive and on Coldwater road are filthy. I have been to both recently even leaving one to go to the other because of how dirty the first was. Fries and garbage on the floor. Kitchen a mess, front entrance disgusting. The amount of dust on the neon sign and chains that hold it above the waitress drink station. This is a direct reflection of poor ownership, poor management and lazy employees. If the places we can see look like that can you imagine what the walk in coolers look like? The cabinets where they keep food supplies and dinnerware? Maybe this review will grab someone's attention and they will improve or maybe they will just continue to do the same thing they are doing. I don't EVER leave reviews like this but I would have given it a 0 if possible. This has actually been the case the last few visits that I have been here but I decided to keep going back because I hoped for change. Board of health grade in my book would equal a big fat F......I just want to add that there are no excuses to a kitchen being dirty like this either. In n out is 100 times busier than this place and the floors from the front door to the back room are spotless. read more

Hurray for hot dog that came out with these skinny crisp fries, yummy! Service with a smile, to boot!

The service and food quality are consistently terrible here. The amount of food comped/discounted because of bad service and mistakes from the kitchen is crazy! You'd think red flags would go up with management that something needs to change... read more

I personally love Steak N Shake. Our family goes their at least once a month. We have on more than one occasion, waited for quite some time on our food. Sometimes the food we received was not the food we ordered. This has not happened all the time but more than once. I would say our server Allison (I think) does a great job. Food has always been great and will continue to come. read more

A friend of mine had an allergic reaction to their food, and when we alerted the manager, he said "You should just go to the hospital" and "you shouldn't go to restaurants if you have allergies like that". He did get his food for free, but the manager (Wade Yoder) was rude and disrespectful. He didn't seem to care and I won't be returning. read more

I usually don't have any problems here. Last visit was horrible. I ordered a frisco melt, large fry and mushroom Swiss burger to go, the food was good but the frisco melt barely had any sauce on it and the large fry container wasn't even close to being full. I love the crispy edges on the burgers, but they're so flat. If you go to steak n shake to fill your belly, you're going to want to get 2 burgers. read more
