For the love of GOD, avoid this restaurant . I ordered a 4 for $4 meal for take out. Huge mistake. I ordered the double cheeseburger and paid the 50 cents extra for the garlic spread. The burger was overcooked, crunchy and dry. Didn't get the garlic spread or any other condiments. My fries were cold and very old. My coleslaw was warm because it was bagged with the hot foods. I truly believe the entire staff shares one brain. The old expression you get what you pay for definitely applies. The hostess is working the cash register with people paying their bills. The remaining wait staff is behind a prep area. No one says anything to us. After 2-3 minutes the hostess walks away and goes to the prep area and proceeds to start texting on her phone. She finally seats us. She goes back the the pay area texting whiles she's walking to the register. People seated are getting their own menus because no one is coming to their table. . Stopped in for lunch today and have mixed reviews on this visit. I had the Philly cheesesteak burger and fries and it was very good. I would recommend it and it's the only saving grace for this review. While our waitress was nice enough...I had asked her for vinegar and she said they don't have any. I find this hard to believe since steak and shake actually sells salt and vinegar fries. The food took forever to be made. Had we gone through the drive thru we could have gotten the same orders 3xs in the amount of time it took at our table. Visited today after getting a Christmas tree, after not having been here for about 6-7 years, and I must say, it was more than a bit better than in years past. It's still a greasy burger joint, but the burgers were pretty tasty, inexpensive, and quick. Food is great but service is awful. We never go to the drive through because we know we'll be in there for atleast 25 minutes. One day we were the only cars in line and we sat at the window for 10 minutes just to pay, then another 15 to wait for our shakes. When we got them they were warm, melted, & one had a huge hole in the cup. When we took it in instead of the manager making us a new one, he poured it into a different cup. Awful. Upon entering the restaurant, I was not greeted for at least 10 minutes. The manager in a purple shirt looked at me 3 times, but did not seat me. Finally I was seated, but then was forgotten. I used to love this place. Over the last few years it has gone down so much. Gave it a last chance yesterday and was so disappointed. Walked in, lady told us to sit in a booth and we looked at her funny but did cause my husband was holding our baby. She did not bring a high chair or anything. Then we sat for about ten mins before we were even approached. Server came over and took our order, waited about ten mins and got milkshakes then another twenty before food came out. Food order was wrong and missing sides. Server did not apologize or ask how are food was. Across the restaurant we also saw 2 different parties get up and leave because they were there 15-20 mins and not even approached.. the restaurant was dirty and most customers looked upset as well as the unkind staff. 20 minutes to get seated. Another hour to get our food, which was brought to us a by a filthy server. Why? Because we were seated by the entry to the kitchen and it was clear she was also washing dishes and making shakes. We could see her doing it from where we sat! The trays are rubbing the aprons as the food is brought out. The SAME APRONS and PANTS COVERED in SLOP! Where is the actual dishwasher??? Where is the cook??? Why are servers scrubbing toilets and messing with bathroom garbage? It doesn't matter if they wash their hands or not. That gets on their CLOTHES! Then when it came time to leave, we waited another 30 minutes to check out! There was nobody at the register! I mean really? Food is good if/when you get it. Last few times I've been here with friends they were slightly busy and it's been pretty bad. Waiting 10-15 minutes after being seated to get a waitress, no knives, having to flag down ANOTHER waitress just to get refills are just a few examples of the bad experiences I've had. And it can't just be me as I've seen multiple people walk out. I was thinking of giving this 3 stars because the burgers & shakes ARE good!
