So all the advertising about Beef Tallow Fries got me. I had to try fries made in beef Tallow!!My husband and I used the credit card kiosk for ordering. Kiosk Was easy and very self explanatory. We ordered a meal deal to share. We selected the Double steak burger with cheese and fries and upgraded the fries to a medium.They cook to order. So we found a table in the spacious and clean dining area. We love the black and white vintage decor. Our Burger was great. The pickles were sliced long and there was ample ketchup and mustard. The thin cut fries were plentiful,piping hot and amazingly delicious! I rarely eat fries but they will be on my agenda more often when I am in Batavia. Staff so nice and they kept busy cleaning when not grilling . Very impressed. We will return. So close to Menards buy your meal and then go "Save Big Money!"! read more

The french fries were of the shoestring variety - very, very narrow - and were lukewarm and dried out rather than hot and fresh. With all their recent advertising about using beef tallow for their fries, I'd have thought they'd have nailed the fries - like 50+ years ago when people kept going back to McDonald's because of their fries (also reputed to have been fried in beef tallow). The chili 5-way was decent but, for my taste, would've been better had it been more Tex-Mex-style flavor than Cincinnati-style flavor. The building, both inside and out, is dated, and the parking lot is unkempt. read more

They don't even have servers anymore, it's a kiosk and then they place it on the counter for you to pick it up. And then they expect a tip. It's pretty much an expensive McDonald's at this point. I get it, use technology, but then the price should reflect that. read more

The food here is a 5 for sure - just had a single patty with cheese and garlic - it was so good - couldn't have been better. The store however, was very strange. It was a Sunday at 3pm - there was NO ONE in sight - no customers and no workers. They only have kiosks to place orders and do not accept cash. Once our order was placed we got our drinks and sat down. Then there were workers making our food and brought it out to the counter and called us up to get it. One of the two orders was wrong. Had some of it on the way home, had my spouse taste it and came to the conclusion of spoiled milk. again YUK Called the Batavia location and the Manager Jasmine and told her I had to through it away and to check her milk. I don't know why people diss this place. It's a nice burger, their fries are always hot, and they have the best assortment of milkshakes around. If I could give less than one star, I would. I took my mom here while she was in town. It was pouring rain out, I pulled up to the front and got my mom, wife and infant son I tot he restaurant and parked my truck. When I walked into the vestibule there was a leak in the ceiling pouring water onto the floor, and I almost slipped and fell. Not wet floor sign, or even bucket to catch the water. We stood waiting to be seated for almost 15 mins, while unhappy employees ignored us. I walked up to one waitress who was texting on her phone while making some coffee and let her know we were waiting to be seated, to which she responded "I KNOW, GIVE ME A MINUTE!" Overpriced, bland food. I ordered a single cheese steak burger and fries. The patty was paper thin and looked like Swiss cheese. The sandwich was all bun and I couldn't taste the meat. The fries were bland-- no salt or seasoning at all and had the same flavor as mashed potatoes. My daughter's chicken strips were lacking flavor as well. Oh, Steak 'n Shake; its been many years, and although we had missed you, we miss you no longer. 3 of us stopped by here for lunch on a terrible (typical Chicago winter) weather day (Cold & Sleet). We were greeted and seated right away. I LOVE their Orange Freezes, but it was a bit chilly in the restaurant, so I just stuck with a soda. I got the chili, cheeseburger & shoestring fries. Chili was a bit too sweet for me. Fries were just right. Cheeseburger? Seemed okay and I was talking away when my husband said, "your burger is not cooked all the way." Sure enough, I look down and my burger is red in the center (the outer parts were cooked, but the center wasn't). Damn. Took mom here for lunch. The good news -- they used the right bread for my mom's American Melt. After that, not a lot of highlights. Prices are cheap, I guess that's why at 60 I was the youngest customer in the place at 2pm. Shoestring fries were undercooked and got cold in about 30 secs. That was due to the A/C blowing down on us, as much as the thin size of the fries, I'm sure. My choice of Chili Deluxe was a bad one. The chili is this weird brown color and pretty tasteless. Ran the calorie count when I got home and headed out for a second lap around the neighborhood. 880 calories in a bowl! I'd say if you miss the old malt shop on the corner of downtown Bedford Falls, and you can get the Senior Center bus to stop by here, by all means don't miss Half Pirce Shake Happy Hour, every day between 2 and 5 (both am AND pm for you insomniac seniors). Don't even consider eating at this location. They have terrible customer service and the manager (Tabitha) didn't seem to be concerned about my complaint. Several months ago I ate at this location and ordered the 5 way chili. They didn't put all of the ingredients on the dish. Instead, the server brought the remaining ingredients to the table and told me I could fix it myself which I refused. From this point on I've only ordered shakes through the drive thru. Today, my wife purchased a shake and the cup wasn't adequately filled, when she complained at the drive thru she was told this is how they make their shakes (this hasn't happened before). She called the manager (Tabitha) when she got home to complain, however Tabitha wasn't the least bit interested in her complaint.
