This is a long review but as a perspective resident (in med school) with 4 current resident friends, we all (mainly them) have had the worst experiences with this building. The details are below if you would like to know specifics.
FOOTNOTES: don't be fooled, this building is misrepresented. It is not a "luxury" condo given the lack of staff, lack of security, mismanagement, problems with amenities, and cheap yet overpriced apartments. It is not on par with other luxury apartments in Providence despite its appearance.
I was looking into various apartments/condos in Providence (i.e the avalon, the regency, 905, waterplace, and lastly Station Row. I have a few close friends and an elderly family friend currently living at Station Row. Every one of these residents told me that despite the desirable appearance of the building, it is wildly misrepresented and mismanaged. For example, they advertise a "concierge package system" on the website, yet my resident friends have had numerous problems getting access to their packages on a daily basis. The "after hours concierge" is between 6-3am but they don't really have any access to info or discretion therefore they buzz in any person off the street without question, or are not even present at the front desk. Allegedly the office staff are under-qualified and consists of 2 people. One time I was visiting my friend, I hit the "office" button on the intercom system multiple times (because my friend was not answering) and I could see the office staffer ignoring it and looking the other way. Eventually, another resident walking by had let me in. My resident friends also complained that there is always trash in the hallways and despite the fact that they are on the 6th (top) floor, they can always hear the apartments around them due to the cheap flooring/construction.
DESPITE all of the negative feedback I had received from my friends living here, I regrettably decided to at least take a tour and give it a chance. I placed multiple calls in to the office on a Monday, from the opening time (10am) staggered until closing time (6) and was not able to get a single person to answer. I left 2 voicemails that day and waited until the Wednesday, still did not hear back. The office manager I spoke to (finally, days later with no call back I had physically gone again and caught someone) was very unprofessional, cold, and inattentive regardless of her disregard of ever getting back to me. I never got to schedule the tour (for the best) because she was so flustered and had to go deal with angry residents. In all of the times I waited in the lobby, I saw multiple residents coming down looking for staff and angrily walking away. There were packages strung about the lobby from the front desk on. The office manager does not answer emails or calls from my friends and the times they do, its days later with absolutely no answer or help. The hallways when I went to visit both my friend on the 6th and the 2nd floor, smelled heavily of trash because the "trash butler system" that they are required to pay extra monthly because there are no trash shoots.
Additionally, the "state of the art" appliances in the kitchen does not come with a microwave.
My friends have also had severe maintenance issues for weeks but have gotten to response from the office.
I am angry that I almost applied to sign a lease to this discount wannabe "luxury" building which seems impossible to be pleased with. read more
