So far, I love my loft and love the community itself. Alanna was just wonderful and responsive. My move in was without any issues - I had use of freight elevator for my movers as requested. Any issues I had were promptly resolved by Drew. Amenities are great. And I now love exploring the surrounding area - minutes to Oak Hill and East Side - lots of arts and culture nearby such as the amazing Hope Artiste Village. My place was also spotless when I moved in. I hope to live here for years to come. read more

It was sad to see that more people had the same experience I did... There are a few to mention but one that stood out to me was management looking for anything to charge you with when moving out. The carpet cleaning company (that is mandatory) basically laughed at me for hiring them after seeing the carpet that I asked them to clean...because of how clean the carpet was! All for management to STILL charge me for carpet cleaning saying there was a a spot on the rug. There was not... it actually was immaculate... The apartment was move in ready when I handed in the keys. It's disheartening that this is their culture. Excessive charging for things that do not need cleaning. I recently contacted Dalkey Management regarding a serious privacy and safety concern involving former employee Jay Leite. After his employment ended, he contacted my daughter, who lives at one of their properties, with explicit and sexually harassing messages. My daughter appropriately blocked him and contacted the police. However, my central concern remains unanswered: How was a former employee able to obtain, retain, and use a tenant's personal contact information after his employment ended? I received a response from Meline Vergne advising my daughter to block him and call the police, but I never received an explanation of how Mr. Leite had access to her information or why that information was apparently still available to him. As a parent, this is deeply concerning. Tenant contact information should be protected, particularly from former employees who no longer have any authorized reason to access it. This situation also raises broader questions: Has Dalkey Management investigated whether other female tenants were contacted by this former employee? What safeguards are in place to prevent former staff from retaining or misusing tenant information? Tenants deserve transparency, accountability, and assurance that their personal information is being properly protected. I am disappointed that such a serious privacy and safety concern has not received a direct, meaningful response. read more

100% would avoid this place. When we moved in, there were numerous damages we reported them as pre-existing. Charged us 1,600 dollars upon move out with a threat to take us to collections if not paid in 30 days -- that portion was highlighted for our benefit. Mind you we always paid our bills on time and complained about nothing. There is nothing exceptional about this place. They are charging people upon move out to upgrade things in their units. That is the only reason I could think of it. They will send you numerous, somewhat incoherent pictures to support their claims. AVOID. Also, they regularly remove reviews from Google. Just like many whom have posted reviews, my initial experience with SCM was positive.. as soon as there was issues, it went downhill swiftly. The security.. there is absolutely none.. there is no after hours security at this place.. time and time again vehicles in the parking lots are vandalized.. what's the point in having cameras if there is no one watching them.. Rubbish.. good luck with emptying your trash.. the dumpsters are always over flowing.. The amenities... laughable at best, outdoor dining is basically a cement pad in the parking lot, which is right next to the dog run, which reeks of urine. Folks, the pics are pretty, but ask yourself, do you really want to live at the edge of the hood? We have witnessed countless homeless folks trying to enter the buildings, urinate behind dumpsters and shoot up drugs in the parking lot.. Management is extremely unprofessional, combative, and down right rude.. Please Consider All of your options before your enter into a binding agreement with this place.. a year is an awfully long time to be stuck in a bad situation.. read more

Absolutely beautiful loft apartments, Huge, clean and you can easily fall in love with them. From the HUGE windows, to the exposed brick.... what is not to love? We quickly put in our application and $500 deposit. Upon returning home I decided to do a bit of research to see what others had to say, or read about what past tenants thought... What we found was mortifying, from issues with trash, to the employees running the place, to noise issues and written warnings, to the issues with parking and safety and the amount of cars that are jacked up on cinder blocks, to the issues with owing more at the end even after they eat your entire deposit up.... We sadly could not move forward with the lease and decided that it was best to forfeit the $500 than to sign ourselves up for a year or more of misery. I am sure there are some happy tenants out there but the amount of unhappy paints a clear picture for me. Loft living is not for me and I am thankful to have gone thru this process to learn that. read more

Apartment was beautiful, but staff is passive-aggressive and unprofessional. In my two years, I experienced two leaks. A few highlights of the negative experiences: -On move in day they were scrambling to get the apartment ready. Still touching up paint and hurriedly trying to mop and clean up. In the rush, they did not do a great job, leaving me to have to clean up after them. -2 leaks in 2 years. While they stopped the actual leak, it took them nearly 2 months to come and repaint the ceiling, which they only ever partially finished. When they did come and do some of the work, they left paint/ceiling dust all over the affected area. -I received a passive-agressive, threatening message accusing me of smoking marijuana in my apartment (which was not true). The message was specifically to me and they threatened "further action" if it didn't stop. I met with them to discuss where I told them it wasn't me and they simply said "we've received complaints". My issue is how could the smell be narrowed down to my apartment and why was there not a broader message sent to the whole floor for example? During the conversation the staff member was dismissive -Upon move out I left the apartment quite clean. Not quite professionally clean, but certainly cleaner than I moved in based on the scramble. They charged me for excessive cleaning. -I was also charged nearly $400 to replace the stovetop because it had very mild discoloration. Replacing a stovetop that is fully functional for slight discoloration is excessive. Overall save yourself from periodic flooding, passive-agressive staff and nickel and diming upon move out. read more

I lived at Slater for over two years with my dog. From the moment we arrived Meline, Nicole, and Alana were absolutely amazing. They were wonderful to my dog and me. They will hold you, and every other tenant to the rules (which are very clearly outlined in the lease and emails) equally to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for every resident. Maintenance staff are incredible and any time I reported anything to be fixed in my apartment or one of the buildings, it was fixed. The portal was easy to use and there is a box to check if they are allowed in your apartment while you're not home, they ALWAYS respected that they were not allowed in my apartment without someone present (because of the dog). I truly have not a single complaint about the building, the staff, or the amenities. I was absolutely devastated to leave. In reading other reviews, I do encourage you to keep in mind these are all old buildings, the floors are going to creak, the windows may leak, but one thing I never had an issue with, was maintenance fixing something comprehensively. All it ever required for us was clear, respectful communication with office staff to have EVERY issue resolved. Moving in and out: Both the move in and move out process were clear and straightforward. Any charges incurred are clearly outlined in a ledger in your move out paperwork. The process for carpet cleaning upon move out if you have carpet is pretty clearly outlined in the move out paperwork. Again, as long as you read your lease and documents sent, and you're respectful, it's not hard to understand. I probably went overboard cleaning my apartment upon moving out, and I treated my apartment respectfully while there, and never had an issue at either move out. Manuals are included with all appliances to understand how to use and care for appliances, and directions on what to clean are outlined in the move out paperwork. If you do regular cleaning and maintenance on appliances (cleaning filters, running cleaners through them), moving out is not that hard. Regarding the location: it is a phenomenal location. If you're a commuter, the new train station is easy to get to and well-lit. There are a few coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance, the public library is within walking distance. While yes of course you will encounter homeless people, you are in a city and will encounter them all the same as any other city. I never had an issue with anyone I encountered on the street, the parking lots are well lit and my car never encountered any trouble either. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE . It's very clear that the landlord/ owner does not care about the team they have managing their "luxury apartments". There are countless reviews about Nicole's unprofessional behavior and yet she still sits at the front desk repeatedly treating tenants with the upmost disrespect. It's clear she does not have the skill set to conduct herself in an appropriate manner when handling challenging situations . She raises her voice, talks over you and threatens you with reporting/ penalties etc. There isn't a contact to discuss management concerns . The only contact they'll provide is Meline , who is also onsite but refuses to intervene with the ongoing issues circulating her staff. Management will constantly make up rules and policies when they don't like someone or when they want a tenant to just do whatever it is they're instructing them to do. For example - The complex says they're pet friendly with breed restrictions. Pets must also be spayed or neutered . This past year they Told tenants if they want a second pet it needs to be over a year old. They've also allowed boxers, bullies and Doberman pinchers along with countless pets who haven't been spayed or neutered. Tenants received a mass email from management stating quiet hours are in full effect at 10 pm on weekends and holidays - no exceptions. The email ended with a reminder that tenants don't have ownership in the property so they need to abide by the rules. The apartments have a unique look and are at first sight appealing . When I moved in (unseen due to the property's request)there were scratches and marks all over the cabinets, knobs missing, stains on the carpet, windows that didn't open, mouse droppings under the sink and paint stains on the hard wood floors. The hallways smell musky in the summer& the complex claims they have a gym but none of the machines work. Theres a treadmill that's been sitting in the gym with a post it that says " Don't plug me in I spark". Crime is high in the neighborhood. The cars in the parking lot are constantly being broken into. If you ask anyone living here they'll confirm that catalytic converters are constantly being stolen. I would hardly call this complex luxury when both the customer service and property are severely lagging in what it actually means to be called luxury . read more

I have loved the space, the other tenants, the convenient access to Rt 95 and Hope Street shops and downtown Providence, etc. Now that there is a brand new train station w/ trains to Boston within walking distance, Slater Cotton Mills Apartments is likely going to look even better to prospective tenants. Word to the wise: DO NOT LIVE HERE IF NICOLE IS STILL THE MANAGER! Will provide details on her petty, punitive and snarky behavior once I'm safely and fully moved out. Wish me luck. I was optimistic about moving here, and then had a sudden death in the family and had to cancel my lease after only having it signed for a week or so (Apartment isn't even vacated yet and wasn't moving there for another month and and half). Nicole Whittaker was pretty friendly at first, and then it was like wires got crossed and while I was home for said family funeral, threatened me with attorneys because I didn't get back to her via email over the weekend. She was insanely aggressive and confrontational to get my 2,250 dollars for getting out of a lease I barely even had. So I believe all of these reviews about her unprofessionalism. We are all working through a pandemic and trying our best. I honestly just feel like I dodged a bullet and I'm glad I don't have to deal with her as my apartment manager. read more

My journey at Slater Cotton Mills started in 2014 and I stayed there for almost 2 years. I moved in here because it was convenient from my work and I fell in love with the apartments. However, not all started on a very bright note. The first night I stayed at my apartment; I woke up to find my car towed away since the car parking tag fell on my passenger seat and the towing company being the vultures they are; towed the car. Now I will tell you that the management did warn me that the car park sticker needs to be visible at all times however it that thing is a small card type that hinges on the rearview mirror of the car and did fall off for whatever reasons. I was kind of livid - but what initially stung me was that the management said well...it's your problem. I just didn't get it - they knew I was a resident there and my parking tag was in the car yet they didn't support me. I ended up having to pay $150. Brutal, I know. Anyhow, since that first annoying day I didn't look back. I enjoyed living at SCM very much. Infact I think most people love their apartments here so much that they never leave - the front parking lot is always full The amenities are really good in the house. The washer dryer are excellent and the apartments are gorgeous. Miss my floor to ceiling Windows so much now that I Have moved out. The location is right next to the highway in Pawtucket so if you work in RI or Southern mass - you're pretty well situated at a reasonably good price. Pawtucket is slightly sketchy and definitely not a place where you want to be walking alone at night. But this property is quite close to the nice part of Pawtucket where it meets the east side of Providence. My one BDR was $1120 without utilities. Utilities on an average would be; $55-60 electricity $70 water/heat in the winters $65 Internet My experience with the management was interesting. I think there is definitely room for improvement but what I found is that they are really good at communicating about stuff. They were quick to have packages and be ready for you. The Maintainence person was really good and did the job in a timely fashion. The staff can be more polite I felt but maybe this is just an east coast thing. Nicole is quite professional and it was really because of her that my move out was extremely smooth. She did a fantastic job and really helped me out. Christine has also been extremely helpful in coordinating small things over the last half a year I had interacted with her. Make sure you do the walk in inspection thoroughly notify the staff about any problems you see. Nicole did my walk in and I immediately told her about the stuff that was damaged etc and we kept it on my file. I was slightly scared about the move out walk and charges because I had read that people get dinged quite easily by Brady Sullivan. However I am a very neat person at baseline so my apartment was not in a bad shape to begin with. I cleaned up everything quite good and they didn't charge any single penny extra to me and returned my deposit after subtracting my utilities close out bill. Like I said, communication communication communication had been key. I think the key was that I did the walk out again with Nicole who knew my apartment etc pretty well. I was so glad! I have realized that these ladies are very understandable if you go talk to them on a one on one level. Some of the cons are the parking in the front may be an issue as it fills up very quickly. The residents of the building really should not be towed and it they do get towed and if their parking tags are indeed in the car then I think the company needs to instill a pay back policy! I did get towed three times (twice because I could not get my car out in the ploughing time). They also should upgrade their gymnasium equipment. The pets sometimes cause problems by peeing etc in the elevator and it leads to a staunch smell but again SCM staff cleans quickly and Infact they recently did complete removal of an old carpet because of this problem. Otherwise, the apartments are amazing. Beautiful and comfortable. They are also very clean - the trash chute on my floor has never even smelled bad! I know that the first floor used to smell bad - mix of weed and trash but my floor was really neat and intact. Infact I was impressed by how clean the trash area on the fourth floor remains! The rent is quick reasonable - you get bank for your bucks here. If I moved back to RI I think I'll come back to live here again :) read more

I would like to start with saying I have lived in a lot of apartments due to my nature of work and having to relocate quite often. I was beyond in impressed with the application process and how they screen their tenants it put my mind at ease knowing how thorough they are in doing so. For the day i moved in until now all of my work orders are completed in a timely manner and if there is an emergency they have an emergency number i can call and they come right out. I can say after reading some of the other reviews it seems to me that the people that wrote those reviews didn't follow the lease terms because the management here at Slater are very strict with following the rules and the lease. If you are a professional and looking for a great place to live i would definitely consider living here. read more

This place has horrible service! Do Not Rent from them! Especially if you're a person of color or considered minority. My partner and I live out of state and are relocating to the area. We inquired all seemed well. We were then asked to submit income and other documents. From the beginning since the first initial email, Alanna Forte , someone who works there who clearly is unaware of the Fair Housing Laws of Rhode Island, Which she kept stating loosely on numerous occasions as reasons why she needed soooo much Information. We are both transplants to Philadelphia so renting from out of state is NOT THIS DIFFICULT! mind you she is requesting all of this to be notarized and sent in by Monday... it was SATURDAY EVENING almost 4pm when she requested this.. she then requested us to send deposit and other information expedited which cost $29 approx. as in same day delivery. We did that. So all seemed well she then asked for our IDs and that's when the tone changed and she then began asking for additional information! In a sense after that you could tell she was making it difficult and more of a process. My partner is of Latin decent and Italian and I am black and Native American. Once she saw us as a gay couple, interracial and not from the area , her tone changed and eventually it resulted in denial of application. She then said she would not expedite sending us our refund but we were required to expedite money . We had to then sign MORE paper work just to get the refund back! we both have great jobs and we're moving there because of one of our jobs... which is AWESOME but we were judged after the submission of IDs. We met all other requirements and paid all required fees! There was no other reason why we didn't get in...all in all... DO not waste your time and money getting involved with these guys... they're bad business... find out if you want to.! So far...it's giving Rhode Island a bad look in general... this isn't the only place...I'll be doing more reviews on those soon! read more

Do not expect any of your security deposit back! Make sure you document and take pictures of everything in the apartment, and do not use any of the appliances as any sort of minor damage will come out of your deposit. If there is even a tiny crack on the mirror in the bathroom, make sure the move-in inspector signs that it exists or else they will charge you to replace the entire mirror. The only way you will get all of your security deposit back is if you don't live in the apartment at all. They will charge you more than your security deposit! If you own any pets, any stains on the carpet - regardless if they're from the animal or not - will be considered pet stains, and you will have to pay the costs to replace the carpet. For the bedroom (the ONLY room with a carpet), it cost me $767.10 to replace the because of "stains", that were not verified with UV light to determine their origin. It is best that you do not have a pet, solely for this reason. Their carpet life cycle is 10 years, but they will not automatically re-carpet after 10 years. Expect to be charged for a brand new carpet when you leave if you move in now. After spending $74,000 in rent over six years, they nickel and dimed me for everything. They didn't even have the courtesy to take only my security deposit - they wanted an additional $304.40 on top of the $995 security deposit - or roughly 0.5% of the rent I paid. Other complaints: 1) Fire alarm goes off at least once per month, at all sorts of times. There is no explanation given what caused the alarm. In some cases, someone burned food in their apartment and they opened the door to the hallway (this act of stupidity occurred in my hallway often). One time, when it went off at 3AM and lasted a full half hour in the snow, it was a power surge. I had to ask the apartment complex what caused an alarm at 3AM because they never let their tenants know what caused a fire alarm. One would expect a notification after spending half an hour at 3 in the morning out in the snow. I spoke with another resident who said they plan to leave when their lease is up in part to the frequent alarms. 2) Walls are paper thin. Enjoy hearing your neighbors fight with each other! 3) Though mostly not the fault of the company, the neighborhood is terrible, and continuing to decline. a. Cars get broken into, and the complex is more-or-less in Central Falls. b. In 2015, neighborhood kids stole a television from the gym. They did not break in; they were able to follow some inside. Breaking in is also not difficult at all. I twice saw a man force open a secured door on the Church street side by only pulling hard on it. c. A car had its wheels stolen and was held up only by cinder blocks. d. Used needles litter the sidewalk. e. Some hallways reek of marijuana. They had to amend their lease contract to include illegal drug possession. 4) Plan to throw your trash out Monday afternoon to Friday morning. The trash compactor and chute is completely full during the weekend, so you either keep the trash in your apartment, or pile it in the trash rooms like many, many other people do. I'm surprised more people weren't charged $25 for leaving their trash bags in the chute room. 5) If you do not like your hallway walls swarming with flies, do not live on the first floor. During the spring and summer, the flies spawn from the trash compactor that's located on that level. Eventually, the flies die and litter the hallway or window ledges for weeks at a time. The smell as you walk by the trash room can be very offensive and downright embarrassing if you have guests and you walk by the trash room. For $1000+ per month for a one bedroom apartment, one would expect the facility to be clean. 6) Parking is a nightmare. Do not expect to park in the main lot if you arrive after 5PM. It will be completely full, and you will need to park elsewhere - such as the back parking lot or another lot further away. Snow removal is aggravating. You need to move your car from the main lot to some other location (not any of the Brady Sullivan lots though! They all must be free of cars from 9AM-12PM!). Make sure your guests know the parking policies. The only lot they can park (and not worry about getting towed) is the municipal lot. 7) Nothing is included in the rent. You will have to pay for gas (for heat), water, electricity and cable. read more

It's shocking to see the amount of disgruntled past tenants who leave reviews... in all honesty, I've loved living here. Lived here throughout 2020 and had to move a couple weeks ago due to work relocation (going back to the office). For those who are unaware, there are 4 buildings on this property, but I lived in building I (the main building). Prior to moving, I did not get to see the apartment but signed what they call a "sight unseen". The girls in the office were so helpful during the whole process (I was pretty stressed to move to another state and not get to see the space I would reside in). They put me at ease with the whole thing; providing me with whatever pictures and videos they could, taking all my annoying phone calls, and answered all my annoying question (LOL) and I can tell you that I was not disappointed once I moved out here. There were a few hiccups during my tenancy (ie. washer and dryer had to be replaced, microwave stopped working) but even with the short staffing, delay of deliveries, etc. management always tried to do their best. As far as moving out goes, it wasn't hard. You literally have to clean your appliances and floors. They found some pet stains on my bedroom carpet so that kind of stunk, but I knew the risk with my dog, so no argument here. Read your lease when you sign it... I would bet I'm one of the only people leaving a review that actually read all 47 pages of their massive lease. It wasn't fun but it's filled with all of the information of what you can and cannot do. Overall, I would recommend their properties to anyone. STOP TOWING OUR CARS!!!!! We've lived here 9 months and have had our cars towed twice!!! One of our friends stayed overnight and got there car towed, we were so embarrassed that we paid the $138 to get it out of the impound lot. Management did not inform us they would do this. Where are they supposed to park? Ever since then we've been meticulous about making sure our permit tags were well placed and visible. This didn't seem to matter when we were towed a second time the other night - another $138!!!! AAHHHH!!!!!! Somehow the permit tag was missing in my car when we got there - did Metro Towing break into my car to remove the permit? Perhaps the management here is in a racketeering arrangement with the towing company? VERY VERY SHADDY!!! We even tried to get a replacement hang tag - they want $100 from us!!! We both feel very violated and uncomfortable here. I wake up in the middle of the night with nightmares that they are towing my car. We are working professionals (and former homeowners) trying to get by and do not have have the energy to worry all the time about our cars!!! I also own several rental properties and have never treated my tenants this way! We can't wait till our lease is up so this nightmare ends!!! Hopefully we have our cars then!!! read more

Let me just start off by saying never again ! Don't be fooled by the pictures or what they write on their page. This is the most racist place ever ! The manager Nicole Whittaker is terrible at her job ! She's very unprofessional, confrontational & argumentative this shouldn't be a position for someone like her. We used to have a few of our friends over and quite hours were at 11pm and I promise we were not doing anything to disturb any of the other tenants people started making complaints and instead of her asking us anything she'll automatically believe whatever they were telling her we were doing after hours. She gave other tenants permission to come bang at our door whenever they felt like we were being too loud. They called the cops on us because our 6 month old son was crying too loud and the cops came in and saw everything was fine she didn't do anything about that. My boyfriend and his friends were in the basketball court playing and a white lady called the cops saying they snuck in just because they were all black ! She didn't do shiit about that either. Nicole Whittaker went on sharing our personal information with other people that didn't live in our unit. She would take our packages and put it in the trunk of her car just because there was a different name on it but we told her it's ours, and when we said we were gonna report it stolen she put it back. There's a breed restriction in that building and that you can't have pit bulls she herself has two and allows other tenants to have it and tells them to bring it out after hours so she don't see it just in case. We had a visitor bring a little puppy she said it couldn't stay. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone there's a lot of racism and discrimination in this place and she's terrible at her job. read more

My initial weeks at Slater Mills were very positive- the majority of the staff and members of maintenance are terrific. I enjoyed my large apartment windows and the charm of living in a historic building. Unfortunately, like many others who've left reviews, my experience overall was ruined by the horrors of the move-out process, the poor management, and lack of security within the building and neighborhood. Similar to other complaints, I too was charged exorbitant fees upon moving out and was charged the FULL cost to replace the carpet in our bedroom. I had taken over the lease of a family who had lived in my unit for several years; the carpet was poorly installed, fraying and stained. None of this was visible upon my initial (and hasty) walkthrough with the property manager prior to moving in. It was only after settling into the apartment and having my furniture delivered and placed, that I even took notice of the condition of the carpet. Knowing that my move to Slater was going to be temporary, (I was only there for one year), I chose to overlook the carpet's faults and damage. My restraint ending up costing me, as I was blamed for all of the damage and was charged over $800 to have the carpet fully replaced. Note: Dalkey also took $200 from my security deposit noting "cleaning fees". The total amount in itemized charges came to $1009.92, which is absolutely criminal. In addition to the horrors of the move-out process, I was appalled by my interactions with property manager. She is both unprofessional and disagreeable, and I am shocked that she's maintained a position within Dalkey Management. Lastly, I'd be remiss if I did not mention the dangerous neighborhood and lack of security within the building. I came to my car located in the main parking lot one morning to find that the vehicle next to me had all four of its wheels stollen. A neighbor in the building warned me that they had seen someone get mugged as she was returning to the apartments one night, and on any given evening, the entire building reeks of marijuana. For anyone looking to rent from Slater Mills, I advise you find another place to call home. I only wish I had read more reviews before deciding to do so. read more

To start, I would not give this place one star except for the fact the apartments are very pretty. They claim this oh-so-called tight security, well here's a story that will raise hairs on your neck. I happen to walk out of my apartment at approximately 5:30 am, as I got off the elevator I hear snoring, I rounded the corner to find a homeless man sleeping in the hallway with a bottle of booze and a bucket of puke...Now where's the security??? I brought this to the attention of management, whom of course needs help in proffetionalism and respect, they said to me, oh no worries we seen that you escorted him out... Like really??? Someone in this place needs to look into new management, Nicole and Meline will literally talk about other tenants to everyone... Trust me nothing good at all. Watch out, if there's issues, they will try to get you to rat people out by asking who did what and when. The amenities, "hence deck" is locked in the winter time. They complain all the time about people being loud talkers. Ahh, hello?? Your outside communicating with your neighbors. I get the quiet time is 11pm.. that is understandable. But they tried to shut it down before at 5 when they left and close it on weekends. You will never see your deposit, so just forget that. Especially at 1600 a month they do not realise people who are clean need it to move to newer location. Let's talk about their so-called security and the parking lot.. how about walking to your car and it's up on blocks with no tires?? Oh ya it happened. The poor lady it happened too asked to see the security footage, guess what they said? Oh we only go back 12 or so hours and couldn't pull up the video for the police to get a ID on the person/person's who did the crime. You can never get a front parking spot, forget about the winter when you got to walk around the block in snow to get to your car. There are no security cameras in any hallway, so they rely on rats to do their dirty work. You would think with all the bad reviews about management that they would get new people in there. Beware! The management at this location and I assume all Brady Sullivan locations is awful. Very rude and inconsiderate management style. Be careful moving out. they are going to keep your deposit. They will try to take you for everything you are worth regardless of how you leave the apt. I was one of the first people to move into this building and it has gone down hill. Trash was left outside right next to their sign for weeks and it is like walking through land mines to avoid the dog poop.....directly outside the back door....for weeks. So I show up @ the mill w/high expectations, my elderly father & his wife who had scheduled an appointment a couple days before. The apt would be for my father who now walks w/a cane & leans heavily on his wife. This wicked skinny dark haired mid 30's woman w/just the beginning traces of hardness creasing her face looked up @ us dismissively. Clearly she had better things to do than show apt units to elderly men. Then when pressed she huffed up saying they only had one left which turned out to be dirty, dark & dismal. She just stood there looking bored, giving us one or two word answers & hoping we would leave quickly. We didn't even get a tour of the public spaces; the gym, theater & rooftop terrace. I would give this review a negative star rating if I could. I was appalled @ the sheer rudeness of this stupid skinny woman & she can stick her friggin' mill. Obviously my Dad was not the type of resident she felt would represent the hip urban clientele demographic she felt the mill was hoping for. All the reviews that are posted on this site are absolutely true. We read all the reviews before we moved in last year and every single one the negative things said about this place have come true. The walls are paper thin, the appliances are nice to look at but almost all of them are refurbished and dented/ scratched etc, the security in the area is terrible, this is a place where you are paying between 1000-1700 a month in rent and have to worry about your car getting broken into, I actually saw someones brand new car have their tires stolen last week right in front of one of their cameras, also, pet owners leave their dog crap everywhere and when you have visitors not only do they have to park out back and walk all the way around the building to get in but they also have to watch where they step because if people don't feel like picking up after their dog they typically take them out back. Then the biggest thing we were worried about when we moved in came true, the move out inspection. We had damages in the apartment and notified and documented them with management, management and maintenance told us they were not going to charge us and that everything would be ok. Then a week later we find out other wise, in fact we now not only have to pay them to repair the damages but they won't repair them until we are out of the apartment, giving me the feeling that they are going to charge us what they want and most likely not repair anything. Also when dealing with the front office I asked to speak with upper management to get a reason as to why they wouldn't repair the damages. Also, if you have kids and are thinking about moving in here there are three registered sex offenders that live one street over, so I wouldn't let your kids play in the wonderfully landscaped piece of grass we have out front. Look elsewhere 1000-1700 in rent could get you a heck of a lot more somewhere outside of pawtucket. read more

Renting at Slater Cotton Mills has been the worst experience I have had renting to this point. I am a clean, reliable, and quiet tenant. And, although someone could move in right after I moved out, a major portion of my security deposit was not returned because they claim they had to change the rug in the bedroom. According to them there were stains on the rug. Somehow they claim there were stains in the areas where I had furniture. I am not sure how you make stains under your bedroom furniture. I think the rug was stained when I moved in. There was a major leak in the apartment. It was dirty bathroom water from the public toilet upstairs. It was streaming out of the recessed lighting in the ceiling. It was not a drip or trickle. It was pouring out. When the leak occurred they were rude and not concerned. Nothing was ever cleaned. I had to scrub the areas where the dirty water was. Two months after the leak, there were still stains on the wall and doors. The leak completely soaked the utility closet and I was told it was fine. No-one ever came in to check if mold was growing. I would not suggest this complex to anyone. read more

Slater Cotton Mill - Apartments Near Me - Pawtucket, Rhode Island

The only nice thing about this place is the interior. There is crime in the area which makes me feel unsafe coming home from work at night. Vandalism and theft in the parking lots (even the ones with cameras). Apparently the building has security, whom I have never seen around. Very expensive to get out of lease agreement. I do not recommend living here. The rent is high and no utilities are included. They charge a convenience fee also, yet nothing about this place is convenient. read more

This is the worst apartment complex ever. If two people live in an apartment you only get one parking pass. My boyfriend needed to move for a job - they won't let him sublet and want him to pay more money than if he just paid out the rest of the lease. They are scam artists and are incompetent. The walls in the apartments are not insulated so it's extremely loud in the units. Also, dust accumulates extremely easily in the exposed beams and ceiling fans. If you suffer from asthma or allergy be sure to stay away. Everything in the apartments look nice but it's the cheapest quality you can get. Most of the appliances are refurbished, scratched or dented. Residents are really bad about picking up after their dogs. There is dog feces all over the sidewalks, green area and even in the hallways. Also, the one trash can where you can use to clean up after your pet is constantly full and maintenance takes up to three days to empty it out. The Property Managers are constantly changing. In the one-year I lived at Slater Cotton Mill we had three different Property Managers and all but one were pretty useless. Also, if you move in here DO NOT expect to receive your security deposit back no matter how neat and tidy you are. They will nickel and dime you and try to charge you for anything and everything they possibly can. I have never had an issue moving out of a property and have great reviews from all past property owners but I have been getting a run for my money here at Slater Cotton Mills. Also, be very careful in the parking lot at night. As a female I carry pepper spray with me when I am walking from my car to the door and vise versa. It's extremely dangerous and I have seen three cars get broken into. Also, there are three registered sex offenders who live in the next street. Be aware of this if you have children!! I really wanted to like my experience here at Brady Sullivan's Slater Cotton Mill but unfortunately, the poor property management, paper thin walls, uncleanliness of the building, security and move-out procedures don't make this place worth it. We have lived here for years and love the apartment. The layout is decent, but the ambiance is beautiful. Unfortunately the management is absolutely awful, I dreaded the day we moved out because of all the horror stories we heard. There is never the same person in the office and no one communicates with each other. We also have a dog and basically have a 2x4 space of grass to take the dog to and no one picks up after their dogs..disregarding the obvious free poop bags and sign. No matter how often we complain, nothing is done about this problem. People also live in this building illegally and that is unappreciated by us since we had to go through credit checks and background checks to both occupy one apt. The people who lived below us were there illegally and would constantly prop open the door to the building because they had only one key. No offensive to the residents of Pawtucket, but I felt very unsafe knowing those doors were left open for just anyone to walk into. There's a reason the building has cameras and residents have two keys to access the building. We complained about this happening..and low and behold, nothing was done and they were allowed to continue living there. When we moved out we filled out all the appropriate paper work, including a box that indicated "check here to stop automatic monthly rent payments." We checked the box and, shocker, got charged our rent 2 days before we closed on a house. When I called the office frantic I was pretty much told there was nothing they could do and I had to call the paylease system...THAT BOX WAS FOR THE OLD SYSTEM. I almost lost it...why in God's name would you include a box like that on paperwork that is incorrect and extremely misleading. So now we need to jump through hoops to get our 1,175 dollars back. And don't expect to get your security deposit back either. The management is inconsistent and they all point fingers at each other.
