BUYER BEWARE!!! 100% SCAM!!! SAM IS DAVID WHO CLAIMS TO HAVE NO PART IN SALES!!! They will say anything to get you in their office. Website inventory not up to date. Was looking for a car they claim to just had sold. Down talked it by saying, "It'll give you problems. Why would you want that car?" Talked to the old guy David and he said Sam wasnt there. Claims to not have nothing to do with sales. He's just shows the cars. Drove the car I initially wanted but it had 134,000 miles on it. Over the phone "Sam" said it had 94,000. THEY WILL SAY ANYTHING TO GET YOU ON THE LOT!!! Picked a car after test driving three. Then we go to his office. I tell him Sam said all I needed was this amount, there would be no taxes, and payments would be 180-190. He says there's nothing "Sam" can do it's up to the finance department. I wanted to speak to Sam at that point hoping to get the deal I was offered. He says call the office and it will be transferred to Sam's cell phone. I call Statewide in front of him and asked to be transferred to sales. The phone in his office rings. LIAR!!! He is in charge of sales. He is the one who you speak with. At this point I was fed up, but determined. So I went to the next step... Finance dept. Then I get an email from CreditKarma for a hard inquiry. I asked the Filipino lady in the finance department do they run credit? She said no, until I showed her the hard inquiry on my CreditKarma. Then said "Oh..." Lying bitch! Asked for the carfax but she said, "After I input your information and close the deal then I'll show you." Frustrated I said show me the carfax or give me my money back. Showed me an outdated one. Claimed servers were down. Wanted me to pay 4,700 as a down payment for a monthly payment of 349 or 5700 for a monthly payment of 249. I do the math and 349 x 48 months is over 15,000... So a 11,900 vehicle turns into 20,000+ with down payment, taxes and interest? I told them I dont want the car give me my money back. DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!! read more

BUYER BEWARE.......RUN DON'T WALK!I I recognize that Statewide offers financing for those who have credit woes and hence the mind blowing APR's. That's unfortunately the price many of us have to pay for our credit circumstances. However, beyond that, the customer service offered once you make a purchase is ZERO to NONE. Made a purchase two weeks ago and the car has been in their "shop" for a week. I honestly don't think they even check the cars out before they put them up for sale. It almost seems like they buy the cars, give them a sub-par wash and stick them directly on their lot. Communication is horrible, at best, and with no loaners, car rental assistance and their location you may find yourself stuck if you ever (which it seems most will) need these unserviced car repaired. I guess some of their clients have been LUCKY but during my "service" attempt at least (3) new owners having made their purchase less than three weeks prior, like myself, are having major issues getting their automobile repaired. Two of the three cars will no longer even start which is over and above the reason they were seeking service in the first place. I am being told now that my car will need to be towed to the dealership..... Other, but not all, issues are: advertised down payment of approximately "30%" should be correctly restated as approximately "35%" and the "we don't run credit" is a BOLDFACE lie! It may not be used in determining whether they finance or not but it is simply untrue. They can keep the barbeque. I'd rather have honesty and a well serviced auto. I called before to see if the car was in fact there and the guy Sam said yes it was and he would pick me up from the airport. This place sells junk cars and doesn't honor the warranty. You will be spending thousands of dollars getting the repairs done at another location! Called up there about a car I wanted and they said they have it. I make a super long drive down there and they don't have it but they happen to have the same car in a different color that costs $2000 more than the one I saw. The car is also priced something like 5000 above the blue book value because of some rims that they put on it that I don't even like. I buy the car because I feel I can not get financed anywhere else. I look over and see someone else filling out the paperwork to buy a car he looks as sad and defeated as I feel. I look around see more people and realize that the rest of the people look angry and sad too and realize that the other people in there are actually not there to buy a car, they are there to get their car serviced because there is a bunch of serious stuff wrong with their car. After I bought it I found out it has a huge list of problems including brakes, power steering, air shocks system,bent rim, ac, window motor, etc. oh and be careful if you have nice clothes because they put what appears to be tan shoe polish on the seats and carpets to hide the damage and stains and the stuff comes off on your clothes. So I take it into the service dept to Eddie and he says no problem he will fix it because it is still under warranty. He says he fixed everything but when I begin driving home I realize the only thing fixed was the window and bent rim. All of the internal issues were not fixed. So he says bring it back. Keep in mind, I live over 3 hours away so I have to turn around on the freeway and take it back right now . I sit for hours and he said he really fixed it this time. Well when I get home my brakes are still grinding and my ac stops working again. so I take it to a mechanic near my home and they tell me that NOTHING was fixed! Wtf. So statewide does give you a "warranty" but that just means that they will hold your car in their service center for a few hours, do nothing and then give it back to you and tell you they fixed it. Try to talk to the guy who sold you the car and tell him what's going on and he pretends to have no power to help you. He says he will tell the owner of the dealership about it but it's pretty obvious that he is the owner just trying to avoid taking any responsibility for what is going on. People who buy a car here know that they are basically selling their soul to the devil. But they feel they have no choice but to shop here if they have bad credit. Please do your self a favor and just take the steps to repair your credit, get a cheaper car somewhere else or find a co-signer, save up and pay cash from a reputable place but trust me do not put yourself through the nightmare of buying a car here! I was not a very happy camper about a year and a half ago, but I have now gone over in person and seen the organizational changes made inside the company. Statewide may have suffered from growing to big too fast but now have seen to ease back into being a great place to purchase a High End automobile. They carry their own paper so everyone basically is approved, so you can find a luxury car or SUV for a fraction of what it would be anywhere else. So, if you have never had an experience in visiting this place, now is a good time to see what they can do for you, and if you tried and had a bad experience you may now be pleasantly surprise with their adjustments to business. the worst dealership..purchased a car from them, I negotiated a 2 month bumper to bumper warranty with them, also purchased there mandatory insurance. My car was involved in a accident. the bumper and front Axel was broken. Instead of insurance fixing the problem with the dealership, they refused to cover the cost. Charged me storage fees for holding the car without my consent then charged me $6,000 to fix the car. On top of my monthly payments of $700. out of frustration I paid them.. Which I notice all there cars battery are dead so the can jump and reset everything. 2nd X6 which is 29k windows do not go down at all. He was like "oh that's easy fix." Now I pissed. If your selling cars all the issues should be fix before going on showroom. Other customers was complaining saying make sure you drive the car freeway etc. So I ask can test car on freeway he stated no not allowed. Which another red flag. I waste $500.00 on flight to Burbank and back home. But I'm glad instead of wasting more money. I do not recommended this company to anyone I don't care how bad your credit. First and Foremost: the review from Steve H below is a complete sham..placed by 818statewide.... Here is the scope! When you first walk in; you see a vehicle of your choice; after you get a crappy salesman that barely speaks English and after they buzz you in through the gates; you get tempted of the no credit check and on the 30% down payment only. After you choose the vehicle you want to purchase; the simply have an unlicensed documented worker assist you with the test drive. You take the vehicle on a test drive on Glenoaks blvd and after a couple of blocks and street lights you are asked to return the vehicle back to the dealer. Once you get back and once you can prove you have 30% down payment; they take you to their office. A young girl that seems to be the owner daughter asks you to fill out a simple questionnaire; after you fill in this questionnaire she takes you to her office were she enters your information; during this scope she is text messaging and IMing the accountant (an old man across the office) with your information; she IM's and emails your information; pretending that they are inserting your information through a credit check/database but simply sending your information to their accountant in the other room (they are doing this to make them self's look legit). The accountant or the old man (across the room/that you do not even talk or see); returns a instant message of 24%-35% interest along with your 30% down-payment. After a BS review of your credit check; the girl/finance dept indicates that after a review of your app; you been approved for this term and a term of 30-35% interest not counting of your down payment. Once you approve; you drop the 30% down payment (and lets be clear it has to be cash and a certain % a cashier order; this is how they protect themselves). One the down-payment is made; they ask for 60-120 blank checks to be filled our and signed fur future depositing. Ok now that you have secured the vehicle (auctioned/broken down vehicle) and processed a BS and one-sided/RIPP-OFF/racial contract (the salesman/mine being Jack/Sam) bring the vehicle. They do not even bother washing the vehicle or pumping gas. Being the same nationality as SAM (Persian old salesman/white hair mid 50's60's): he indicated and whispered in my ear that the first thing I should do is to change the oil and the transmission oil ASAP; as most of the vehicles are from auctions and only have had cosmetic work done. So I bought the car (I won't say what model; but the only main models they sale are Mercedes/Bmw/range rovers). Upon the first few weeks; the vehicle was a constant issue and stopped after every vigorous trip; upon calling and calling the dealership; they kept the vehicle for about 1-2 months (no loaner vehicle) until I threatened with legal action and this is when they took the vehicle to a professional that was able to resolve the issue (their mechanic ED/Edwin; the worst and a complete lie to deal with). After 3 years of making full payments on time and constantly taking the vehicle to other mechanics; the vehicle started to act up in such a way that we were done with it and could not afford (please note that the claim full warranty but they do not deliver). Missing payment for about 1 month and about 9 months left they sent a repo company to conduct the tow without one call or notice. The Repo company came to our resident (a nice Hispanic individual with a white repo truck); knocked on our door and took possession of our vehicle by missing one payment. The repo guy which was a third part told us what a bad choice we made with 818statewide (their own contractor); he toid us to empty the vehicle and to take a picture of the odometer because he also claimed 818statewide is so dirty and shody that they will use the vehicle as a loaner. 818statewide is a rippoff company that uses individual with no credi at a high interest rate and sales broken-down vehicles from auction bought from other states knowing that they willl get 30% down payment and an interest rate of 20-30%. And they know as soon as the vehicle brakes down they will recovery the vehicle by a 3rd party repo (charging 1k) knowing that you will not pay for the repair or make the monthly payment (Sam our salesman once said "we sale cars to black; ni#$#$#= african americans and later within 2-3 months recover the vehicle; this is how we make money!! [ same as ED or Edwin their head mechanic] don't believe me; check it out....in a nutshell 818statewide; attract individuals with bad credit and sales high end luxury looking/crappy vehicle at high rates knowning that people/consumer will miss their payments. At the end; they take your down-payment/ all your monthly payments and your vehicle. read more

My wife and I bought a Lexus from them about 18 months ago and paid the loan off about 60 days later . Account at zero and they mailed the title to me . Starting Aug of 2016 they started billing me $24 a month over a year after I paid my loan off . I'm adding this to the list of what scam artists are at this dealership! I purchased a BMW from this place about a month ago. I have been really happy with the car so far. The staff was very friendly and they weren't overly aggressive when I went in to purchase the car. I really appreciated that they took the time to explain everything to me thoroughly and they didn't get frustrated with my 200 questions. my only criticism would be that the washer fluid light came on after two weeks. I spoke to Eddie in the service department and he said come on down and they filled it up for me for free which I really appreciate it. I bought a vehicle from them in 2010, less than 30 days later I was having issues with the electrical system (radio not working properly, LCD screen not turning on...) I called them and they said bring it in. On the way there I hit a pot hole on the 5 fwy (go figure) and the vehicle shuts off. I had no power, car wouldn't start. AAA comes and tows it in and it turns out the wrong battery was placed in the vehicle and that's what caused the car's electrical system to shut down and they said it was my fault and that I had to pay the 50% of the repairs so I got stuck with a bill for $1,200. I filed a "Lemon Law" complaint against them and long story short: I got my $1,200 back, $10,000 (down payment of the vehicle, 1st. payment and insurance policy) and termination of contract from the vehicle. Please take my advice, DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! Save up and buy a car cash instead. I am a cancer survival, grateful for my life but my credit didn't make out so well. I went to statewide for a car, nothing fancy just a basic car. My car began to have problems immediately, the warranty is complete BS because they never fixed the problem. My car is so screwed it actually continues to run AFTER the key is taken out of the ignition! I took it to another mechanic and he said, his words "TAKE IT BACK, THIS CAR IS A PIECE OF JUNK." Addressing only ONE of the 15 problems diagnosed by the independent mechanic with my car will cost me $1500. Please check out the better business bureau (bbb.org) for the numerous complaints on this company pertaining to their deceptive business practices. It's too late for me but not for those of you looking for a car. Just because we have bad credit does not mean we should be ripped off like this! And to those out there having issues with statewide PLEASE PLEASE report them to the better business bureau so that maybe they will forced to clean up their business practices by the state of CA. read more

Initially I was good with this company. I traded in my BMW X5 and purchased a Nissan Altima from their lot. The car looked nice, had some of the items i was looking for seeing as my other vehicles were luxury vehicles. The purpose of this vehicle was to use as the commuter car for all of the sporting activities that my children were involved in. The pricing was right, the trade value was good. I'm satisfied. Financing was easy all is well. Traded the car in on another vehicle about 2 weeks ago. Got the Carfax on the Altima, let's just say this dealer is less than honest and upfront about the condition of some of their vehicles. The vehicle was involved in an accident. That information was never divulged to me as well as some other mechanical issues. I just accepted that and kept it moving. The new dealer sent them the payoff for the vehicle, yet they want to still cash the checks that I left them. Really? With a zero balance? Wow. I made contact with the finance office and that almost made me get a higher case of high blood pressure. I understand to each his own, however, I suggest caution when dealing with this company. You'll need to make sure the I's are dotted and the T's are crossed. Never doing business with this group again. read more
