Even despite the fact that I was about…read more15 min late for my appointment (did not know about the bridge construction going on) Stephen still took me in, and did a great job on my haircut even with the limited time. I am rarely ever content with the results of my haircuts, because I always feel like stylists insensitively cut off too much without talking to me about it first but Stephen was so considerate and professional... not only did he listen to what I wanted, he also made a point to double check that I was okay with the length he was about to take off, before making the cut. It had been awhile since my last trim / cut and my ends were very split and my hair was snarly and damaged from bleaching it several times over the past few months... But thanks to Stephen, it actually feels incredibly soft, the split ends are all gone and it feels thick and healthy... like he actually brought it back to life.... I'm so happy with it. However, I was unable to keep up with dyeing the roots, so I decided to go back to a more natural color- a cool-toned brown. However, my stylist, Abbie ended up dyeing my hair straight up black (even another stylist agreed), which required her to strip the color 2-3 times. Most of this was done in the sink, which also happened to be the most uncomfortable salon sink. Anyways, I find out that Abbie posts about my "before" hair with quite the ratty comment which was completely unnecessary. No wonder she didn't tag me despite asking for my handle. She also failed to mention that she had to strip my hair three times, leaving it in a worse texture than before, despite telling me it wouldn't cause any damage. I was considering returning, but the professionalism is basically non-existent, so I'd rather not. Salon 241 is a better choice if you can spend more $.

When I arrived for my appointment I was very taken with the lovely location, very bright and clean, and greeted like an old friend by Deirdre at the desk. She made me feel comfortable and welcome while I waited for my appointment with Tammy. Tammy greeted me warmly and promptly at my scheduled time. This was by far one of the most painless Brazilian waxes I've ever had in my life. She was quick and professional and made the experience relaxing. My hair didn't hold the perm past the first few days, with some waves. However, Bethuny was able to layer it in such a way that the waves came back up and styled it so that I would get a sense of how to restore the perm. Wow... Pure magic. My hair is as thick and straight as it gets so I didn't think it was possible, but she managed to think her way around it. Everyone complimented my hair, she gave it a lot of volume through the cut. I've also gone in for a free color consultation, which I highly recommend and doesn't hurt. It takes 10-15 minutes. She educated me on a lot of basics of coloring so that we could communicate with it. Bethuny gave me a very clear picture of what I would have to do in order to achieve certain various tones and consulted me on the best decision combinations in order to keep my hair healthy. Not to mention I'm a huge fan of the decor and DIY punk and rockabilly vibes. If only I had the funds, I would definitely go to Glamourama for color. The prices are reasonable, it seems, for the job they do. I've seen their work and am astounded. If I lived closer, I would come for frequent cuts. Certainly for color, you're getting a top notch experience and an amazing dye job for probably a lot cheaper than in New York City or Boston. I've had an overall great experience here.

I sent a contact message checking to see what was available, hoping to find someone good who could help me. Got a message back from Jonathan, asking what I was looking for. I explained my situation to him and he actually stayed after his day was done to fit me in. I wanted to see who he was and his experience, but he wasn't listed on the salon's website, so I googled him and found a review. It was an excellent review and I was so excited it would be someone who has great experience. I get to the salon and Jonathan was finishing up with the young lady before me. He did an amazing job on her hair and I knew I was in the right spot. All I can say is Jonathan knows hair, everything about hair. He did an amazing job coloring and cutting my hair with such precision. I immediately felt very comfortable with Jonathan. He's a great guy, with a heart of gold.
