I worked with Omar at Compumax during my revamp and update of my two computers. I make equipment…read morelast, and this custom built desk top and my DELL laptop are both 13 years old at this point. I wanted to do a complete Windows reinstall on both but just a little way into the process on the desktop and Windows would not install. It turned out that I had a failing hard drive on the desk top and I know that the laptop had been running very slowly for a long while as well. Due to this I decided to upgrade the storage on both machinjes to solid state drives. I bought the SSD for the desk top and brought it back to Omar for the Windows install. There was a slight miscommunication between myself and Omar concerning the Windows version. His associate installed Windows 10 Home, but my licenses are Windows 10 Pro. Omar understood the situation however and since he was in the middle of a very lengthy (two week) data recovery from the old HHD and transfer to a portable SSD, he deeply discounted this work to compensate. In the meantime I had taken the decision to create my own debloated Windows 10 Pro ISO and reinstalled the OS myself which was a better decision overall now that it has a screaming fast SSD. I ran the samne reinstall for my laptop. Both computers were now reset with Windows and Omar was able to recover all the necessary data. It really was a slow and painstaking process copying data from the failing HDD through a dedicated data tranfer machine. In the end, he saved the data from that HDD and treated me right. Do be aware that Omar does pass the store's credit card processing fees on to the customer, however. This is not common practice in most businesses and might be a surprise if you don't notice the sign stating this.

I am giving 2 stars because we had good service for a few years, but in the last 3 years this…read morecompany has been absolutely a pain. This is going to be a long review... sorry. When we first started the service was good and the equipment all worked well. We had a simple system and we lived in a medium sized rural area in Texas, so there was no problem with getting a tech to come to our house when we had an issue. We moved to another house in the same town in Texas, and had another system installed with a few more pieces of equipment. Everything still worked fine, but the thermostat we had installed had issues connecting to the panel. It was still not that big of a deal. Then we moved from Texas to Tennessee. They put our account on a year long moving hold. We now live in a urban area about an hour and a half from any major city. When we called to have the system installed at our new home the time that they had for the tech to come out was at 5 pm on Halloween, so we said ok. The guy came out and installed the panel, and the door lock. He said he could not install the outdoor camera because he did not have the right drill bit. And he could not hook up the doorbell camera because the wires were cut too short. He said he would call me to reschedule another day that he could come back and finish the job. He took the outdoor camera and the doorbell camera with him when he left. He also did not install our door sensors either. A month later when he did not call or come back, I called the company to ask for him to come back and finish the job. They had a hard time trying to schedule a tech because we live so far from where they would be coming from and they have to cross time zones to get to us. When we finally got a date to finish the installation I left work early to be home when he got there. Well nobody ever showed up. I called the company to find out when the tech would be there and they said we do not have an appointment scheduled. When they looked back in the records they said it looked like someone canceled and never told us. By this time I was fed up with them and told them I wanted to cancel my service. They said that I cannot because we were financing the equipment. I told them that I did not even have half of the equipment that I was supposed to have. But in order for them to get those items taken off of our loan they had to send some one out to inspect and make sure we did not have it. Some one finally came out and months later and many phones calls later they finally removed those parts from our loan. After a few months of paying off the loan and paying for a serivce that was not monitoring anything becuse it was still joy fully installed we called to cancel our service. They then told us that we were still under contact, when we were originally told that there was no contract. Long story short, if you live in a bigger city and you need this service, it should be fine, as long ad you never want to cancel, but if you live in urban areas do not bother with this company.

I had to advise the individual that I would contact the police if he didn't leave my property.
