State Farm has a lot of reviews and rates one star! Wow! I thought it was just a bad State Farm Agent that turned me off. I had State Farm for years and years insuring both my home and cars. They gave me a package deal. I had safe drivers discounts too. At work I received a lot of training in money management. My employer wanted to be sure we had enough for retirement. So after having training about savings on car insurance I approached my agent to remove unnecessary coverage. It was at this time things got ugly. I ended up canceling my insurance and going with another company that was much easier on my wallet while still providing the coverage required by law. I wouldn't use them again unless they have changed their ways.

I've been a loyal customer with State Farm for nearly 5 years. I stuck with them, even with rate increases despite having a clean driving record and finally paying off my 5 year old Toyota. I thought it was odd that when I got my latest renewal in September and my car was due to be paid off a month later, that my premium went up. I was involved in a collision that I was not at fault in where another driver backed into me. They called State Farm and neglected to file a claim with All State, their insurance. It has been over a week and State Farm has not had an adjuster contact me to get a recorded statement on what happened. They keep playing phone tag and after finally getting a hold of someone on the team handling my claim, they wanted a brief statement on what happened. I thought I had given that information to them over a week ago after the driver who hit me reported the claim. Apparently, not everyone on their team is on the same page and multiple people need to waste my time getting the same information multiple times. They ignored my requests to be contacted by phone only after 5 pm and by email before that. This is a personal pet peeve of mine, but don't employ people with a distinctive regional accent to do a job that is primarily phone based I couldn't understand their claim team because of their accents. I told them that paying their $500 deductible at this time would be a financial hardship for me and that I wasn't at fault. I have paid thousands to them and feel that I am only useful for them when I don't want them to fulfill their obligation when something happens to me. I don't feel that their process is customer friendly, honest and effective. I feel that they were not on my side as their insured. read more

They will no longer truly conduct an investigation into accidents. They just decide and if you inform them of other evidence, they don't care and dig their heels in even further. Been with them for more than 20 years. Very unhappy and staff un trained in law, understanding and can't answer really basic questions. read more

Sprung a leak in the utility room, floor warped there along with under the wall into a small bathroom. Sheila York aka State Farm came through great. I did some of the cleaning and painting myself so I came out even. State Farm Insurance is money well spent. read more

After being with State Farm for 22 years for my homeowner Insurance. I call to find out why my premium up by $30 this year. They told me it is because of the inflation. I asked her if I want to bring my deductible down to 1000, she said to bring down your deductible, your car I had to be a insured with us. I asked her what would be the difference, after bringing down my deductible how much more do I have to pay on my homeowners Insurance yearly. According to her she said there's no way for her to give me the pricing till you insured car with us. Then I asked this lady Jenny that work for State Farm and she is the office manager for the corporate office number. She tells me I don't have it. I said you work for State Farm insurance company and you are telling me that you don't have the corporate office number to give it to me. She repeated and said no. She does not how to deal with customer service or go a extra mile for a customer. This is not how you treat your customers that been with the company for 22 years. All I ask for is the corporate office number. Which she repeated to say no I don't have it. Thanks for doing busy with you guys. My personal experience I would not recommend State Farm to anyone of you guys. read more

I got hit by a driver with State Farm insurance. They always have at least a twenty minute wait for the claims office, I have been waiting 35 minutes already, I decide to stick it out to see how long it actually takes. Stay away from State Farm. I have Farmer, every time I call my claim agent answers the phone personally or returns my call within an hour. read more

State Farm gives several discounts on your Auto Insurance, but they will not tell you how much for what! It's "Trust us, we are applying your discounts" But who knows? The bi-yearly bill contains the discounts you are getting, but not the amounts. They have included the amounts for decades, but not now!! What are they hiding? There is no way for the customer to even see how they arrived at the total due, or to correct any errors! State Farm says they are "there", but where? Certainly not when rate transparency is needed! read more

Our State Farm agent is in Arkansas (James Kiddy), and we have our insurance through them, as well as our mortgage and both cars financed. We have been customers for many years and have been absolutely THRILLED with this company from day 1. Just last week, a large piece of debris fell from the back of a truck and messed up the front bumper of my brand new Mustang. I made one simple phone call, and the State Farm agent called the body shop with my claim number, and arranged the rental car for me. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and I'm sure we will be lifelong customers. read more

For almost 60 years I have been a State Farm customer. Fortunately, over those years, there have been only a very few claims,. My agent for the past several years retired at the end of 2014. His office was very helpful. With the new agent on board, I began to wonder if State Farm was rewarding agents for denying claims. Instead of all the informative people I have had to deal with in the past, I have been told how costly it would be to my record if I were to apply and urged to handle problems and expenses on my own. Why have insurance? If you are thinking of using State Farm for either auto or home insurance, I'd be very careful., because of my long association and the resulting financial rewards, I am hoping that I can get better service by changing agents.. read more

Been with State Farm for 30+ years. Every time i called my agent I had to call back to make sure my change was done and if it was correct more often than not it was done wrong and I had to have it corrected. Cancelled my policies over a month ago and have not received any kind of statement. I call the agents office and they tell me that my accounts are closed and they cant send me a statement. Call corporate and they transfer me back to agents office. Same answer.... I guess if I owe something I will get a bill eventually. read more

I am here to piggy back what everyone else has went through. I was in an accident in August of this year. The accident wasn't my fault. I was going through my insurance State Farm to handle this. I have a specialty vehicle so I am suppose to take the truck to a place where they can estimate it and fix it. I did that and State farm said that the damage is not from the accident and the estimator says it is. 100%! I have been in 4 accidents in my life and each time the insurance company ( Not State farm ) have always handled it. I told the claim rep ( Tom Jacobs ) what if I drive the truck and I have an accident in the near future that kills many people or myself then they find out the reason why is because the arm bar wasn't fixed. He was like ( whatever ). I am an honest person and I would never try to get over on anyone. Karma is a you know what! The other car involved in the accident was totaled. I suffered a concussion and back pain from the accident. I can't believe they have the audacity to tell me that the damage is not related!! They didn't even have an estimator to look at my truck. How do you know if it is related or not when you didn't even take the time to look at it? The customer service at State Farm is horrible! I will definitely let everyone know the bad experience I've had with this company. I know they could care less. read more

Two years ago some shelving gave way in our garage and computer monitors, tools, and various storage items fell on my car which was parked there. We took it to Caliber Collision at the urgings of our insurance company, State Farm, who messed up the air conditioner, which is nowhere near the hood where most of the items fell, the front passenger side inside door panel, the glove box, the radio, and the motor mounts. Each time we took the car back to get what they messed up repaired, they'd mess up something else. We finally got the insurance company to agree to have my car repaired at a Toyota dealership. Of course, we had to pay an additional deductible, but the car was repaired to our satisfaction. ln the meantime, we had to go through the Greater Better Business Bureau of Dallas to get back our second deductible, as well as the cost of the extended warranty, which we suspected of not being valid anymore. Someone from State Farm called and insulted us for our right to take the car to a reputable place to get it repaired properly because we filed a complaint against Caliber Collision. Since we had little and begrudging help from State Farm, we filed a complaint with the Texas Department of lnsurance against them as well. Our payments jumped up after that, especially on my car. When we asked why the rates jumped up on my car, we were told that it was because my car had been reevaluated to be more expensive so they insured it at a higher rate. Today we transferred our insurance coverage to include our home as well as our two vehicles and were given a much higher rate than the estimate for the vehicles and our house. When we asked why we were told that it was because State Farm put it on my records as having been in two accidents. The two accidents were supposedly when my car was initially damaged from the shelving giving way in our garage, and when we took it to the Toyota dealership to get it properly repaired because Caliber was apparently stealing and harvesting the parts (at that time my car only had 17,000 miles on lt ) and was practically new. We feel that we are being penalized by State Farm because we had to go to another place to have my car properly repaired, which is our right; and that they apparently feel that since they fraudulently put this on my record, that we would have to keep them until they received the monies paid out for the shabby repairs done at Caliber Collision. We have been deceived and lied to by State Farm. We are also victims of fraud as they put fraudulent information-an outright lie, in fact- on my driving record. My car has NEVER been in an accident! State Farm knows that and so does Caliber Collision. They never told me that they put this on my record either, further evidence of fraud. State Farm needs to remove these fraudulent claims from my driving record IMMEDIATELY and compensate us for the excess charges they've made us pay for the last three years. They also need to reimburse us for the difference we had to pay on the new insurance because of their fraudulent charges, as well. They also need to send us a letter of apology and correct the information on my driving record with the state of Texas, along with a check for the correct amount of overcharges we were fraudulently charged for the past three years. Thank you. dollar amount of Loss: $2500 When did this Fraud Happen? August, 2012 Agent's name has been removed. read more

I had State Farm from the time I got my license until I was 32. I never had a claim in that time. Then it happened. I was parked in front of a store and a guy backed into me. He crunched the front of my car pretty good. As it turned out, we were both State Farm customers. My claim was handled and paid for, and then they dropped me. I was very surprised. Because I had been dropped by an insurance company, it was very expensive to get insurance with another company. I will never use State Farm again. read more

WORDS OF WISDOM IF YOU EVER GET INTO AN ACCIDENT (auto or any type) knowing that you are not at fault (no matter how small an incident it is), FIND A WITNESS!!! Stop, don't move your car; get the driver or person next to you to give their contact information, so you can get their testimony vouching your innocent. You don't have to ask the witness to stay at the scene of the accident, and wait for the police, unless they are willing to do so, which would be more beneficial for you. A WITNESS is a powerful thing to have in a court of law, the more the better. Because if you don't the other person (driver) can lie and tell a false story to the police officer, causing a dispute of the incident and give the INSURANCE CO. away to get out of having to pay for your damages. TRUE STORY...IT HAPPENED TO ME... A driver ran a red light and hit my car, was a minor collision, I moved my car into a gas station and did not bother to get a witness. THE OTHER DRIVER LIED TO THE POLICE and stated that he had a green light (A TOTAL LIER), and was supposed to be a Christian. Unable to prove my innocent, the insurance company STATE FARM believed his testimony, even after I asked if I could take a lie detector and see if they could get the videos from the cameras at the corner of Artesia Blvd & Central Ave. STATE FARM/The insurance co. gave an excuse that they do not do lie detector and that they do not have access to the street camera and found that the guilty driver innocent and accused me of "negligent for inattention and disregarding traffic light." THE INSURANCE CO WILL MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR INCOMPETENT JUST TO GET OUT OF THEIR RESPONSIBILITY IN DOING WHAT IS RIGHT to save them money... Do not buy "STATE FARM" insurance, they are as crooked as a thief. STATE FARM IS THE WORST INSURANCE CO. I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE TRUTH!!! Please protect your self from this bad insurance company called "STATE FARM" you may become their next victim. God Bless Everyone. I would not even think about using State Farm for Home Owners insurance again. They certainly are NOT LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR I just had a fire claim where the fire department let my house burn down due to their incompetence and State Farm will not do anything. Everything is your responsibility. You would have to quit your job to get done what they expect you to do. Not to mention the hardest part for me is the mental stress and anxiety you are already under due to the situation. I lost everything and they don't care, you better pull you self together and do what they want or your out. If you think they are going to help YOU ARE WRONG!!! read more

This company spends way to much money on trying to get new clients but then only wants to insure people that they feel will never have a claim. I get mailings from every agent in my area but on the occasions that I have contacted them they don't want to insure anything but the safest bet. Your deceased parents vacant home - no way, a rental mobile home - no way, a rental property with a previous claim - no way. I don't feel this company is a true insurance company because they seem to refuse to accept any risk. read more

So, I got married recently and am on a search for an auto insurance company for my husband and I as we were both on our parents policies and will now be needing to get one together. I had Liberty Mutual and he had State Farm. I got a quote from mine and deemed it too expensive, then I got a quote from Geico (super cheap! Woot!), but he wanted me to check with State Farm as well given that that's what he's a part of already. So, I called the Customer Service line and went through the long process of sharing all of his/my information and yadda yadda, then she tells me that since he already has a policy, that she can't give me a quote and I'll have to call his agent personally. I inform her that that agent is in Dallas, TX, but we now live in Tulsa, OK. So she says that that's a different situation entirely, and instead I need to call the local agent to my area to get a quote... annoying that she can't even give me a quote given that she has all of his information, but okay. So I waited until my location was open, and I called in to chat with that person. His assistant answered, so we started the whole process all over again. Then she says she can't give me a quote (are you serious??) because I have to call HIS agent so he'll release my husbands information to her. THEN I'll have to call MY agent back and do everything all over again! What the heck is wrong with this company??! I just wanted a simple quote to even establish if State Farm is the direction we want to go. They make the process so much of a pain that I'm done with my curiosity. If it's this difficult to get a basic quote, I can't imagine how difficult it'd be if I were to get in an accident or something and need their assistance. Their system needs some adjustments, because this is just ridiculous. I do not recommend this insurance company at all. read more

I would NEVER recommend State Farm to ANYONE I know. Their reps are rude, inconsiderate and the company as a whole does not treat outsiders (those who are not their customers) fairly. The Total Loss Claims Department treated me horribly. Not only were they rude, but they did not treat my claim fairly. They compared my almost brand new car, 29,000 miles to other vehicles hundreds of miles away, with triple the mileage, triple the wear and tear and a lesser model and still gave me less than what these other vehicles were worth. They put myself and my children in a very negative position, by not providing us a fair replacement and ending up in a substandard vehicle when their customer was to blame. A young kid talking on his cell phone while driving and rear-ending me and my two children, totaling my vehicle. read more

we have been customrs with state farm for over 13 yrs with auto and homeowners, we never filed a claim on our homeowners until March of this year for wind and hail damage to our roof. We had our roof inspected in 2010 by a contractor recommended by our agent, he said our roof was in good shape. we have had water spots coming through on our ceilings so we contacted two contractors to inspect, and both explained we have wind and hail damage. We filed a claim in March of this year and State Farm is refusing to pay for the issues with the roof. Very rude and obnoxious employees and claim reps(Wayne Williams and Joey Carrey). Evidentally State Farm does not care about its customers or keeping their business. We recently filed a complaint with the BBB. read more

NOT a Good Neighbor State Farm!!! False Advertising...Fire in townhouse behind me, my unit received major smoke damage per fire department. It was Saturday morning. Called State Farm, received recording saying leave message, message left. No one showed up, no one called, no communication, no one to advise me or help me with what to do next. Fire department offered help and said cannot stay there due to toxins from smoke. Called State Farm again, still no answer, just leave a message. Where was State Farm Saturday, when they were needed???? Why does State Farm choose to NOT respond to its clients? The damage was due to a fire from a unit attached to mine, State Farm will get any money they pay to me from the insurance of the place that caused the fire. So I took a few things, stopped at a grocery store for food, found a motel to stay in for a few days and left. Waiting, calling State Farm, waiting, calling State Farm all day, Saturday and Sunday. Monday called local office and was advised all would be taken care of by claims agent who will be getting in touch with me soon since it happened over the weekend. AGAIN..... THE TV AD LITERALLY SHOWS THEM "POOF" THEY ARE THERE FOR YOU ....FALSE ADVERTISEMENT...TOOK 4 DAYS FOR SOMEONE TO GET BACK TO ME. Tuesday, finally someone returns my call, 1st claim person in another state, gives me claim # and her phone # saying she will take care of everything, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! She tells me they can find a long term place with cooking area so I can buy food at a grocery store and they will take care of repaying me for the cost. Since I had not heard from them I had already arranged to go to my son's apt. until I could move back to my place. She said great, they would reimburse me to pay 1/2 his rent, electric, food, utilities, etc. It would cost them less money than finding another place for me. There was also a lot of confusion with the restoration companies concerning smoke removal. Every time I would call a claim agent, it was always leave a message and wait 2 to 3 days before someone would return my call. When the call was returned I was given different answers, then receive a letter from someone else stating they were now my claims agent. Since l never dealt with any of this and maybe (being in shock from all that was happening), you would expect an insurance company; you have been with for a long time, with multiple policies to work in your best interest. Not State Farm. It has been almost 2 months now, I have received calls and letters from many different claims agents all saying they are now taking the case (all in other states) claiming to be taking care of the claim and requesting emails from me listing item, prices, etc. All have been sent. The last agent that called told me I would be getting a small check to cover the lost food from smoke damage. Then I was told they would not pay for the utilities, electric, etc, I used at my sons, only $2 for every load of wash I did and $1 for every dryer load. Then I receive a letter stating all the things to do when things like this happen....WHERE WAS THIS WHEN IT HAPPENED....WHERE WAS MY AGENT AT THE BEGINNING WITH SOMETHING IN WRITING TO LEAD ME THROUGH. The process is not completed, I wonder what else is possible? The restoration companies have lost some of my clothes, took all the light bulbs out of my lamps (they are missing) then returned a floor lamp broken, missing many household items. Still waiting for payment or replacement of those items including a box with coats and curtains in it that were returned not cleaned, and retaken. I ask when you pay your State Farm insurance for years and years, what would it take for them to be responsible, honest and trustworthy to make things right? read more

I give State Farm a NEGATIVE 5 rating. I have Renters Insurance with State Farm. My apartment building had severe fire damage and I was displaced for 45 days. A friend of mine died in the blaze. 16 apartments were 'red tagged' by the fire department. None of the other residents have had problems with their claims. Dealing with my claims adjuster, John Bankston, has been very frustrating. Instead of trying to help me through this traumatic event, I was informed of everything State Farm would not pay for. Getting paid for the items lost due to the fire, has been a slow and stressful process. I spent hours listing everything I could remember on their Personal Property Inventory Worksheets. I spent hours more, going to the stores where I purchased the items and listing each of their prices. A week after submitting the forms, I called to ask when I would receive payment for my loss. Before payment could be sent, I had to talk to another State Farm employee and supply more information. I was asked about a tube of Neosporin Ointment. "How much was used from the tube and when was it purchased"? I couldn't believe they wanted to only pay for the amount left in the tube. It's not like I can purchase 3/4 of a tube of Neosporin. I was asked about almost every item I had listed. It's sad that this huge insurance company is going to argue with a longtime policyholder about a few dollars. They only paid half of my hotel bill. Actually, I'm still waiting for payment for 20 days at the hotel, that I paid for almost a month ago. Maybe, they should cut back on their TV commercials and stand by their customers. Like a good neighbor, my behind. If I had neighbors like State Farm, I'd move. read more

We have been State Farm customers for probably 40 years+. Up until this month, they have always been great to work with and always took good care of our "problems". Recently, my husband had an accident with his 2004 Cadillac SLR which damaged the hood and left headlight. A hood was located but there is not one left headlight available anywhere in the country. Which renders the car undriveable at night. And, more importantly, not saleable. In my opinion, a car which is not operable at night and is unsaleable is a "Total". State Farm gave him $12,000 for the repairs needed. State Farm refuses to "Total" this car. It was very expensive to buy and now it is worth ZERO. If you have State Farm insurance, I recommend you take another very close look at your policy and make sure they are not going to screw you if you have the same situation. after over 50 years with state farm and no accidents or claims, i got a dui. i rarely drink anything, never at home, not even one beer. i went to reno and had one too many bailey's and coffee unaware i was .09. the chp pulled me over only because they were looking for a car similar to mine, a silver suv. just my luck! i wasn't stopped due to any traffic violation, but because my vehicle was the color they were looking for on busy I-80. for years, i had "superior driver" rating with all the accolades available. i have never been arrested for anything for 73 years until that fateful oversight on my part unaware i was over the legal limit. the "good neighbor" wanted to raise my rate five-fold! one must realize just who was behind the legislation that made driving "under the influence" a windfall for the insurance companies and governmental agencies. the insurance lobby, under the guise of using organizations like madd and other anti concerns, along with local governmental agencies, passed a totally unfair law only to line their pockets with lots and lots of money. they call this "justice". it's not as though i have been an habitual drunk driver. i made an innocent misjudgement at 73 years old since i rarely drink at all. but, the courts care less and treat you as an habitual offender without regard to circumstances. it's all about making more money . . . i had to pay for towing $320.00, $500 to the bail bondsman, the chp $750 for the arresting officer's time ( i thought that's the reason we pay taxes), a $1700.00 lawyer's fee, $900 court fine, and a fee to stay in jail for 19 hours! the jailers were mean and rude treating you like dirt as they relished their power over you. sick! the insurance lobby made certain that a victim filing an sr-22 would be on the hook for paying high insurance premiums for three to four more years. this will make us better drivers apparently. the sr-22 is a step up from being tattooed with numbers on your arm. get an sr-22, and it's now gouge time for governmental agencies, the insurance industry, and a big boost in business for lawyers. totally unfair! i used to have respect for the law, but no longer after suffering this experience. what's happening in america these days? read more

REQUEST TO RE-OPEN COMPLAINT NUMBER: 12-7T23-961 April 8, 2016 Complainant Name: James G. Malmquist and Leona M Malmquist POLICY NUMBER: 12-BE-N272-3 Dear Mr. Mulder; It is to our regret that we feel we have to re-open our complaint against Start Farm because of ultimatums given to us today, 4/8/16 by Mr. Eric Jackman, and we feel, complete lies are being told by our agent Diane Blakely who has now changed her story three times since the beginning. We do recognize State Farm honoring the mistake made by the claim representative in regards to "Loss of Use" commitment and cost of shed preparation. We are also satisfied with State Farm honoring the rental of the shed through the period of restoration of our barn. In addressing Mr. Craig Heidel's response letter of February 16, 2016, to the Idaho Department of Insurance, we have grave concerns! We were so concerned after reading his letter, that I immediately phoned Eric Jackman and told him that the statement made by Mr. Craig Heidel was not true and I wanted it retracted, amended or removed because we would not put up with a lie being put in writing and given the Insurance Board. I told him that State Farm was fully aware that we had built a new barn on our property. I then asked him who told Mr. Heidel to make that untruth statement. He then replied it was Diane Blakely. Erick Jackman replied, "Now Leona do not get so upset, I am here to investigate, and we will get to the bottom of this." Again I trusted he would take care of it. We were even more concerned now because Diane had discussed with me several times both in our home and over the phone recalling the details of when I phoned her to place the insurance on our barn. Never once did she ever indicate that she could not recall ANY of our conversation! In fact she confronted me asking if I recalled the amount of $40,000. She said "I remember the number of $40,000 for something, do you remember that number?" I replied I do not recall any total numbers, Diane, you are probably added together in your head the costs of four of the items that I gave you during our phone call, which adds up to approximately $40,000. After speaking with Eric Jackman, I then phoned Diane Blakely and flat out asked her "Diane, did you really tell State Farm that I never called you to place insurance on the new barn?" Then she replied "No! Now no! That is not what I said! I said I could not recall our conversation. There's a big difference between that! I did not say you did not call, I said I did not recall the conversation!" Now we really became concerned if Diane's wasn't honest enough to tell us to our face why is she now playing with words? She continues to change her story. Then she was asked by Mr. Walters, who was hired by State Farm to review statements and phone records if she recalled that I phoned her and now Diane responds, "No I do not recall that there was a phone call." Each time I confront Diane about the change in her statement of recollection, she plays with mixing words. She said "Mr. Walters was very careful in choosing the way he worded the question. He did not come right out and ask me if the phone call came in, I would have said I did not remember. But, he asked me if I recall if the phone call came in and I said no." Again Diane repeats to me, "I did not say you did not phone me, if Mr. Walters would have asked me if the phone call came in, I would have said I do not remember, not that you did not call!" So now she tells me the phone call may have come in, but she does not remember. WHAT IS THIS NONCENSE and playing around with words? Both my husband and I will never forget the first words out of Diane's mouth when I phoned her to place Insurance on the barn. I said "Hi Diane this Leona Malmquist we have just finished building a new barn on our property and I am calling to place insurance on it." Diane's reply was "oh, that really won't be necessary as you have enough coverage off the extension of your home, and then there is a group of money over here and another group of money over there and when you add them all together there is plenty of funds available to rebuild the barn." I was surprised so I said oh really? And Diane replied again, "yes with everything added together there is plenty of money to rebuild the barn." So I said ok if you think so. I then gave her about four costs of items that I could remember off the top of my head which was the excavating ($12,000), the concrete ($11,500), the trusses ($5,500), and the siding and trim ($10,000) so she would have an idea of some costs. At no time did she ever offer any total numbers to us. At that point we felt she knew what she was talking about so we trusted that Diane had taken care of us. If I had never made the phone call to Diane, how is it that I would know the above information?? We did not even have a copy of our homeowner's policy until after the fire and we did not even know you could i read more

I had an accident (my fault) and I asked my agent' Dan Barrecliff' how bad my premiums would go up. He said since I was accident free for so many years with SF I was due a reduction! State Farm also handles our investments and does a great job for us' even though we're not the Rockefellers. read more

My vehicle was involved in an auto accident on Jan 25th. State Farm offered to tow my vehicle to one of their 'select' body shops for an estimate and possible repair, I agreed. So they towed my car to Tim Murphy's collision in Baltimore, Md. a few days had gone past and I never received a call or message from the body shop nor State Farm on the status of my vehicle. I week later I received my repair estimate via email from State Farm. I knew the vehicle had substantial damage to the right rear so I was extremely worried on the condition of the vehicle and I did not want a quick bandaid job that would jeopardize the safety of myself and my 8 year old child. Soon as I received the estimate I headed down to Tim Murphy since they did not bother to even contact me to relate any message regarding my vehicle to me. I got there and noticed they already had after market parts on my vehicle. I asked them how come no one contacted me to get my approval before proceeding to work on my vehicle and the owner got extremely nasty with me. The police ended up being called to the scene and I requested my vehicle be pulled out that shop. After arguing back and forth with a representative from state farm named "Misty"( who is EXTREMELY rude may I add), I finally was able to get them to see that Tim Murphy was clearly in the wrong for trying to give me a rush job and not even following proper protocol. on State Farm's website it clearly states "Only YOU can authorize repairs to your vehicle". When my car first got to Tim Murphy there were no damages in the interior of the vehicle. When it arrived at the new bodyshop, Chesapeak Collision, there were so many damages in the interior, driver door mirror button was completely gone, driver side seat no longer functioning, dents on the steering wheel emblem ( as if someone literally used a hammer and smashed it), push to start button missing and airbag light on. After leaving the sketchy bodyshop you would think that the nightmare was over? it was only half time. Chesapeak Collision reassured me that my vehicle would be ready in under a month once they got the new estimate. After waiting over two months for my vehicle, remember at this time, State Farm had already stopped paying for my rental car. I was paying out of pocket for my rental car for over a month(over $1,000) because my son needed to be transported to and back from school, basketball practice, piano lessons and I also needed a vehicle for work and other parental duties. Not once did anyone from State Farm call to check on my vehicle or to see how I was able to manage. At this point i had already became furious due to the lack of simple human decency & customer service both the body shop or State Farm were displaying. Every time I would show up at the body shop to check on my vehicle, they would try to give me some run around story on how big of a job it was and how they needed more time. At this point I had no more patience and I was just ready for the situation to be over and done with. After promising me that my vehicle would be ready on Friday 3/22/17, there was another delay. My car needed an alignment and could not be done with out all new tires. I agreed to pay for new tires so that the alignment would be done on the condition on my vehicle being ready the following Monday. I showed Monday to pick up my vehicle and of course it was not ready. I waited 6 hours for my car and when they finally presented it to me, of course the interior damages weren't fixed. I refused to take the vehicle because I did not wait over 2 months for my car to be ready to only find out that it wasn't ready and to still have concerns regarding the safety of the vehicle ( driver car seat & air bag was still not functioning). Now I am waiting for State Farm to send appraiser back out to the shop to examine the additional damages on the vehicle. We are now going into April and I still don't have my car yet. This will surely be my first and LAST experience with State Farm. I can not believe that a company that holds itself with high regards would allow such a catastrophic experience to occur. read more

Can I give negative stars??? One of State Farm's wonderful drivers smashed into my car, but he at first said that there was never an accident, then suddenly once all of the evidence showed that there was an accident, he tried pointing the finger at me, then, back to no accident, he left me a voicemail stating that he would write me a check to fix my car if I would keep the insurance companies out of it, State Farm said that this was just him being a "nice guy", not admitting guilt, yup, innocent folks always offer to pay for someone else's damages. State Farm pretty much tells me that I am up creek without a paddle because he says that no accident ever happened, so, his pain on my car (which is a 2016, we just purchased new, so not much time for damages), the broken lights on his, amazingly matching the damage on my car, AND him leaving me a voicemail offering to pay for the damages, that is not enough, have they ever paid out a claim???? They tell me that I can take State Farm to court to get my car fixed, what a joke! They pretty much all but told me that it is obvious that this guy's story doesn't make sense, but still, I have to waste all of my time and money to get this fixed, I would run far far away from State Farm, there is a reason that they are worth so much money, they are about as dishonest and slimy as their policy holders. You can pay State Farm for years and years, and when the one time finally comes that you need them to do their stinkin job, they will hang you out to dry and laugh all the way to the bank. read more

Be prepared if you are in a wreck with someone is represented by State Farm you might as well get an attorney. I was in a wreck the other driver was liable driving a car that that was insured by state farm but not the owner, my insurance company had to research the vin# to find out if the car had insurance. They paid for my car very fast but when it came to medical bills that were not even willing to pay for all those. I had to have surgery for a dislocated jaw and a tear in the tendon in the jaw. They said because I had TMJ an existing condition that they were not going to pay. I did have TMJ but not a dislocated jaw or a tear in the the tendon. It took two months to get the surgery done (which I was in horrible pain) and after the surgery took a month to get my month open. This is disappointing considering all I had to go through. I was willing to settle for a reasonable amount but not even paying my medical bills. Beware when you are dealing with State Farm. read more

Hate State Farm mutual auto insurance company I am a long time customer of them and Instead of decreasing the premium at renewal, they are keep increasing. It's the worse company to do business with its good when they are paying to others but it sucks what they are charging to us. They have no loyalty with their customers what so ever. On the top they added their own safe and drive app to show you off that by signing up that app you get discount. First of all it's bull shit because they shot up my premium that I am going to give them a call tomorrow about that.....second it's totally a waste of consumer's time. How they tricked us is the job ......they supposed to do because we are paying them a fortune they are asking us to do. They are saving their time and money by asking us to put our precious time and extra money to upload the app and fixing a device ourself to record our mileages, using our Mobil data where ever we are going. It's to much wasting of time to sign up for that damn app by answering stupid security questions that you don't even know that you ever owned those things. Bottom line is there are so many insurance companies out there and all of them are so competitive. We just get lazy some time not to search and compare the price and try to be loyal but I will take a step and be on my toes. Consumer does not need to be loyal, business needs to be loyal in order to gain customers business and satisfaction. We are paying them to provide us service they are not doing it free and we can't let them to take advantage since it's a big competition out there with so much reasonable rates and trust me, there are businesses out there would give you a best rate, best service and satisfaction of mind read more

Robert F James State Farm in Georgia offered me a bundle, but forgot to start my car insurance policy. My car was impounded and I was charged, which they haven't paid me for. I also received a fine from the State because they haven't back dated my policy as they said that they would and I was without coverage for 30 days. I can't change providers because they are quoting high prices due to no coverage for 30 days. They refused to pay fees because I told them that as soon as I could get documentation from them regarding the backdated policy I was going with another provider. They said it was a "catch 22" for them to help me so that I could cancel the insurance. They blamed the State fees on my previous provider, but the State told me the truth. After his agent owned the mistake, the owner Robert F. James called me a liar. I was lied to regarding fees, refused contact numbers for complaints, fined, called a liar, ignored when requesting updates. You name it, this organization has done it to me. I now hate Robert F. James and State Farm more than the State of Georgia, DMV, and Comcast. These organizations look like Chic-fil-a customer service compared to Robert and State Farm. NEVER TRUST THESE PEOPLE! read more

State Farm is Tragically-corrupt, and dishonest. I started doing comparisons online in mid-October. I got a quote of something in the neighborhood of $40 or $50 dollars from State Farm. I called in to the Agent, and She said That'll be $200+ (Almost just Shy of $300.) I said there Seems to be quite a disconnect between what I was Quoted, and what you're Trying to Charge me...and, I don't think there is any way even to Bridge the gap, because you are just too high. She said "Wait a minute, Sir. There seems to be a problem with my Computer system, that is just the numbers that it Autofills-in. I was within milliseconds of hanging-up. We eventually did, however, get it down to $67. She still had all kinds of junk coverages, I had Never asked for, that she threw-in. I was happy (Sorta) with the $67 dollar rate. A few days later, I asked why we had the Uninsured/underinsured coverages on there, If I had never asked for them. I also Asked, why the Property portion was Raised without my consent, on Each of the Cars. She said she will remove the UM, and have it backdated to the Beginning of the policy, as it Should be. I said great, Thanks!! Weeks went by, and I kept asking, about the UM being on there. She said Fine, it has been taken off and I backdated it. That never happened. I called in for weeks, kept asking why it's Still on there. Nothing happened. This, After I was told it was *ALREADY* Removed!! If it is already removed, why, then, is my rate exactly the same? It didn't make sense. She stopped answering my Calls. Such a Simple request, right? Messages to her State Farm portal were Never answered. So, I emailed her repeatedly, over the course of eight weeks, 'No Response'. "Like a good neighbor, state farm is there." I also left Voicemails, which were Never returned. No email was returned. No phone call or message was Returned. Complete Radio Silence. Why, then, is is so Impossible to remove coverages that I had Never Requested, and explicitly said I didn't Want?!? She Constantly Tried to Upsell me. That was before she Stopped talking to me. Constantly. On Everything. She Added Stuff to my Homeowners' policy, Also, without my Permission. Things that I also didn't want, and had never requested. I Figured-out, that I would have Better Luck, in communicating with Another of her Staff. This worked good, for a Little While. They had me send them back these forms to Reject UM (Why, do I even need to Sign these, in the first place?) Okay, sent them back immediately, and she said she's get them over to Underwriting, and they'd remove them from All cars, and once again I was promised, in Writing, that it would be Backdated back to the beginning of the Policy. Well, you guessed it, That never happened, and, Once again, I was Left with Empty Promises. AGAIN; Days turned into Weeks, Weeks Turned into Months. And, I'm back at Calling them up Again and doing My Own Following up... for Them. It turns-out, it was Never applied. Now, my premiums went up by an Astounding 50% ...maybe This is retaliation?!? Why not went down, why went Up?!? A Marked 50% Increase, This, despite the Fact that I *Literally* am not Driving *any* of my Cars, Just in time for the Holidays state farm decides to rip us Off. Great! No Explanation was Given. We believe, She 'deliberately' Sabotaged our Premiums, so that she could get a Hefty Commission. At the Expensive, or her Own customer! Merry Christmas. A second Agent's Office, asked for the Same Forms, and Supposedly Sent them in. STILL** no change, after two months of Fighting this! Wait, after numerous More inquiries, I'm told that they Selectively-applied the UM to Just one Car....my cheapest Car! Ha! How do you Like that? I submitted the Forms for All three cars, at the exact same time, to numerous Agents, and what do I get? A partial decrease, on just One car! What! WHY?!? no backdating, STILL, to Speak of. This makes zero sense, why they would do This. Well, it Does, if you think State Farm is Just out to Scam people for the holidays. I called-in to State Farm, on the 17th of December. The representative that Answered sounded so Incredibly Supremely annoyed that I had bothered her. This, is before I explained any of the Details! She listened to my Complaint, and Said she'd get me Right-over to an Agent who would help me, and we cold, Finally, get some of these Issues resolved. "Click!" Call dropped, with a thud. This, apparently, was Deemed a 'successful' resolution phone call, by State Farm. I was given an opportunity to leave feedback on the Call, after this Disconnection which I previously had Opted-in to. I left all 1-Stars, since the agent Really didn't Help me at all. ...Nobody ever Reached-out to me on this. Merry Christmas To date, State Farm has never Once honored the Terms of all of their written, legal documents. They have not held up oral Promises. Or emails in Writing, from Multiple Agents). We never got any of this promises. Nothing, Just Lies. read more

9-10-2014 YOU ARE THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH State Farm!!!! I have been a loyal customer for almost 10 years, and the way you have treated me during these past 3+ months is DISGUSTING! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES! I was in a horrible accident on May 29th that caused STRUCTURAL damage to my BRAND new vehicle. State Farm was told by the collision shop that was doing my repairs that under Nevada State Law this vehicle has to be TOTALED! State Farm said "WE DONT CARE WHAT THE LAW SAYS AND TO FIX IT!" Now during the repairs we have found out that my vehicle has a bad wire harness and computer and has the possibility of catching on FIRE! Still you harass the collision shop and say " NOW YOU NEED TO BRING IT TO A CAR DEALERSHIP TO GET A SECOND DIAGNOSTICS TEST DONE" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? Do you think this is a GAME?!? So now the harassment continues and the car was towed to a dealership due to the fact that it is not drivable because there is a chance it can catch on FIRE! Now the dealership does the diagnostics test and the results are the SAME! Now not only does the dealership say this car needs to be totaled, but several of YOUR adjusters, my attorney as well as the collision shop has said this REPEATEDLY, but yet you have the audacity to give the green light to have my car torn a part to put in a new wire harness and computer system! OH DID I FORGET TO MENTION THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY PUT IN OVER 10K for the repairs from the initial damages? Now we are at over 17k for the amount of damages, (WHICH IS OVER THE 65% OF THE ACV of the vehicle, by Nevada standards) and not only are you trying to put me back into an unsafe vehicle, but you are treating me as if my peace of mind does not matter and your little slogan of "YOU'RE MORE THAN A POLICY NUMBER" IS BULLCRAP! You have stressed me out to the max with this when this ordeal could have been taken care of in a matter of weeks not MONTHS! I HAVE BEEN IN A CAR RENTAL FOR 3+ MONTHS DUE TO YOU GOING BACK AND FORTH ON WHY MY CAR SHOULD NOT BE TOTALED. I have been harassed by Hertz Rental Car saying that the rental car is missing due to me having it for so long and they were going to have the police come after me and repo the rental car due to your prolonged unnecessary harassing process. GLAD TO SEE THAT YOU LIKE TO VIOLATE THE "INSURANCE FAIR CONDUCT ACT"!!!! YOU HAVE COST ME SO MUCH STRESS AND STRIFE OVER THIS ISSUE AND I WILL TELL ANY AND EVERYONE I KNOW WHAT A HORRIBLE INSURANCE COMPANY YOU ARE AND HOW YOU TREAT YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS! ***UPDATE 9-11-14 State Farm AND JOE HOOKER YOU ARE DISGUSTING PEOPLE! Do you enjoy harassing your customers and treating them like they are yo-yos? Do you enjoy putting them through psychological changes? How dare you call my attorney and dealership telling them at 9:54 am that you are FINALLY going to total my vehicle only to call back at 2:30 pm to say "OH NO ITS NOT GOING TO BE TOTALED BECAUSE WE ARE GOINGTO OPEN A SEPARATE CLAIM FOR THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES" ARE YOU F'ING KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW? This is how you are trying to weasel out of totaling a car by opening another claim? Have you gone BONKERS? What is wrong with you? I guess you just enjoy taking our hard earned money for our premiums only to screw us in the end huh?!? YOU ARE HORRIBLE AND DONT WORRY I WILL BE TAKING THIS TO ALLTHE NEWS CHANNELS HERE IN LAS VEGAS AND WILL BE REPORTING YOU TO THE BBB, FOR YOUR PRACTICES ARE SHADY, YOU JUST LOVE ADDING MORE STRESS TO MY LIFE HUH! YOU ARENT GOING TO STOP UNTIL YOU LAND ME IN THE HOSPITAL FROM ALL THIS STRESS YOU ARE CAUSING ME. I AM NOT A YO-YO, I AM A HUMAN BEING!!! Start acting like a company that cares about their customers instead of caring about YOURSELVES!!! read more

Avoiding Customer Service at all costs. My son was in my truck when hit by someone insured through State Farm. After several days of no contact, my insurance company asked me to contact State Farm directly because they would not return Progressives calls. When I finally reached someone after several attempts and hours on hold, I was informed that State Farm was waiting for a statement from my son and the police report before determining liability. Both statements were lies. There was no police report because this occurred on private property and State Farm made no attempt to contact my son or myself. After taking my sons statement (and another 40+ minutes on hold because they would not give a direct #) They assured my that it was their goal to determine the case as quickly as possible and they would contact me when that was ready. Several more days later, I fought through the hold line again to find that while they had all required information, they had not made a determination yet for unspecified reasons. The representative put me on hold again and finally accepted the liability because their insured driver had stated they had turned into my son who was already traveling in the lane! I used the repair shop they suggested for the estimate, and said I could make it another day or two without a vehicle because they assured me the process would be resolved quickly now that liability had been accepted. After receiving the estimate and hearing that the shop would be unable to make the repairs for over a month, I contacted State Farm again, who said they could pay the shop directly and set up a rental, for a month, if that was what I wanted to do. I said I needed to talk to the shop and see if there was a way to expedite the repair and gave State Farm the information to send a check to me. After talking to the shop, I decided to just have the estimate payed out and try and find a faster repair or a replacement vehicle. I called State Farm again and was told this was no problem and would be handled within 3 business days, as State Farm needed to verify no parts had been ordered by the shop before processing the payment. I canceled the rental as they now said they could not provide a rental if there was not a repair being made (though I have been without a car for almost 2 weeks). After 3 business days with no payment, no phone call, and nothing happening, I called back again and was told that I had never set up the payment, that the check was sent to the repair shop anyway, and that if I wanted to change anything I would have to wait 3 business days to allow State Farm to contact the shop and make sure no parts were ordered. I asked to speak to someone higher up, and was told they would initiate a request and that would take 48 hours. I am on day 17 without a car. State Farm, who has accepted liability, has NEVER contacted me. I am constantly misled, lied to and made to wait longer...as though I might just forget about the broken truck in my driveway as I walk by it on my way to walk wherever I need to go. IF you want to encourage slow, disrespectful, service that lacks basic integrity, you might consider using State Farm. If you ever need to be made whole by them and are not their customer, you should consider a lawyer from the start and save time. Worst insurance experience ever!!! read more

From March 18 to March 25, 2021 Dothan, Alabama had very bad weather which included multiple Tornadoes. My Agent Blake Guy and I have been trying to contact these people with no avail. As of today's date, April 12th, 2021 I still have not heard from neither Charles Smith nor Carey Remo (972)-657-2004. I have called continuously leaving message after message and neither have returned my call. I have even called supervisors, leaving them messages and still no one has bothered to return my call. State Farm also sent out their adjustor from Hancock Claims Consultants who stated that there was a lot of damages to the roof caused by the storms and that shingles are missing. I've gotten them several estimates and informed them that it continued to rain for the past few days, that my roof needed to be tarped. Not once have they given anyone the consent nor approval needed to get the repairs done to my home to prevent further damaging. The is now a foul mold and mildew spell in my home and they still have not sent anyone out to inspect it. Due to my medical conditions which outline asthma, having to use a c-pap and inhaler, the smell of the odor makes me sick to my stomach and interferes with my breathing. Finally they sent out Daniel from Servepro (334)-796-0768 who stated that his sense of smell was off, that his co-workers often asked him how he couldn't smell what everyone else could in a room. He was nonchalant about the smell about the mold and mildew smell within my home. Daniel from Servepro also stated that he was too big to crawl around in the attic to find the source of the smell. He only stood at the top of the stairs and looked around the garage area of the attic. Daniel's only concern was trying to get $800 from me to clean out my vents. Just like State Farm, these people only care about the money coming in. They do not care about what we are paying them to do. State Farm collects plenty of money from me every month from 10 different policies and is about to lose them all. The full repair of my roof and because of their lack of concern which caused the mold and mildew smell, to find the source of the mold and mildew smell and repair it as well. I am attaching the estimates to this complaint. My next step will be to seek legal counselling read more

Do NOT add their Roadside Assistance rider to the policy. Based on my agent's recommendation (Steve Goad), I chose to use State Farm's Roadside Assistance instead of AAA. Recently, my daughter hit a road hazard, that blew out two tires, so she needed a tow. She called State Farm Roadside Assistance thinking that they would tow the car, we would repair the tires and that would be the end of it. They sent Anytime Towing (Knoxville, TN). The driver refused to tow the unless State Farm authorized the tow, claiming that the incident had caused damage to the car. When she called State Farm back, some agent name Bryan refused to authorize the tow unless she opened a collision claim. Since she was stranded in an unsafe part of Knoxville, she had no choice but to open the claim. The tow truck then LEFT HER STRANDED because his contract with State Farm only covered roadside assistance, so State Farm had to call a different tow company. State Farm did not give the second company sufficient information so they send the wrong equipment, resulting in an additional delay getting her off the road. The driver of the second tow company (Western Towing) was exceptionally professional and concerned for my daughter's safety, but told us that he could not help us with roadside assistance because his contract only covered collision incidents. (It seems that State Farm uses its roadside assistance drivers to increase the number of collision claims for minor incidents) If our roadside assistance coverage had been with AAA instead of State Farm, there would not be an at-fault collision on my daughter's insurance record because I would have covered the cost of the two tires and alignment without making a claim and State Farm would never have known about the incident. Given that in the 5 years we have had the coverage, we have called for dead battery 3 times and a lockout 1 time. In all four instances, it took more than two hours to get assistance. In 3 of the 4 instances, I managed to resolve the problem before help arrived. If State Farm is a good neighbor, I'm moving to a new neighborhood! read more

State Farm Claims: Bad Faith in Action My recent experience with State Farm Claims exposes exactly why so many customers are fed up. My body shop repeatedly submitted documentation for additional approval, yet State Farm dragged its feet, waited until the end of the repair process, and refused to send out an estimator when serious damage was discovered under the paint. The adjuster, Mr. Hernandez, was completely intransigent. He ignored the realities of the repair, refused to pay for alignment, and flatly denied a modest $250 charge necessary to get the job done right. Instead, State Farm expected me to pay out-of-pocket. That's not indemnification--that's bad faith insurance practice. This isn't just my story. Reviews show State Farm Claims holding an F rating, and now I understand why. They refuse to pay fair wages to technicians, deny reasonable repair costs, and shift the burden to policyholders who already pay high premiums. The deeper truth is this: State Farm does not make indemnity central. Their goal is to save money for the guys at the top--like their fat president, Jon Farney--who only seems interested in getting fatter in his pocketbook while customers get cheated. It's important to note: I am not criticizing my local agency. This complaint is aimed squarely at the State Farm Claims Department, which seems more concerned with cutting corners than honoring contracts. And here's the bigger picture. The CEO of State Farm, Jon Farney, has donated thousands to the company's political PAC. While there's no evidence tying him directly to MAGA politics, customers deserve to know where leadership's priorities really are--because from the outside, it looks like profit and politics come before people. State Farm Claims has shown me, and many others, that they are not living up to their promises. Customers deserve accountability, not excuses. #StateFarm #BadFaith #InsuranceFraud #CustomerAbuse #AccountabilityNow #StateFarmClaims #InsuranceScam #PolicyholderRights #CorporateGreed #FightBadFaith #InsuranceAbuse #ConsumersDeserveBetter read more

This review is about the parent company Please share this with everyone you know. So here's my short story. I've been with State Farm for all my insurance needs for going on 20 years. In that time period there have been a couple of fender benders but most were not the fault of my family. In October my youngest got his license and promptly was cut off in a parking lot causing him to scrape another car. State Farm revoked his B average good driver discount and raised our insurance immediately instead of waiting until the rating period was over. Then in April Sean's car lost power on a downhill grade causing him to total it (2007 Pontiac G6). We explained the circumstances that caused it and requested their investigative unit check to see if his car SHOULD be on the GM ignition recall. They promised me a full report of the findings. A few weeks later they declared Sean at fault. And did not provide the investigative report. When I complained they finally sent it. After reviewing their report and discovering the magnitude of their investigative incompetence I filed a grievance with State Farm explaining the recall specifics to them as it was clear their investigator did not even read the recall to see what causes power failure. While waiting on them to review my claim the underwriting department informed my agent that effective July 1 we had to drop Sean from all our vehicles. At this point they had not even responded to my rebuttal. Here's where it gets really freaky!!! A few days ago they responded that based on the facts I presented regarding their investigation they have reversed their decision and declared Sean NOT at fault. I immediately contacted my agent to get the underwriting decision reversed. I was just informed that underwriting essentially does not care that the fault was reversed and they are refusing to reverse their decision. So State Farm can kiss my ASS!!! I will drop everything with them effective midnight June 30. They are definitely NOT a good neighbor. Buyer beware!!!!!! Please share this with everyone read more

It was not Jeremy's fault. In general State Farm is a horrible company. Now that my account is closed with State Farm I will say that my husbands truck was stolen, found, and it has taken 3 months to get the account settled. By settled, I mean completely 100% in State Farms favor. The claims handlers were so unhelpful, unintelligent, rude, and just not doing their jobs, EVER. We had zero communication through this entire process and we could never figure out why. My husband and I HAD to call them every other day to ever get any information from them and it was always another step that needed to be done, or that the company wasn't currently working on it. We pay our bill on time every month, have very standard information, and we were always misunderstood, never communicated with, never knew what was happening, and they simply didn't care to help us. You would think they would want to get the 3 month long claim our of their queue's but apparently not. No one ever would just help us. Why in the world would it take 3 months for a claim to get taken care of that was so simple? I have been wanting to get rid of State Farm for the last 2 months but were very afraid they would do something else to screw us over. I canceled today and we couldn't be happier to never work with this company again. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy because they simply DON'T care and are out for profit to the company 100%! I think they are "cheaper" than most companies because they have to make up for how crappy they are in every other aspect. Thanks to them my husbands car has thousands of dollars in damage that State Farm "refused" to believe and we will have to be paying out of pocket for most of it. That is INFURIATING when we have worked so hard to extra "goodies" into this car. State Farm took our monthly payments and ran with it. What a joke! read more

State Farm is by far the worst insurance company there is out there! I work in the car business and going forward will advise all of my customers and Dealers not to purchase this Insurance!!!! And it will not be one customer!! I worked with dealers and customers nationwide!! As part of my job is to provide accurate information to my clients!! Statefarm is a rip off!! They contribute to the auto crimes by not processing their claims in an efficient matter, making it worst to their clients and causing more stress!!! They have unprofessional agents, managers, etc!!! They will keep telling you they have not received your fax!! How long does it take to receive a fax?!! Seconds!!! My vehicle was robbed over 45 days now and I have provided every form they have requested...they still have not made a decision making my life more stressfull!! Every 43 seconds, a car is stolen in the United States, with these statistics how can we trust Statefarm to do their job right and cover what you paid for!!! I wish I had never made the mistake of switching my previous insurance with Mercury to this piece of crap insurance. Oh and they do not use email communication! Hmm very smart from their part!! They do not want any written evidence between them and their clients...there's a lot of liability there. Their excuse for security purposes. If you are smart customer I suggest you start recording all conversations, writing down names and times and proof of everything you sent them. I would not recommend Statefarm to anyone! Got all my family to cancel their policies...eight so far and I will continue to do so...Don't want anyone continue to be part of this insurance rip off! read more

I WAS FINED OVER $150 by the NC DMV! I DO NOT recommend this company to anyone! Very poor customer service, and an absolute disregard for state laws and regulations. Two of my vehicles are registered in NC, I was told by the agent that 'that didn't matter'. In the end I was fined over $150 and threatened to have my tags revoked by the NC DMV due to my agents negligence. Agent INSISTS they did nothing wrong and the vehicles WERE legally insured. I had someone from state farm contact the NC DMV on a conference call with me and the NC DMV was VERY clear that this agent was not licensed to ensure the NC registered vehicles. Agent will not return my calls, and refuses to return my premiums? I was told not to contact my agents office anymore because I was no longer a customer (after returning to Geico after realizing my state farm agent had been collecting premiums on vehicles THEY WERE NOT LEGALLY able to ensure.) I have filed a complaint with State Farm, the BBB as well as with the State Commissioner of Insurance. I would not recommend my agent or State Farm to ANYONE. I filed my complaint with State Farm 3 days ago, and really stressed in that complaint that I was looking at a deadline to get the situation resolved. I have STILL not heard a word from anyone at State Farm and we are going on day 4 since my complaint! Just so the public is aware, my agent was NIck Smith out of urbana, IL. I am appalled that State Farm allows their representatives to do business in such a poor fashion. I demand that my premiums be returned, and I also think that State Farm should be responsible for the fines I have had to pay! read more

NEWS FLASH!!!!! Auto Rescue in Lewisville, Texas is very big with a company called Road-America and this company has one of the biggest contracts with State Farm, GEICO & Allstate. All of Auto Rescue's driver's are sub-contractors there very huge in Michigan. Its very sad that if you want to be a service provider for State farm, GEICO or Allstate and if you own a towing company you have to go thorugh alot of paper work. Towing company's have to 1. Company Liability Insurance. 2. Insurance on every vehicle. 3. State Iicensed. 4. Worker's Comp Insurance. And each driver a towing company has must have a Chauffeur license with a medical certificate with a good driving record with no felonys and must pass a drug test just to name a few. What Auto Rescue does in every state is hire Sub-Contractor's just gives them a phone and there is a reason why Road-America has them for starters there service fee on every call is $20.00 and miles to call is free. Towing companys fee's are $32.00 plus only 10 miles free. But ill tell you this if one of there Sub's end up damageing your car guess what your not getting it fixed. Auto Rescue Sub's dont even have car insurance on there cars half of the time. Its all about the bottom line.....With State Farm, Geico & Allstate! Your better off with AAA they do not hire sub contractor's..... read more

Today, June 18, 2019 at 7:15 pm, called into State Farm 1-844 phone number because the online portal was showing no premium was due for both vehicles. The rep gave the amounts due by the 22nd. My dad and I asked what the normal premiums are. He said he wasn't going to research it. He would send a request over to the agent to provide the info. My dad asked why he couldn't research. He just keep saying he could send a message to the agent. My dad asked to speak to a supervisor. He said he wasn't going to transfer and would not. I got on the phone and told him to please get a supervisor because were not getting anywhere. He still refused and said he was the only one we were going to talk to and if we didn't let him speak he was going to hang up. I told him once again we need a supervisor since he couldn't help, so he claim, find the normal premium balance. He hung up. I called back and got another specialist, same department by the way and she gave the normal monthly premium balance. She said she didn't understand what his problem was. I told her I understood. The man was a straight up jerk. She claim she was the highest official in office and she would handle everything. I don't trust anything State Farm has to say. If I find another insurance company, with the same rates, I will drop State Farm like a bad habit. read more

Prior to being rear-ended, my rear bumper was spotless. Rewind to end of May 2012, on a rainy morning I was rear-ended by a woman insured by State Farm. Because I only have liability coverage, my insurance agent stated I would have to file a claim directly with State Farm. I called customer service and every rep I have spoken to were very nice however they don't truly deliver their services as they claim to (ie: state someone will call when days could go by without a phone call). I made an appointment for an appraisal and was informed by the employee there the photos will be uploaded and sent in for review. Later on someone will contact me with further information. Completely different from what I was informed by the rep that scheduled my appointment. It is now July and I am told by the adjuster that because the damages on my car is inconsistent and the estimator believes there were prior damages on my car, they will not be paying for the damages incurred in May. Again, my rear bumper was spotless. And many people can attest to that. I really hate to make a big deal out of nothing but when you're pointing a finger at me and essentially calling me a liar, WE HAVE A PROBLEM. read more

DO NOT buy from StateFarm!!! Very horrible insurance company. They will collect your money and not pay a penny one claims. I had been StateFarm customer since 2008. I had a sudden water slab leak and there was water all over the kitchen and living room area. Their 24 hour service did not send a plumber right away, instead they said to shut off the main water supply and call any plumber in the morning. I called Roto Rooter and the plumber confirmed that it was a sudden slab leak. They brought machines to dehumidify for 3 weeks and re-routed the pipe. StateFarm never sent an adjuster to my house. They just collected photos from me and plumber and denied the claim saying that this was a slow leak. How can it be a slow leak when there was water all over the floor in within 1 hour? All these years, StateFarm charged me over $23k in premium and this is how I got treated. I cannot imagine how can someone sitting thousands of miles away, never physically visited damaged location, never physically inspected my kitchen leak, completely ignored plumber's report and then denied the claim. My damage/repair was $17,850 which I had to pay out of pocket. What a joke this company is. read more

Horrible Experience with State Farm! #StateFarmFail #PrivacyViolation I can't believe how unprofessional State Farm Fire and Casualty Company has been! They violated Ohio insurance laws by willfully disclosing our personal and private insurance information to an unauthorized third party! This is a HUGE breach of trust! We NEVER gave State Farm any authorization--neither written nor verbal--to share our personal claim info with anyone, especially someone INvolved in the second burglary at our business that led to our total loss. This is absolutely unacceptable! It's shocking that a company like State Farm could just ignore proper standards and procedures like this. We're taking this very seriously and have reported this egregious breach to the Ohio Department of Insurance. An investigation into State Farm's dubious business practices is officially underway! Don't trust your private information with them! #BreachOfTrust #InsuranceNightmare #ProtectYourPrivacy @followers @highlight Min M L Kimble Word on the Street Media Group The HCV Store -Swanton HCV Stores TheMinister ML Kimble Word Ttv Street Word on the Street Talk TV Word on the Street Talk TV read more

Bill is a great guy. No problem with him, and State Farm has covered me on several instances, so they are not totally awful. THE PROBLEM here with insurance companies are the "EXCLUSIONS" they have in the policy. So if your pipes leak and you have to re pipe the house you PAY THE $17,000 for repipe, State Farm gives you $2,500 to restore..OH Well, it saddens me, that they spend BILLIONS on adverstising, and "Like a good Neighbor, State Farm is there." Sorry, ugh, NO THEY ARE NOT THERE, they ARE EXCLUDING your problem, YOU ARE NOT COVERED, and OH THEY WANT TO SELL YOU MORE INSURANCE BTW...IT Sucks, as they dragged me through mud when the pipes burst, and led me to believe it was covered, then they did a FLIP FLOP, "Oh, we don't cover the plumbing repairs, it's excluded." WTF DO I have your insurance for, to get insurance, or FOR YOU TO BE THERE FOR ME. IN THe end INsurance is Bull, a big rip off, and the clients get it in the end. BILL Needs to stop trying to sell us more EXCLUDED COVERAGE AND CHILL OUT. Thanks for listening. TICKED OFF AT MY "EXCLUSIONS." OH, they don't tell you about that, it's in the small print and I can't see that good. LOGAN read more

I filed a lawsuit against State Farm in January 2017. I served them notice a month prior to pay the outstanding medical bills from a single visit I had at a hospital emergency room. This was the result of their insured person running into the back of my car while I was stopped at a light. A police person was present at the time and they were found 100% at fault. After repeated attempts to get State Farm to pay the bills, the hospital sent me to collections ruining 40 years of perfect credit. I have a court date set in April 2017 to require State Farm to pay the bills, while I be given more time to verify that I need no further medical treatment. As a result State Farm has lawyered up to try to intimidate me, lied throughout the year I have been trying to work with them, and has claimed arrogantly to be above insurance and consumer protection laws. When I submitted a complaint to the Oregon and North Carolina Departments of Insurance they refused to follow up, clearly showing their bias towards the insurance industry. I would recommend that you do not conduct any business with State Farm or any of its agents and franchises. read more

I am literally and unashamedly disgusted with State Farm. You NEVER pay your claims whether the person is insured by you or not. I am not, thank God, and never will be. Your claimant hit me but because I happen to know one of the witnesses they are not valid because you think they are biased? What...just because your insured lies you think everyone lies? Great to know how much faith you have in people! GARRETT FROM YOUR TEMPE, AZ OFFICE SHOULD BE FIRED! He is the MOST RUDE AND HORRIBLE person I've ever spoken with in my life! And I'm over 50 so....that's a lot of interactions and he is the WORST and most RUDE and DESPICABLE person I've ever come into contact. I get it though, maybe you hire horrible people so you can just avoid paying any money? DO YOU READ YOUR REVIEWS??? Are you NOT SEEING THAT YOUR CUSTOMERS DESPISE YOU? Just call it quits and close your doors already! And if you're wondering, YES, I would tell you this in person and to your face. I would not hide behind a review. I DID tell you this via email, but so far three days and not one response. Great customer service there, State Farm! (LOL) read more

I would not recommend State Farm to anyone. After a recent encounter with a pothole, the resulting damage require that my tire be replaced. In order to file a claim with the State of West Virginia, a letter stating that tire damage is excluded from your policy was required. However, with State Farm, you are required to file a claim with the insurer, which will be denied, yet held against your claims history record for an item which is not covered. After requesting a copy of the policy (which was furnished) no reference to the exclusion of coverage was indicated. A call to the State Farm 24-hour service continued the incompetence of the organization. The representative was unable to indicate on the 80 page policy declaration where the coverage was excluded. The company is very happy to accept my premium checks every quarter but is also willing to inconvenience me when I need their serviced. My neighbor who has coverage from another company had no problem receiving a letter for her tire replacement, yet State Farm is never there when a longstanding customer requires assistance. read more

State Farm proves to be the epitome of disappointment and betrayal. Despite promptly settling my insurance premium upon notification of a lapse, I found myself in a dire situation mere hours later--engulfed in an accident. Yet, what does State Farm, with its so-called reputation as a "good neighbor," do? They abandon me without a second thought. Their adjuster, Julie Wisdom, embodies callousness, lacking not only empathy but also basic human decency. In contrast, had I remained with Allstate, a company I entrusted for three decades, I would have undoubtedly found solace in their reliable hands. But alas, my move to North Carolina led me to the regrettable decision of switching to State Farm--a choice I now rue. Let this scathing review serve as a beacon of warning to potential customers: beware of entrusting your hard-earned money to a company that forsakes you when you need them the most. State Farm's actions speak volumes about their integrity, or rather, the lack thereof. Save yourselves from the anguish and frustration I endured. read more
