The inspector found several items that needed to be fixed, and Lucas agreed, commented about how good of an inspection it was, and promptly fixed the issues. We were satisfied. Now several months later I asked for an estimate on having gutters replaced. I provided the tenants information and we scheduled the estimate. Lucas never showed up, never called, and now I've called and text him 8+ times without a call back. The best I've gotten is a text saying "I'll call you back" Completely disappointed in his lack of communication and customer service.

Clow went until after 7 pm when it was so dark they could not see what they were doing, and what sounded like a sledgehammer fell off the roof. Their safety practices are also suspect, with inadequate protection to passers-by as they chuck gutters off the roof, straight ladders propped at precarious angles and not level, and plywood boards falling onto the front porch stairs while the residents are taking children down the same stairs. I would be very cautious.

Pricing of the project was very reasonable; I think it was the second-lowest quote we got, but Sawtooth's materials and warranty were better. Jose and his crew did a great job. During the job, every day's end-of-day cleanup was great. The end result looks beautiful, and we're very happy with the way everything went. The high end materials and awesome warranty also add to the satisfaction of a job well done. One hiccup: 2 fascia boards with some minor dry-rot at their ends were supposed to be replaced before the installation of new gutters (new gutters were part of the project). Somehow that fell through the cracks, and the gutters went up over the 2 boards. Darrin quickly took ownership of the issue, and did a great job of repairing/rebuilding the corner where the problem was. Very satisfied with the response to the issue! Suggestion to Sawtooth: if new gutters are in the project, they need to be included in the project scope all the way to the end. That includes final inspection and invoicing. The QA inspection by Nick should have been done AFTER the gutters were installed, not before. The inspection should include both the roof and the gutters, not just the roof. The final invoice should be emailed AFTER the gutters are installed, and all issues are settled.

From the initial bidding process with Nels, I learned more about roof care, maintenance, installation, and science than from any other roofing company. Cascade wasn't the cheapest, but they also weren't the most expensive. Quite frankly, my bid was a couple thousand cheaper than I thought it would be. Nels was honest, forthright, and probably told me more than a salesman should. But I like that...it's called trust. I was comfortable with Nels. Cascade does all work with salaried employees...not subbed out like other roofers. This means the guys on the job have careers, not jobs, and they act like it. No cussing, no loud music, no slacking off. Everybody was on time, and the crew worked their butts off like no skilled craftsmen I'd ever seen before. Contractors get a bad rap, but these guys came through. Clearly they ate Wheaties for breakfast, because these guys worked like champions. I heard a great deal of laughter throughout the day, showing that the workers all have a strong rapport with each other. My roof went on in one day. That's right, a contractor on site at my home for ONE DAY. They cleaned up the work site, and I was left with a great looking home. Oh, and here's a nice perk....I get to pay for a portion of the job with a credit card...with no surcharge...and earn some airline miles!
