I arrived the next day and was told the bike was sold the day i inquired about it.No call, no text. I drove a good distance to get to their store to be told it was sold the day before, a hour before closing. Salesman I spoke with had no clue about anything.The worst customer service in my 45 yrs buying motorcycles. Scale of 1 thru 10 I give them a 1 The energy in that sales department was the worse. I went in to buy my first bike, not knowing my rear from a hole in the ground. And as a general rule, I'm at best, skeptical of all sales people. But Nick made the experience as stress-free as possible. He patiently answered my battery of questions (twice), offered his honest input and was a genuinely nice man. He even offered to help load the bike into the trailer, complete with old, problematic straps (and incorrect, unsolicited advice from a coworker). But he made it happen without a peep of complaint. I have been a life long customer here and so has all my family. Recently I was trying to purchase a ZX6R and they baited me with a bike that was no longer available and the sales person named Justin said if I put money down on this they could hold the bike until I secure the loan I found a co-signer but immediately found another since that one had bounced. Upon immediately getting my co signer verified just had told me that I now only have a day or 2. I expressed I needed a bit more time as my co-signer is out of state but will be back the following weekend They refused to hold the bike any longer even when offering double money down and paying for storage. he then told me the finance manager makes these decisions and sent me to his own voicemail. I called back and tried to get a hold of him but he was no where to be found the sales person who picked up the phone wouldn't send me over to the finance team and told me they don't make those decisions. I have been a life long customer here but this has absolutely ruined my outlook on the company. i had cash in hand to purchase a 2018 Can Am F3. My wife had viewed the motorcycle the day before and she had given me the go ahead that evening to make the purchase the following day. I rode my trade in to the dealership (approx 30 miles) the next afternoon, hoping to complete the deal. They treated me well and made sure the deal went well so I could get tge bike I chose. However, they claimed that their Harley tech went clear through the bike to make sure everything was good to go. If that is the case, then their Harley tech is completely worthless. Nothing but problems shifting since we got it home. Primary oil was a full half quart low, and now I am having to take it to an ACTUAL Harley tech to find out what is wrong. I've only had this bike 3 weeks and shouldn't have to do this. Nick the sales man was very good at negotiating good salesman but horrible dealership him and I went back-and-forth about a bike that has been dropped and needed a fairing for an hour or two about a price. He offered 5000 I came back with a counter offer for 4900 he said he would talk to his boss and get back to me. Come to find out Nick and I were discussing imaginary numbers because his manager couldn't do any less than 5293 this is my second time trying to purchase a bike from state 8 and both times they tried to screw me over on a used bike. I'd highly recommend going straight to the Kawasaki dealer in Elyria. Or anybody else except for State 8 Motorcycles unless you want your time and money to be wasted I wouldn't trust these guys with an oil change even if they got me the number the salesman said. read more

First time buying my bike from a dealership and certainly my last. Told them I was willing to pay cash but was willing to finance if they had a good deal. They presented me with an AWFUL financing option, slipped $600 gap coverage into the bill (bike was only 7k), and then a few weeks later I find they they ran my credit 5 times somehow. Ended up paying cash, reversing the insane GAP charges (still no refund on that a month later), and paid in cash. I'll be buying bikes used from now on. Stay Away, it felt like a scam. read more

Shopping here was the worst experience I ever had. No prices are place on any of the showroom stock so your corralled into talking to a sales man. They rushed me through the process, I was intimidated to not selecting and signing a loan quickly. It was a really irritating experience. I had been eyeing a touring bike (approx. $20k) at State8 Motorcycle in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, so I drove the 55 minutes to see it in person at the dealership. I'm a serious and ready buyer. A few days later, I called to arrange a test drive. Zack at State8 said they do not allow test drives due to liability. Zack explained it was State8's practice for the customer to PURCHASE THE BIKE FIRST. If something was wrong with the bike, the customer could apply for a full refund within 30 days. Are you f*n kidding me?! Who does business like this?? According to Zack, they sell a lot of bikes, and it works for them. Well, good-bye State8. It sounds like my sale is one you don't need or want. purchased an 04 Harley 1200 custom as is. based on the year I was not able to add a warranty. my sales person was nice snd informed me the bike was looked over from top to bottom by certified Harley mechanic. A short time after taking the bike home my new stereo had problems. they had to replace with new. A short time further the radio went out again and had to bring bike yo Harley dealer to fix. short time later battery no good, had to replace. I put the bike in storage at Mad River and just got notified that both tired are 12 years old and need replacement. in addition, back rotor is warped and needs replaced. I went to state 8 at the recommendation of a friend whom accompanied me there. After about 5 minutes of glancing around the showroom, I was surprised no one greeted us or even acknowledged us. Another 5 minutes went by as we walked around, and I had to ask someone to point me in the right direction of what I was looking for. He hastily pointed in a direction, not getting up or putting his phone down. I probably lost any interest from him as soon as I said I was looking for a "entry level bike" (low cost=low commission) Another salesman stopped us and was a little bit more helpful, but he disappeared and never returned. By this time, I was disgusted. We arrived at approx. 4:45 and they happened to close that evening at 6:00 pm. I went into the street motorcycle building of the dealership today (there's a separate off-road building), and was extremely unimpressed with how poorly I was treated. When walking in, 2 other groups of customers were greeted by salesmen, while I was completely ignored. I walked two laps around the showroom, for roughly 10+ minutes, looking at bikes, while I was completely ignored. Numerous salesmen looked at me and never said a word. When I finally turned to leave and was at the door, a salesman approached the door and sloppily stumbled through an attempt to ask if he could help me. I told him that no one talked to me, so I was F'ing leaving, and he stumbled through a shocked response of "Ok...? Have a good day". I truly don't appreciate being ignored by salesmen in dealerships like this, because it's truly insulting, as if they don't think I have money or am not worth their time. Motorcycle dealerships are high pressure sales envorinments; they typically talk to you the second you walk in and ask you numerous other times if they can help you. That's what makes this lack of attention so insulting. Also, their selection of bikes was very limited, and literally EVERY SINGLE BIKE that I went to look at was already sold and had a sticker on it. There was probably only 10 non-Sport Bikes in the whole place that weren't already sold. Literally almost all the cruisers were sold. Such a shame, it reflecte very poorly on the business to have showroom full of sold bikes that you can't purchase, or even sit on for that matter. Definitely won't be back anytime soon. read more

Have been in the market for a Honda F6B for a while now, State8 had three, none to be found in Columbus so I rode my 2006 Goldwing up to the Akron area to check these out. Michael in sales was kind enough to give me directions when I got lost. They were very busy when I arrived so Lawrence stepped in to help me out. Both salesmen were very knowledgeable about the products in stock, and there are tons of bikes! Unfortunately my Goldwing with 96,000 miles on it sprung an oil leak on my ride up, so I couldn't get much in trade but they were honest about what it was worth with a blown gasket and I took the hit. The F6B was a great price with only 5500 miles and I couldn't be happier with the total experience. I had the cash to buy the bike but had to borrow a little after getting less than expected for my trade. Was approved in less than an hour at a rate better than my credit union. I spent the night nearby and the staff even offered me a ride to the motel due to the oil leak on my bike. Highly recommend! read more

I have called them a million times requesting info about a bike before I go, they tell me someone will contact you shortly but nobody ever calls back or emails you. Yes when I 1st entered into the building to look at bikes, sales person came to me right away and showed me around, but was also to busy with everyone else as well! I also told the salesperson what bike I wanted and I knew how great my credit was and knew that I'll be fine on any loan and have leverage for how great my credit score is. So I told the salesperson I want this new bike and would pay full price for it, then I said I wanted 2 jackets, 1 Helmet, and 2 pairs of gloves for free since I'm spending so much money! Keep in mind I wasn't looking at the most expensive stuff. He went to his manager and came back and said no to us! So I feel this place will not give you freebies for how much you spend or anything at all! He didn't even come back with a counter offer, there counter offer was its the last bike on the floor and we are going to hold this over your head in around about way! I'm sorry, but when did State 8 Motorcycles become a money hunger pig and not take care of the customers. Then come to find out all they care about is the money and they don't care about you at all. To them, all you are is a price tag and how much money can we make off these people each and every day!. Now get this kicker. Went to another place and told them what state 8 told me and the offer I put on the table for a new bike and they told me that state 8 was wrong and you spend over 10k for a new bike and not going to give a customer something to make them feel like you cared. When I got to the other place and they told me that, they didn't have the bike I wanted, but the manager came out and told me if he had that bike in the shop, he would right on paper right now that he would give me what I asked for, if I bought a brand new bike. Broke down on a road trip on my 2021 Gold Wing. I was having trouble finding a shop that would mount a tire as I had a large screw in the sidewall that blew out the casing. When I called they said I would need an appointment. I explained my situation and the fact I am out of town and on vacation. I can bring the wheel in. They acted Indifferent and annoyed I was asking for emergency service for a simple tire mount. We are booked solid." I even offered to work something out after-hours--e.g. I will pay the service tech $100 to stick around. And again, the universal answer: "Sorry. Cant do it. Need an appointment. we are booked.." I took it somewhere else but thats not the point. If they have no allotment for any type of rider roadside emergency for a rider in a bind how the heck are they going to treat you after you buy a bike from them ? I do not expect anyone to jump. I can wait around--all day if needed. But they just totally blew me off and said the best they can do is 3-5 days out---for a simple tire mount. read more

I had my eye on a 2007 Honda VTX 1300. Found one on State 8 website, and sent a message. It was answered promptly by Sanjeev Caron, by actual phone call, not a text or email. He was extremely helpful, informative, and professional. We set up a day and time to meet. When I got there, he found me right away and showed me to the bike I requested to look at and NO others. He was very knowledgeable and honest. There was no pressure. Everything went quick as I know a bit about bikes and knew what I wanted so there was no need to sell me on anything, he didnt try to upsell or bait and switch me. He even gave me a decent sized discount and free saddle bags because it was my birthday. I ended up paying less than I expected. Also arranged delivery for me as it is winter. The manager was busy for about 10 or 15 minutes and during that time we had an awesome conversation, I was NOT just left sitting there bored wondering wth was going on. Through the entire process I was well taken care of and never ignored. This review is based on my experience buying the bike and not the bike itself, when the weather breaks and I have more time to ride, I will certainly write another. Took motorcycle in to sell to them had a price agreement with them , the owner low ball offer was insulting not even close to what I was told and agreed to bring the bike out there. I use to buy a sport bike a year...go to motorcycle show at I-X Center, pick out latest, greatest, fastest, bike for that year, ride it all summer, sell it at naturally minimal, then do the same next year. Well in 2008 I had the Kawasaki ZX 14, probably what I consider the greatest bike I ever had...yeah its fast, no need to go there but it is also the easiest, most comfortable bike to ride dare I say SLOW! After my "one year lease" with that bike my wife said why don't you get a Harley? We could ride with all our friends since we were getting older, so I got a 2008 Street Glide and added parts...."when in Rome..." but soon got tired of it and constantly dreamed of that ZX14! Well, took until this year of 2019 to finally sell it and for my 65TH Birthday present went looking for a new ZX 14. So now all these years have past and I lost all my contacts and had to start from scratch to find a new great salesman AND a great dealership. Went to my "usual" locations BUT things have changed, places and sales people not so welcoming as before but as luck would have it I went to State 8 and met Sanjeev Caron, one of the best sales person I have ever met Sanjeev found me a brand new "leftover" 2018 ZX 14 and even negotiated a great price in basically one shot, I couldn't have been more pleased...Happy Birthday to Me! Sanjeev explained the "new" old bike to me fluently and even gave me his number to have WHENEVER I HIM HIM for questions, for which I have called a couple of times and he politely answered what was needed. Never had service like that before. Sanjeev took me around to meet all the people at State 8 and they aslo were wonderful, can't say enough for this initial period with them, looking forward to buying things from them and by all means recommending them and Sanjeev to everyone. If your looking for a motorcycle, go to State 8 and Find Blaine. I went in to look at a sport bike, ended up working with Blaine, he definitely goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is taken care of and follows through even after the purchase is complete. The bike I was looking at had already sold but, he seen a newer cleaner one come in and let me know before it even hit the floor. I was able to buy it hassle free, he was upfront with all costs and didn't hide any information. It was a very friendly, easy process and I couldn't be happier. I did run into an issue a couple weeks in, i just had to talk to Blaine and he made sure I was able to get it into service right away. The service department, also very easy to work with. They were able to diagnose the issue (bad battery) and got it replaced with a very fast turn around. We stopped by the State 8 section and I , being the person looking to go from a Honda Shadow 750 to a larger bike,sat on a few of their bikes. Sanjeev approached very genuinely and helpfully. He answered a few questions and gave me his card. From then to placing the earnest money to contacting our credit union and finally to accepting my trade and handing me the keys(after explaining the details of the bike) he was helpful , kind and genuine. Terrible experience. The salesman we were dealing with was a dick and was trying to sell us a way overpriced bike. All of the bikes are overpriced. He wanted to sell us a used bike with 4500 miles on it that we knew we could've got almost 1500 dollars cheaper so we took our business elsewhere and bought a bike the next day two years newer of the same model and size we wanted for 500 dollars less brand new with 0 miles.
