I dropped off quite a few garments for dry cleaning and a pair of distressed military cargo pants that needed one button in the middle. When I picked up my items, they told me I had an additional eight dollars that I owed, but I couldn't understand why because I had already paid $91 when I dropped the garments off. The lady that did the alterations provided the button that I requested, but then she also added two buttons to the back pockets. I disputed the fee because I didn't ask for those buttons to be added. I specifically said I only wanted one additional button in the middle. Because they did their own thing and then tried to charge me is why I'm giving them three stars. My dry cleaning garments are perfect. read more

Let me start with I was over the moon happy with my dry cleaning experience. The staff were nice, very friendly and supportive. I came In with a stain on my wedding vail. And with my wedding days away I was beginning to spiral. The lady was very attentive with vail and said she would do what she can. HOWEVER I gave them a second item. A wedding mini dress. The tag said it's ment to be dry cleaned. I ask her and she absolutely we can clean it! Fallowing business day, I get the text. My order is ready for pick up.... What do you know the cleaners did it! They got the ink stain out of my vail. With so much happiness and on the verge of crying. I rush off not concerned about the second dress. BECAUSE from the outside, it looks better than ever! Nevertheless, I get home I open the bag still filled with smiles and weight of my shoulders to only notice threads are pulled out of my mini wedding dress. Upon further inspection, I look in side. To my surprise the ENTIRE MIDDLE IS SEPARATED. The boning won't stay in place and twists and slides when I walk. I don't know how a solid stitch becomes undone the way it does unless you CUT IT!!! So I'm left with wedding mini dressless and wondering why! *Was it to steam it? Was to make it easier? Who in the hell rips seams and tells no one!? * Needless to say I'm angry, upset, and crying on my bathroom floor for my expensive dress is ruined days before my wedding. Do what you will with this. I would give the five stars for my vail but I would honestly give one star for my ruined dress. BECAUSE WHO DOES THAT?! I no longer trust this business with my clothes. If you are wondering how much I paid for this experience. I paid $20 and change. At first take my money to save my vail. But $20 too much for a ruining wedding dress. read more

I brought a jacket to this dry cleaner and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The jacket originally cost about $490, plus approximately $120 in alterations, and had only been worn once. It was in good condition when I brought it in for cleaning. Afterward, the seams were pulling apart. Importantly, I did not select the person who examined the jacket. The dry cleaner sent it to their own seamstress, who documented that the seams were pulling apart. When I raised the issue, the owner initially denied responsibility. Later, I was offered compensation based on 80% depreciation, with the condition that the business would keep the jacket. I was also asked to provide the original purchase receipt. I located and provided my Nordstrom receipt as requested, only to later be told that it would not be accepted because the jacket was approximately three years old. For me, the biggest issue is not simply that something went wrong. Accidents can happen. The real test is how a business responds when a customer brings a legitimate concern forward. I did not feel the proposed resolution fairly addressed what happened to the jacket. I paid for the cleaning service and made a genuine effort to resolve the matter directly with the business. I am sharing the details of my experience so other customers can make their own informed decision, particularly when considering where to take clothing that is valuable or difficult to replace. read more

I do all my military uniforms here, along with a couple of my buddies. The quality is always outstanding, the turnaround time is fast, and the staff is professional and reliable. They always make sure everything is done right, and I've never been disappointed. They are honest and up front, they value quality or quantity. Highly recommend to civilian and military. read more

I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years when this was Avondale Cleaners, but since the new ownership, the quality has significantly declined. Pants are not properly pressed, shirts come back unfinished, and items are sometimes returned with stains or not cleaned at all. When I raised these concerns, the manager's response was dismissive and unhelpful. At the same time, prices have nearly doubled, which makes the poor service even more frustrating. I am now looking for a new cleaner, though I understand State 48 Cleaners operates multiple locations in the area. This experience has been very disappointing, and I hope improvements are made. read more

This was the first time using State 48 cleaner, I was very happy with the service, they picked up my bed spread, and delivered to me after they cleaned it they brought it in a plastic bag , that can be used to store it in , when not used on the bed,Kennedy was very nice and helpful, I will use the Avondale location again, thanks to Jesse, the delivery guy! Price was very reasonable ! read more

Less than 0. Brought custom made drapes in for dry cleaning. Measured 109"x50" each panel. Picked them up and hubby hung them. OMG they were 5 in too short and 2" shorter on width. I brought them in invoice with picture of drape and measurements. They said they would try to restretch but instead said to come Pick them up as they couldn't have shrunk that much! I brought in the receipt for the purchase of them showing the measurements. No so sorry or anything- just referred to waiver they made me sign. Spoke with the owner and she was condescending. Almost $400 down the drain and i had to pay $ 40 on top of this! read more

Dry cleaning wash and pressing. Service was on time and at a great price. The staff is wonderful.

Great service from the owner Kennedy and Tabitha. They provide next day service but frequently one the positive side your order is ready early. They have a text messaging system in place to notify you of your order's status. They also have a status displaying the progress of your specific order. They also use an electronic tag to make sure your shirts and pants are tracked. Can't say enough great things about this business read more

Brought my work uniform to get dry cleaned, lady at register said it would be about five days. Pretty cool thing is that they text you when your clothes is ready to be picked up , which was about three days later-early :-) Establishment has a lot of clutter, it's loud, hot and a lot going on... I guess that's what a dry cleaning place should be. Moderately priced, pretty quick, good job overall. read more

There is a reason this place gets such poor reviews. Without a doubt, the single worst dry cleaning experience of my life. The place is filthy, staff is rude and they didn't clean my clothes as I had requested. Then they picked a fight over it. Go somewhere else. Enjoy your life. Don't deal with the aggravation from these bozos. read more

I was really disappointed at how much the pricing had changed in 2 years. A king sized comforter 2 years ago for laundering was $25. Recently dropped off same comforter and now they are charging $40. Did laundering really go up that much?! I felt like I had no other option but to drop it off and pay that price. Do not think I will be using this comforter too much now until I find a more economical deal to clean it. read more

A few weeks ago, I dropped off my clothes to be laundered and dry cleaned. I was inadvertently charged twice. When I picked up the clothes, I explained to the girl at the counter I was overcharged. She told me she was unable to help me as she had no authorization but said she would relay a message to the owner who was scheduled to return back to work the next day at 8:00am. She also gave me a business card so that I had the information in case I needed it. That evening I received a telephone call from the owner. She said she verified I was overcharged and returned the money to me. The next day the money was in my account. Great Customer Service!!! For this reason, and the fact they do a great job with my dry cleaning, I will continue to use them under this new ownership!!! read more

Absolutely awful. Took in some very important clothing to be cleaned and pressed, and I got one item back with a burn and tear. Took them back in only to be told that there was absolutely no way it was them. For reference, I had purchased pants and taken them in not even a day afterward; there is no way that I was able to BURN them. Staff was very condescending and hostile, especially a heavy set lady who seemed to be trying to intimidate. A day after I took the pants back, I was told they could give me STORE CREDIT for the damages. After I informed them there was absolutely no way I was accepting that, they said they could offer cash. I accepted the cash, but apparently this was not cash for the damages. No, they decided that they were buying the pants from me. I was not informed of this beforehand, and when I came in to ask about the pants they demanded I give them the cash back for them. DO NOT BRING YOUR CHERISHED ITEMS HERE. IF THEY ARE DAMAGED THEN THEY WILL DENY IT WAS THEM, THEN ATTEMPT TO BUY YOU WITH STORE CREDIT. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THE STORE CREDIT THEY WILL KEEP YOUR ITEMS HOSTAGE UNTIL YOU PAY THEM FOR THEM. Store credit does NOT harm their business at all, and you are further putting your items at risk. I would stear clear of this place if you can; awful experience and I will not be coming back. read more

Good work and great turn around. Very clean business. Polite staff. Parking out front of business.

Haven't had to use a dry cleaners in years. Then I got a job that wanted pressed blouses. Ok so after using a few different cleaners and not liking them, I found Avondale cleaners. I really like them. The employees are friendly Anna happy to get your business. They run their cleaners as I remember cleaners as a kid. That button the top button, skip a button and button the next button. A paper then gets slid over the top of the blouses and then the plastic see-thru bag over all that. Good job!! read more

I was bringing my work uniform here for about 6 months. This dry cleaners kept ruining my zipper and it needed to be replaced. The 3rd time the owner said it's not their fault because they don't press the zipper, it's only steamed. I went here because of the price. $3.50 for shirt and $3.50 for pants. After the 3rd time the owner said she would fix my shirt but I needed to find a new dry cleaner. I picked up my shirt today and all they did to the zipper was wax it, not even replace the zipper. This company are rude and unbelievable. I sure will pass it along for no one to go there. I know a lot of late enforcement and I will tell them NOT TO USE THEM. read more

I dropped a white comforter and 2 pillow cases off there to get dry cleaned. They said it would take a week which seemed like a while but I was convinced it would be worth it so I waited. I pick everything up a week later and nothing is white anymore -- the comforter and pillow cases look like an off brown to me now and the ends of the comforter are all rolled and messed up. Honestly I could have just threw it in the washer and did a better job at home. I'm frustrated i paid $41 for a very expensive comforter to now be ruined. I'll never be going back here. read more

STAY AWAY!!! Please learn from me it took the 3 issues for me to finally realize this place is a damn disaster. 1st issue: they lost my moms comforter she brought in for cleaning and they swear up and down she picked it up but OBVIOUSLY she didn't and they lost it. This was over 3 years ago. So whatever we let that go(since they're down the street from our house and it's convenient and prices are reasonable) 2nd issue: I dropped a maternity dress off to be pressed. They told me it would be ready in 3 days at 6 pm. Perfect. I went to pick it up on the day they said it would be ready and it's sitting in the same spot I dropped it off in NOT pressed. The owner (Chinese lady) was looking for it and finally realized they NEVER did it. Her explanation "sorry we forgot." I asked how do you forget to do something? And she quickly went to the back to do it. So here I am standing in this hot ass place for 20 min. No discount, nothing. 3rd issue: they hemmed my moms pants and made one leg longer then the other! Then have nerve to complain about it. Like it's your fault! When are you guys going to take responsibility for your issues and provide better customer service?! This place is god awful. You definitely get what you pay for: shitty service, horrible employees, lost items, or items not even done. Go somewhere else and save yourself the headache. read more

DO NOT TAKE VALUABLE ITEMS. The attitudes, the dishonesty, the disrespect, the lack of accountability, and the lack of care and empathy for others belongings was mind blowing. I don't know how a business expects to stay open . I would never recommend their service to anyone , especially anything regarding valuable clothing items. I took my wedding dress here to be cleaned for $200 and they completely destroyed the jeweled belt around the waist. I noticed it walking out to my car, nobody said a word until I walked back in and told them it was broken, and then Rather than apologizing They said that the belt was loose and already missing pieces when I brought it in... absolutely lying and placing the blame on me; I took pictures before dropping it off thank god. Then they said their seamstress could "fix it for me." I come back and the "fixed" belt was a disaster and falling apart. The owner offered to "buy the missing jewels" if that's what I wanted or replace the belt (after implying the quality of it all to be very cheap). I decide to re-purchase the original belt ($147 from the bridal company) and to have them refund us for it all as I didn't want to change a single thing about the dress, but I decided to use our own seamstress because the work they presented on the "fixed" belt was not convincing at all. I brought in the receipts and the owner was fine refunding me the belt cost but was extremely hesitant refunding me for the actual money I paid them to take care of and clean the dress. After arguing and feeling completely disrespected and frustrated they did refund us. read more

I love Avondale cleaners! I've brought my husbands suits & my sisters wedding dress here & it's wonderful. 12/10 would recommend!!

BE WARN! going to this place you will receive the service they want to give you NOT what you NEED! How is this place still open for business I ask myself, where the customer service is minuscule at best, HORRIBLE!, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE I visited this store on 04/29/2017 to have my 1 week old dress dry-cleaned and pressed as it was originally The store owner told me and I quote: I'm not going to spend the time pleating this dress, I can iron it and that's about it WHAT! i thought to myself - This of course led to an unpleasant discussion where the store owner became very defensive, and what's worst is that while this conversation was going on there were a line of customers complaining that their items are missing and the staff couldn't find them, the ceiling of the store was in disarray with peeling particles falling on us all- Case and point -This place needs to be shut down. Will NEVER visit this place again read more

Dropped off a vintage tweed jacket to be cleaned. When I picked it up the jacket is now missing a front button. I brought it back hoping they would do something to make it right, and the front lady told me it was my fault for not telling them it was "loose," when it wasn't when I dropped it off, and kept giving reasons for why they are not liable to fix or refund. read more

I'm an attorney, so I do not professionally dry clean often, as I have a lot of suits that I wear on a regular basis. Most of the time I just Dryel my suits and call it a day, then get them professionally dry cleaned a few times a year to save costs. I also have three cats, and somehow or another, cat marking ended up on two, four hundred dollar suits. I dryel'ed them, hoping that would fix it. It did not. It made the situation significantly worse. So I took them here to the cleaners hoping they could be salvaged. Lawyer though I may be, suits are expensive! I gave them the four pieces in the dryel bag and told them to throw away the bag (and use gloves! Gross). If the suits could be clean, I don't mind buying another dryel bag. I was told it would be done by Friday at 6pm. I came in on Saturday, my suits were ready to go. Not only did they save all four pieces, but they cleaned the dryel bag. No cat smell! My total bill was $15.82, for four pieces + a bag I told them to throw away. I'm pretty impressed, but it seems like other people have not had good experiences. I came home and felt like I should put in my two cents. Would recommend, and would visit again (I'm from out of town but my parents live nearby). read more

We have been using Avondale Cleaners infrequently for a while now. Prices are a bit high but we were satisfied until recently when the cleaner miscounted our pieces and quoted $17 for a suit, then tried to charge $8 extra for a single vest. He agreed to charge the original price, but he removed the vest from our bag and refused to give it back until we paid him extra. We will not be using this cleaner again. read more

I frequently come here to have school patches sewn onto my son's shirts, as he wears a uniform. Avondale Cleaners always does an outstanding job of removing the patches from the outgrown shirts, and sewing them onto the new shirts. The owners of this localy owned cleaners are always friendly and remember your name. Good prices as well.

Prices are reasonable, so for this they get the one star, but they really deserve ZERO! Took some linen drapes to get dry cleaned and upon returning home after they were cleaned, I discovered a huge hole AND they shrunk!!! Needless to say, these can no longer be used. When I went to back to the cleaner's, I approached the woman owner first, who told me she could not speak to me about this and that only her husband could handle this situation. I returned another day to speak with the husband and he told me I should be speaking to his wife because she handles these types of issues! When I put my foot down and said I would not leave until he rectified this for me, he simply stated that I could not prove my drapes were damaged at the cleaner's, therefore, nothing would be done. Awful place, that husband and wife duo is running quite the scam! STAY AWAY!!! read more
