TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO LOOK PERFECT!! I went to pre grad in Eau Claire,my roomate(whos from Eau Claire,WI) told me that it was the only place to go to get your hair done...I trusted her,her hair always looked great. Back then,she said to go to(Carmen)who isn't there anymore. My husband is from the Eau Claire area & we thought it be best to get married in the city where we met. I was nervous about trying someone new for the day we were to get married espicially since I had'nt been there in years.We have been living in Chicago,ILL for years & Im picky. When I went to visit his family for a few days & also thought it be best to make appointments at different salons,on different days(in Eau Claire,WI)with different hairstylists,so i can test their abilities on the style I wanted for my wedding. I wanted to make sure that my style not only looked good when I left but also still looked great by midnight. I found the stylist at Starr Sisters. I booked my whole wedding party. I had "Emily",but all the other girls there did a great job also! No complaints! It took time to do my style,but it was perfect!! It stayed all day&all night. When she was done,she even had me shake my head as hard as I could,to make sure my style would look great no matter what!! It even kept its shape the next morning!! I was so happy with the pictures my guests had of me,later in the night. I did'nt need to ajust it once! Trust me!!! If you want you hair to look like you just came out of a magizine...go there!!! I had tried three other salons in that area & no one could compare to the quality I & my bridemaids had! Its worth the money. I can't put a price on what makes me feel pretty. All my pictures look great,no matter what angle or how late in the evening it was. I was very disappointed with my experience. I will never go back and I will tell everyone NOT to go there. I was to get a STYLE for my sister's wedding. I unfortunately was running late due to construction and wrong directions. I called my sister and asked if they would shill have time to do the STYLE if not would find some place else. They said they had the time. So I got there and when the stylist sidney asked what I wanted I said what ever she could get done. I was to get a STYLE at $25.00 and instead she did and updo which cost me $50.00. I had no time to argue at that time and figured I could call and complain later as my sister was getting married in a few hours. I left not satisfied with what it looked like. I got to the site where my sister was getting married and after 15 minutes my hair fell out on top of not getting what I wanted. So I spent and 1 1/2hours redoing my hair. I called and spoke with the manager patty and asked for a refund or credit of some sort and was told that she had to ask the boss. I didn't get a call back after a week so I called again. she still hadn't talked with the boss and then a few days later finally called and told me they don't do any refunds for updo's. Patty said she would talk to the stylist sidney to see if she would give me some sort of refund and...to my surprise I haven't heard back in 3 weeks it is now 9/30/08. Go figure - I wish I would've read some of these other comments before I went there. But too late now but I will try to warn as many people as I can at the rude, unpleasant, crabby, selfish salon and staff at Starr Sister's in Eau Claire. I've lived here ten plus years and it's taken me a long time to find a place that I consistantly get a good cut. They've accomodated me when I had a specific idea all the way to "I need something.... different". Everyone is jealous of my color when I get it done there. Anywhere worth it's salt will charge a lot for a color process but I feel I'm getting my money's worth every time. On top of that, all I have to do is call and ask if Emily has time to trim my bangs and I can usually get in that day. The staff is fun, friendly and the owner knows me and is always happy to say hi. If I feel I need a treat, it's always the place to go to feel pampered. read more

This place was horrible. The worst haircut that I have ever received. I knew that I shouldn't have taken a chance at this place... whatever you do, don't get your hair cut here! I asked for a trim of my bangs and my entire hair... Instead I got a totally new SHORT hair-do along with bangs that have an inch chunk missing from them. Its a problem that my hair's short since I am growing it out and now I can't even fit it into a ponytail. Also, one side of my hair looks totally different then the other. I highly suggest not coming here, unless you want the horrible haircut that I was lucky enough to get! read more

An amazing place to be! I have hair that is so long I can sit on it. Just barely but I can.. They managed to give me an up-do that was beautiful and it didn't make me look like I have a mountain of hair on my head. Best of all . It stayed up all night, with no pain! I have had my hear done there many times from cuts to highlights, and I always get complements when I get it done there.. else where.. no one notices I've gotten something done. I recently visited Starr's Sister Salon for the first time and would definitely make the trip from Minneapolis back to Eau Claire to get my hair cut again. The environment is very welcoming, there was even a puppy when I went in! They were able to fit me in at an earlier time than my scheduled appointment, which was one of my requests. On top of that, the appointment was the perfect amount of time and I felt very comfortable with my stylist, Elle. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing spot to get their hair cut! read more

I have gone here for the past 2 years (since a place in Menomonie screwed my hair up and charged me $140) and I love it! The ladies know what they are doing! I love the original artwork on the walls and the smell of Aveda products in the air. Plus you won't pay an arm and a leg. read more
