I've come here consistently for almost 4 years now. The service is hit and miss. I have seen Josie a couple times and a couple other stylists and I'm usually pretty happy with my hair. But the owner is obnoxious and loud and very sure of herself in an arrogant way. I asked at my last appointment where Josie was and they wouldn't tell me. After searching everywhere on social media, I found Josie across the street. How do you not know your old stylist is across the street from you? I felt that was calculated. No fun. read more

One of my best experiences at a hair salon!! I was greeted right away when I walked in and offered a drink. Emily did my hair- and very well to say the least! The appointment consisted of a relaxing neck and shoulder massage, hair wash, cut and style! She used some very nice quality and smelling product and gave me a very nice trim. Overpriced. I went and had my hair colored by Estilo about a month and a half ago. The color wasn't quite right, but I was overall happy with it and the stylists were nice too. When it was said and done, I paid $330 for pastel purple hair. This was my first time having my hair colored professionally and I thought $100 per hour was normal... it's not. I GREATLY over paid for my hair when it would have been about $100 total at another professional salon. Like I said, the stylists are nice, but do NOT get your hair colored there. You will pay WAY over what it should cost. read more

I took my daughter there for her prom. My daughter had booked appointment online requesting a shampoo and style for the Prom. We get there and she was informed that she should have told them she had naturally curly hair. They did not shampoo her hair because she had just washed it that morning at home. She liked her stylist but another stylist a few chairs away told her that she needs to charge her extra because it was going to take longer than the 1/2 hour they booked her for. I feel that was rude to say in front of a whole room of people and in front of a 16 year old that was excited for her big day. I had expected to pay for a prom style, which apparently an updo is not a style. When I called back to complain they said the manager would call me. This occurred on a Saturday, today is Wednesday. I have not received any phone calls. Not recommending this place to anyone. read more

I've had my hair cut at Estilo Salon twice and I will continue to go every 6-8 weeks. The staff is very friendly and they do amazing work. I'm letting my hair grow longer, and my stylist gave me tips and ideas for keeping it smooth and silky. The Aveda products rock! And, my very favorite part, you get a neck and head massage before every haircut. read more

The staff seems rather upbeat and friendly for the most part; however, our experience with the salon was not all that great. If you have "ethnic" hair or a thicker grade of hair, I would recommend going elsewhere for service. If a mistake is made in the style that you want, be prepared to pay again to have it corrected...My impression is that the owner is more dollar conscience vs. servicing the client. Unfortunately, my 13 y/o daughter's hair is a tangled mess after her visit today, so we will not be returning to this salon. I am rather disappointed and felt the owner could have handled the situation a little better, but I understand it's business. This has been a lesson learned. :-) read more

My cut from Carrie has been great she's excellent however, receptionist and the rest of the staff really needs training on good customer service. It's never consistent. At first the staff is very welcoming but once they see you keep coming back, as the previous review says, some aren't friendly unless you're a close friend or relative. They need to watch out since there's a new aveda concept salon that seems very upscale then Estilo right downtown in Eau Claire. read more

After going to another hair stylist for several years I was hesitant to try someone new because my hair is a touchy thing for me. I hadn't been blown away by my previous hair stylist for a while so I was looking for something new. And then I met Marie. My first experience at Estilo was amazing. The salon is neat and clean. You're always greeted with a refreshment and a smile. Marie takes time to listen to what you want and tweak it just the way you like it. The other stylists are super friendly and always make you feel welcome. I have continued to go to her and will continue! Estilo is an awesome salon. It's unique and relaxing. If you are searching for a great new cut, color, or brow wax this is your place! I always have a conditioning treatment added in and it does wonders. After hearing about all the rave reviews I was more than excited to get my hair cut at Estilo. I was greeted with a choice of refreshement and a head and neck massage. I know these are the type of services "real" salons provide, but at Estilo it seemed a little forced and awkward. Anyway I came in not really having an idea of what I wanted and was looking forward to consulting with my stylist. She did not provide much feedback and after a couple of minutes started on my hair. I was very surprised at the lack of conversation. Normally I am annoyed with stylists who talk too much, but mine hardly converse. I had to start some sort of conversation because the silence was awkward. She was nice in retouching my hair when I asked and made comments about it (different lenghts, add more layers), but the look on her face said otherwise. At one point I was the only customer in the salon with 5 workers. My stylist, instead of focusing on me, ignored me to converse with them pretty much the whole time. I just didn't feel comfortable. I left with a hair cut that was just meh, and one I can get at Fantasic Sams. Not very impressed and not coming back. read more
