Ironically, I was actually planning to leave this company a five-star review. My interactions with them were pleasant, and they came across as friendly and professional. That changed when I was forwarded their report. Along with it, I inadvertently received internal communication that I was clearly not intended to see. In that communication, the company president wrote, "You know homeowners, when it is their responsibility, the story takes on a life of its own." I was genuinely shocked to read that, especially coming from the president of the company. As a homeowner simply trying to determine why water was entering my home, it completely changed my perception of how my concerns were being viewed. Because I was already undergoing interior water mitigation, I hired my own contractor at my own expense to perform controlled water testing. The testing identified the source of the water intrusion and ruled out the window itself as the cause. The findings did not align with the assumptions reflected in the president's internal communication. Homeowners place a great deal of trust in companies based on their reputation and reviews. My experience reminded me that what customers see publicly may not always reflect the conversations taking place privately. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. Professionalism is measured not only by how a company speaks to its customers, but also by how it speaks about them when it believes they are not listening.

No hidden fees after work was complete even though they've had to do a few things beyond what was asked. In the end insurance also wanted a few changes and Rafael's team quickly responded and worked it out with insurance and with the tenant's schedule as to not disturb them too much. On another project where the roof had already been replaced by another roofer, we were experiencing problems and the other roofer denied any responsibility in the leaks. I asked Rafael to stop by just to inspect with no promise to hire. He sent me detailed report on what had gone wrong which then forced the other roofer to come back and repair at no cost. Despite the many 5 star reviews, we had a pretty awful experience working with JP Exteriors. It…read morestarted when we accepted a bid to replace our entire house with Andersen 100 windows. We signed the contract and put a deposit for half the entire amount. After we signed the contract and put in our half deposit, we were informed that 2 of our windows are arched and Andersen 100 doesn't make arched windows. They said we could replace our front of the house windows with Andersen 400 or Simonton. Simonton is supposedly a less expensive window than Andersen's 100 series. But, they quoted us a higher price to replace the front windows with Simonton than we were quoted for the same windows in Andersen 100. We ended up ordering Simonton Windows with grids for our entire house. We had already paid ($15,000) from our original contract and we were locked in with JP Exteriors. On window installation day, we noticed that there was one window at the front of the house missing a horizontal grid. They let us know that they could get us a "great price" to replace the window that we had already paid for with the proper grid. They also left several small projects unfinished including painting the trim around 2 windows, filling interiors holes around 3 windows, fixing an interior window sill that was damaged during window installation. Ultimately, the window that was missing a horizontal grid was replaced at no additional cost to us and the remaining unfinished items were all competed in a satisfactory manner. However the replaced window that was missing a horizontal grid has now been replaced and the vertical grids on the top window are not lined up with the vertical grids on the bottom windows (See photos below.) It looks terrible and is at the front of our house. We wanted to love JP Exteriors based on their 5 star reviews, but unfortunately, we have had a 1 star experience. Update: They have said that they will fix the window so that the grids line up. If this happens, that will be good.

They cleaned up in the end, and we also have a warranty to boot. He's born and raised in the LBJ area, and has roofed his whole life. He's not going anywhere, and his reputation is important to him.
