I took the truck to a different shop and it cost me a additional 400 dollars to repair. He plays the good guy. But is a liar and a thief. I don't know how this business is still running. I went in for water pump for my windshield which was less than $40 and then the owner convinced me that I needed breaks all together for a whopping $400. My breaks they installed scream and my "new" water pump still doesn't work. I brought it back and they were rude and said "oh it was a fuse lose on the pump there it's fixed now okay?? And new brakes are squeaky" But no I took it to another mechanic and they said the brakes they charged so much for were cheap and the water pump was installed incorrect for my vehicle!! The owner at Starr was nice at first and I trusted him. I even told him I didn't have the money because I was to broke to even afford food when the pandemic started and my husband and I lost our jobs.l so I couldn't afford the $400 and just wanted a new water pump, but like I said he snake tongued me into making $90 payments. Do not trust them with your car! Shahab talks a big game about how great they are and how trustworthy they are. He doesn't do the work himself, he has two guys in the back that have dubious mechanical skills at best. I didn't see any ASE certificates anywhere! To be honest I missed all the red flags before I left my car and agreed to do the work here. They didn't fix my oil leak and I paid almost $700. I returned a few days later because the leak was worse and I started leaving huge oil puddles everywhere I parked. Shahab and his guys first swore that it could not possibly be their work and I had developed a new leak. I got a second opinion and the other mechanic confirmed that the gasket Starr replaced had failed. They reluctantly agreed to fix the work, they had it for a whole day and I got it home and the leak was still there and now my car smelled like burned rubber and smoked from the engine. Concerned I went to a different shop and had it checked. They confirmed that Starr has used cheap silicone instead of the gasket I was charged for. The car was smoking because the silicone wasn't rated for heat and it was melting everywhere. The other shop fix it and my leak is gone, no smoke and no smell!!! Now I'm out hundreds for now reason. My engine compartment is also missing a bunch of bolts since I took my car to Starr. Learn from me and don't come to this place, they do sub par work and they will cause damage to your car. read more

Thank you!!! Shahab. For saving me thousands of dollars on repairs that the Hyundai dealership was quoting to fix my Elantra. They wanted to replace my engine for $6k. They said metal shavings in oil but there was none. Shahab and his team took the time to diagnose the problem with my Elantra and repair the damage which was so so minor for a whole lot of less out of pocket cost for me. There wss a dtripped alternator bolt which wss banging around and destroyed the motor mount over time. He even got my car towed from Sage Hyundai in Los Angeles to his shop in Chino. I understand that people have had bad luck with auto mechanics. However, I feel that Starr Auto Care definitely took great care of my car. I just so happened to have my car break down on me while I was driving home from work, so I had to pull over somewhere and when I finally got to park, it completely died on me. I went to Starr to see if I could get some help and Shahab was there to help me right away. He initially just wanted to check out my car to see if there was a quick fix to get it back running - unfortunately, nothing was working. We had no choice but to have them look at it in the morning. I was told of the diagnostics costs, etc. Shahab made sure that nothing was left unsaid. After that, they pushed my car inside their garage before closing to keep it safe. The next morning, they let me know right away of what happened to my car. All in all, they explained everything thoroughly, thrice checked the estimate to make sure everything was correct. The cost of repairs were decently priced. They told me everything would be ready the next day and they kept their word. They even noticed more things wrong on my car that I should definitely get fixed, but they were not being pushy or anything - they were just giving me advice. Given that I wasn't exactly car saavy and I didn't maintain my car as well, knowing about what needs to be done definitely helps, especially since I've had trouble with my car for years! Overall, Shahab and his team definitely know what they're doing and they know their cars well. They treated us like we were family, ensuring that we were with them every step of the way. Watch out for this place, I wish we had they charged us 511 dollars and never even did the service we came to them for so we had to go somewhere else. Also they give out free services for positive reviews so take the other glowing reviews with a grain of salt. My husband brought my Ford escape here for a simple valve cover gasket replacement for a oil leak and we decided to replace the spark plugs while we were at it since the escapes engine isn't the easiest to get to. We had had several mechanics inspect our car to locate the oil leak we noticed, all of them agreed there was just an old gasket that needed to be replaced, no other leaks were located. My husband decided to go with starr based on all the great reviews and reasonable price we were quoted. While dropping off the car the owner Shahab told my husband that the engine was covered in grease and oil so to get a good look and make sure he could see that there was no other problems he needed to do a engine degrease service for a extra 50 bucks. No big deal but with that the gasket and spark plugs the total came out to $511.00. we picked up the car the same day and were told to keep an eye on it but everything seemed fixed. Well it wasn't, the car was still leaking oil and more than before, so we put in a uv dye and drove it for a bit. We then took it to g-tech down the street from us to have a look. Well G-TECH told us the leak was from the gasket that had just been replaced, so we called Starr and told them the issue, no big deal it had been less than 3 days since the repair so under warranty and mistakes happen. Shahab seemed upset we went somewhere else to get the leak checked but agreed to take a look and replace the leaky gasket. We took our car back to Starr and once again they "replaced" the gasket, this time when picking up the car they told my husband they had even put silicone just to ensure there would be no leaks. Well the next day when driving I noticed smoke and an awful burning plastic smell and after watching the car run for a while we noticed oil leaking again, this more than ever! We still had the uv dye in so with an inspection we located the leak once again in the same exact spot. Fed up and scared to allow shahab and his guys to touch our car we took our car to g-tech and had them replace the gasket, lo and behold the mechanic there showed us it was the same gasket Starr put in the first time easily identified by the mark we put on it when g-tech looked the first time, so starr took the cover off slathered it in silicone and put it back together without replacing the faulty gasket. So now we are out an extra 180 because we had to pay g-tech and Starr just to replace one thing. Horrible experience but I would recommend G-tech for anything you need, stay far away from Starr read more
